Atticus Aldridge from the later seasons? Richard Ellis in the film? He was a little condescending after he got Thomas out of arrest, but otherwise helpful and amiable. Thomas did sit around for a time waiting in a pub for him, which doesn't seem so fun, but Richard was off visiting family, so it's not like he'd pop there for 15 minutes having otherwise no opportunity for months at least. Barrow should have found something more to do.

Plenty of 23 year olds are at university. Depending on the courses, some of them will even still be in undergrad (without any need for them having failed anything!) and many in postgrad courses. It's not weird or creepy to be a 23 year old at uni.

I give a fake birthday because I don't want to share out my actual birthdate to sites like these, but *somehow* I manage to not to get my age several years off.

Not for OP, but as a lesbian, it can be very difficult to find a date in the real world. OLD wastes a lot of your time and usually leads nowhere, but at least you know a woman is interested in other women.

Roleplay could be okay if what you're roleplaying isn't rape or assault.

I think it depends. Obviously unlike actual pornography, written erotica does not directly harm anyone in the course of being produced (with the extreme exception of a writer doing hands-on-research, possibly). There's no reason to me why smut/sexually explicit fic would be more ethical than an original piece of writing involving the same sexual elements. In writing erotica, the 'for profit' element doesn't come in in ethical consideration in the way that it does in having sex (i.e. writing abou…

Sorry, you'll have to explain in what sense a loophole. Are you saying, "is it the only acceptable type of porn?"

What benefit comes from the "support" of engaging with the creator's work varies greatly on the type of engagement. It's more true of the non-ownership streaming type of engagement, where the arrangement might be that the creator gets some royalties per engagement. It's less true of the ownership type of engagement. If you already own a book or CD by someone, there is no difference to them whether you read or listen to it. You may have bought them benefit at the time of buying (unless you bought…

And then those women give birth and give the child the father's name, so that it is part primarily of the father's family and not of hers. Even women who keep their own surnames often do this. Lady, whose child is this?

PIE may be gone, but the idea isn't. " ILGA World – the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association – is actively promoting a “Feminist Declaration” which it describes as an alternative to the political declaration made annually by the United Nation’s Commission on the Status of Women (“CSW”) that outlines the steps necessary to achieve gender equality. However, deep within this detailed 16 page Declaration are provisions urging governments to “eliminate . . . laws limit…

Hey, nothing wrong with some graphic tees! I have some with some animals like owls and some with prints of paintings. No particular advantage in t-shirts that are just block colour. They're just casual wear, in some cases more vibrant than others. It's good to have more and less formal/smart clothes, but there's no need to be dressed up all the time.

Men doing it is a wide-scale crime, but harsher repercussions come to women. The same was with the crime of molka in South Korea, where there's a big problem with covert filming of women in public facilities - in 2018 there were protests after a woman who took and shared pictures of a male model from a drawing class was sentenced to nearly a year in prison while masses of men (making ~98% perpetrators) never get any repercussions at all.

I think it is not right to call all these men in the survey "incels". They're under 30 and reporting no sex partners at least since 18, but some of them may still be close to 18, for one. Even if they're feeling lonely and would like to date and have a partner, it's still not the same as incels, a label which takes specific attitudes and a specific type of broad entitlement and resentment of women. I'm between 20 and 30 and haven't slept with anyone since I was under the age of 18, but that does…

The issue was less that AC lived with the paedophilic father as that, even after the father was charged with the rape and torture of a 10 year old, AC still deemed it appropriate to give him the job of election agent. Being unable to believe that a loved one was actually guilty is one thing, but even if you believe someone to be innocent, pretty much anyone would consider it extremely inappropriate to appoint someone with such charges pending on them.

"maybe some toys or blindfolds" already that's not so "vanilla", since you've already moved into the area of just the other person not being enough.

