I think the reason behind the celebration of women and blacks and native Americans is because they all used to be literal property and had zero rights. Black men actually received the right to vote before white women. It’s just interesting to consider coming from that situation in the early 1900s to where we are today. I’m not saying that we shouldn’t celebrate men, but white men have always had rights and control and black men were given rights before women. We’ve come pretty far 🤷🏼‍♀️I realize…

I understand I’m jumping to conclusions and I apologize if I’m completely off base. From a female’s perspective, why tf would she want a divorce while carrying your child? When I was in this situation, I didn’t truly want a divorce, I loved my husband. But I needed something to change drastically. I felt unheard. I had no idea how to fix it and I was drowning. If she’s asking for divorce at 39 weeks pregnant, I’m wracking my brain to come up with anything besides she doesn’t feel seen, heard, he…

Honestly, I got this way pregnant with my 3rd. I was very clingy to my husband sometimes and then would lash out when he wasn’t helping enough and then would blame it on me. I had 2 little ones running around and I was doing absolutely everything. He worked weird hours but literally did nothing else. I would make requests of him such as asking him to run my feet or back at night and he “didn’t feel like it”. Ok whatever. He couldn’t look around and figure out anything that needed to be done, i w…

I have lost everything. Due to my ex husband throwing me out with nowhere to go. Don’t pretend to be the only person who’s ever been in a hard time or hurt. You have no idea what I’ve been through. I just choose to realize that it was him and it was me. Him treating me like trash isn’t a reflection on every man. Just like whatever she did to you is not a reflection on every woman.

Jesus. Go ahead thinking all women are like your ex and see how happy you are. There’s horrible people, men and women. My ex husband kicked me out without nowhere to go and no one to help me. I am completely destitute and debt ridden. I can’t pay my bills each month. In the court ruling, I got no child support for our 3 children nor alimony, because he moved in with his parents and quit his job so that when they ruled, it showed he had zero income. Then immediately after, he began working his 6 …

Why on earth would them asking you what you do for a living cause you to put your guard up? Men ask me that all the time. It seems like a pretty standard question. Like I’m trying to find out how you spend your days and what you know about. It, ya know, helps you get to know them 🤷🏼‍♀️ If a girl asked you that and was either immediately more or less interested in you because of it, that would seem like the red flag imo.

But I wanted him when I had him. Are you saying I should act like he can’t have me? What if I do that to try to improve things between us and he moves on? I hate this all so much.

I definitely cannot ask him. I’ve told him many times that I love him and want to work things out. I stopped doing that because it’s not productive. He knows where I stand. If he wanted me, I feel he would say the opposite of what he actively tells me, that he has no desire to ever reconcile. I don’t care if we don’t get married again. I just wish we could be together. I know it will probably never happen. But I’m not ready to give up on it.

Thank you for the advice. I know in my mind that’s what I should do. In my heart I just can’t let go until I know for sure he will never want to try things again. I see now that I made some big mistakes. I was, and still am, really bad with money. He says I spent all of our money and that was the main problem (literally just told me today, I had no idea what truly caused the divorce before today). I just didn’t understand how damaging it was. I thought I was trying to keep our family healthy by …

I am always interested in understanding how men think. How people think in general but especially men because I don’t understand their actions sometimes. I majored in psychology so I guess it’s just natural for me to be interested in the way different people think and what creates those differences. I guess I wanted to try to understand my ex a bit more. I’m still in love with him even now and even though we weren’t completely happy, I thought more should have been done to try to save the relati…

This isn’t something all people just do and it’s not considered “the right thing”. It’s just your random opinion of how you think it should happen. You can’t expect that other people will just know what you want. You have to use your words and tell them. We all have a different perspective on life and many people think everyone else sees the world the same as they do but that’s not accurate. If this is something that is important to you, ASK your ex to consider it. It’s not a given and they can …

That’s not really how it was. He was a SOF dude. He developed psych issues. He was always a very intense person which I loved about him. Sparks flew like crazy between us with just a look. But that intensity turned dark at some point. He started seeing me as his enemy. Once he started convincing himself of that it was done. I can see that in hindsight but I didn’t realize it while it was happening. I wanted to work on it bc we had 3 children together and I believed our issues could be resolved b…

