The rates have largely decreased in other countries, but here it has doubled since 2000, even though the amount of babies born has decreased during that time period. Once a woman is pregnant in the states, the risk of death raises to about a 1 in 15 odds of death. Honestly, I really don’t think I know of anyone who is against someone being a housewife if they wanted to. It’s a perfectly respectable choice in my opinion. Not only that, but it’s also super common- like, thinking of my friends and general social circles, a lot of them would be considered housewives, and I’ve really never thought about it through any critical lens like what you’re saying. I mean, it’s human. No person is immune to it, and it’s probably healthy in small doses. If you feel like you worry too much about how you’re being perceived, to the point where you overanalyze things like what lifestyle choice you should pursue, it might be something to look into. Do whatever you want! If being a housewife is what you think will give you happiness, fulfillment, etc, then don’t let anyone stop you. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with it.