She does have a point about the potential willingness being a different thing. I'm a lesbian and there are some of my friends I could see myself sleeping with and forming a relationship with if our relationship developed that way (as in, I find her engaging not only as a person, but also attractive), but I'm not their friend because I have any expectation of sexual relations and the friendship isn't a "well, this is what I can get" thing. I've been friends with crushes before and while obviously…

It's not happy coincidence, it's not having the same sense of entitlement. The men who do this can't stand the idea that there is anything that is not for them. That's why they push in to women's groups.

I like fandom too, but the problem is that in a lot of fandom spaces, there is often much positive talk and depiction of BDSM. There you are reading a nice story and suddenly, bam. Also many spaces are very much into gender identities, which is not good for women either.

I don't think it's like vomiting. If I saw someone throw up in public, I would feel distaste, but I would also feel sympathy and pity for the person, who is clearly very ill at that time. (Okay, not so much if the person was clearly very drunk and that was why). Whereas a person having sex in public is only "ill" in the sense of degeneracy and not having respect for others. So much worse.

I'm not in the US, but in most places, where you have joint ownership (whether like this or from inheritance), the court can force you to sell if you can't reach an agreement outside of it. Either one side can pay the other off by buying their share or the house is sold and the proceeds divided according to the ownership share. I struggle to imagine any jurisdiction that wouldn't have similar procedures.

He's not a dog that's been left tied to a railing while its owner goes into some business premises. He can split off from the group before the others go to the strip club, assuming they're meeting to do something else first and the strip club isn't the whole meet-up.

You stood up for yourself enough that you didn't end up marrying any of these inappropriate men you were matched with. Consider it in that way. Get a hobby, identify some activities you enjoy doing that don't require a partner. Consider why you think that you need a partner to be fulfilled (presumably because you had this message imparted to you) and whether this is something you can't live without. No partner will always be better than a forced partner just so you have one.

But they don't necessarily go food shopping in those clothes, only if they're coming straight from the office. Weekends and late evenings are always much busier in food shops in my experience, so I think a lot of people go first home to eat or go on a free day. When I get home, I can't wait to get out of office clothes into something more casual. I think it's fine, the guy is also dressed casually.

Depends how much. They like some in terms of appearance, painted face so your skin looks clear, painted nails. They may not want extreme heavy make up (where I'm from we have a word for this, we call it wallpaper), but they want some. Often men talk about wanting women to shave too. That too is performative femininity.

I'd say definitely. Most of my friends were always women, but I've had a few male friends. I'm not interested in men, so nothing was going to happen anyway, but only one of those friends ever gave any sign of being interested in me and we continued spending time together after that, no problem. My mother had a bunch of male friends and they all seemed to get on fine enough. I'd say if the men you're spending time around are interested in the company of women only because they think it might lead…

No, still just pseudonymous. There was, however, an Italian journalist who a few years ago identified a (female) translator as E.F. based on her income and her real property purchases. No confirmation and I think this digging into someone who chose to use a pseudonym and not engage in publicity (and how good that this was possible for her, given what we hear of pressure for authors to engage online) is not good.

Don't normalise prostitution in this way. You say you're annoyed by men who feel entitled to women's bodies but you appear to support them engaging in one of the most extreme forms of such entitlement.

Not for a sign of being special or a good relationship, but taking a look at the family was advice I got from my mother about dating and I think it's useful. If you think the family dynamics and how the father treats the mother aren't right, that's a bad sign even if your own partner seems to be acting better.

They were fought for by women by making enough men's lives inconvenient enough. But we could say the same things for the rights of men, where the division wasn't only by sex. Men who weren't of sufficient wealth or rank were also deprived of the right to vote. Does it follow that the nobility and the rich can take it away from the poorer and non-aristocratic strata just as quickly?

I'm negative about general moves towards intestate partner inheritance over child inheritance - in Scotland now a cohabitating partner can raise a claim in the courts up to what a spouse could receive and there have been a series of proposals to extend their protection and reduce/remove existing protections for (adult) offspring. With increased chances of it being a second family set-up at best, this partner preference just leads to your child being deprived. But this guy is so extreme, it's rea…