I filed for my divorce because my ex waited me out. He created such dismal circumstances that I had no other choice. I begged him to work on it for years, all through the proceedings, and after the divorce. He adamantly refused. So statistically it would appear that I was giving up but that’s not accurate. He had told me earlier in our relationship that he had never broken up with anyone. In his previous relationships he would just pull back and wait for the girl to do the break up because he di…

Jesus. Sorry bro. I just forgot what sub I was in. I have joined a few divorce subreddits. And anyway I see women commenting all the time. Also I have commented a few other times and got upvoted. I didn’t realize just men could post. Men post in the womens group. Why does it matter that much? Yeah. I guess forgetting what sub I’m in means I have serious issues.

I could definitely be wrong. I’ve just heard this multiple times. That’s why I said certain states because I know it’s not all.

Just my 2cents. Don’t be the one to file if you don’t want it. Then you will be legally saying you want to initiate divorce when that isn’t the case. Plus it can sometimes be used against you in certain states not to mention your spouse using it against you in arguments. You may also always wonder those intrusive thoughts of what if you hadn’t filed…could it have gone differently? Source: I filed when I didn’t want the divorce. I was being treated like a nothing and abused. For some reason I sti…

I am a woman. I know I can’t ever fully understand how horrible those things make men feel but I just want to say I’m sorry there’s so much of it out there. Personally I do not share those thoughts and I never talk men down when out with a group like many women do. Every woman I have experienced doing this is very hurt and gotten to the point of anger. If I call a woman out for it and we get to talking, it’s generally a situation where she starts crying. She actually loves her man. I find it sim…

So, I fully agree that the bitch in the above story was milking it in order to be lazy. But, first trimester is the most miserable in general. Women generally have the strongest symptoms during first trimester.

Fuck no. She’s being a dick. That’s not her right ever. Even if there was a case against you for not meeting your child’s needs. The court decides that. I mean what if she comes up with some issue with the bed? Are you prepared to do what she wants? I wouldn’t engage. Just don’t respond.

I think our society has given many of us the idea that love = marriage. I personally cannot decide if I would ever consider marriage again if I experienced happiness with someone else. I want the ability to walk away to always be there for both people. I completely understand your pov. I just know that as a young person, I wouldn’t have been able to fathom not getting married and I never had ulterior motives. Just wanted to give another perspective.

It is not about money to a lot of women. For some of us, it’s about love and commitment. I know many grown people are jaded and I get that but I refuse to give up on the notion that love can equal trust and harmony. I don’t think an ultimatum is acceptable but if I wanted to eventually get married and my partner didn’t, that would be an incompatibility and I would leave. Not in an ultimatum type of way but just this isn’t what I want. I married my ex when he was a solider. If I was marrying for …

I’m going through this same thing. Recently divorced - this year. I would try to date but then sabotage it. I finally realized I don’t actually want to date anyone right now. Even though it feels better to be around someone than lonely, I realized I just have to go through the hurt rather than avoid it. I’m still dealing with my feelings for my ex. I’m focusing on myself, kids, and finances. I know eventually it will happen but it’s going to be a long time before I’m emotionally ready.

She's abusive. Female going through a divorce here. What the actual fuck is all I could think when I read your post. Her behavior is atrocious and embarrassing for those of us of the same sex. Please do what this guy says and encrypt it rendering it useless.

It’s incredibly easy to silence someone you don’t want to listen to. The reason I know this is because my husband does it to me. I am basically never allowed to speak to him anymore. He either videotapes me or walks away in the middle of me speaking then locks me out of a room. I have no doubt that you could easily do these things and if your wife still wouldn’t leave you alone you could call the cops.

Divorce is a loss. You’re angry. This is a big step in the grieving process but it doesn’t mean you should get back together. Look up the 5 steps for grieving I think they’re: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and finally acceptance. You have to spend a certain amount of time going through each of these things before you will be able to accept that this is over and the best thing, which quite honestly sounds like it is.

Did you have expectations that she would act differently?? She’s acting as she’s supposed to. Divorce is a loss. You will have to go through each stage of the grieving process before you will truly get to the acceptance stage. There is no specific amount of time you will spend on each stage, it’s different for everyone. But it might help for you to think of it that way. The goal at the end is acceptance. You can google more details of these stages: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptan…
