I was being unclear because I don't explain this very often. Discriminating based on gender is illegal. Being a woman is a gender. Since only women can give birth, then any discrimination having to do with birthing a child would be considered gender discrimination against the female gender. Suppose you have a bathroom where you have a tampon dispenser, and only women are allowed to use that bathroom. Are you discriminating against men by not offering them tampons?

If births to unwed mothers is up and crime is down, then what's up with the percentages now? 1980: 10 rapes total 8 from single mother households 2016: 4 rapes total ? from single mother households How much could the percentage have gone up from 80% in 1978 to account for the huge increase in single mother households?

Is there any evidence that there is no male role model living in those homes? The statistics are "unwed" mothers. We can't tell if the father or mom's boyfriend is living with them from these statistics.

Have the percentages changed from the 1980s because crime is down, so if such a large percentage of crime is coming from single mother homes, is that percentage much larger now? Also, with so many single mother homes, are there way more single men living in their own homes, or do these stats not account for unwed parents still living together?
