How do you navigate the social stigma of wearing the camera? [for future post history searches: I'm not part of seddit or whatever, I'm just a videographer that saw this on the front page]

Hi fellow Nashvillian. I don't game or anything, but I like to talk to people. My reply would simply be: "Word! HMU when you get back into town and we'll grab pizza!" Or if you're really into her, I'd ignore that completely and jump to a convo about where she's going and keep up intermittent text with her. If she digs you, she'll be happy to see you when she gets back. You can make the above plans while she's out of town and have her anticipating.

Honestly, most of the advice here, including the top rated advice, is meh at best. You said, I want to become someone who can grab a girl's hand and spin her around on the dance floor. I dated a girl who had five brothers, three of which bboyed like pros. I'm talking running up on each other and doing back flips into splits and hand stands. Crazy stuff. They taught me the basics, or at least what my body was even capable of. A few months of swing with her taught me how to grab a girl and spin he…

Those paris replies seem too mundane. Don't be afraid have an opinion and couple it with a question. Me being me, I would reply to the paris thing, "Really? I've never been but a few people have told me that it's kind of a dump once you get outside the main touristy areas. What do you think? Did you get a chance to venture that far out?" I absolutely hate that game and jokes list. All sooo old and not situationally relevant. The question list is good for people though. I think the banter list is…

How are you? What are you up to? You know that dating research on okcupid has shown and incredibly high percentage of girls ignore comments like that? I can think of several different ways to open a conversation off the cuff that are better than this. Even something as simple as "So you dig on some pizza?" is better. Or better yet, "I bet you hate pizza don't you?" Another off the cuff: ok: "What's your favorite drink?" (She gets bland questions like that all the time and you've left no room for…

I really really enjoyed this and am going to share it to as many people as it can. I started doing the eye contact and smiling thing years ago and that one simple thing improved my quality of life and interaction with others. I've never been fantastic at small talk, but I've found that starting with a name and a question and then really listening gives me enough information to get excited about and talk to people. I started driving for Uber recently and every day it's like a comfort zone challen…

I understood you well too. Maybe lots of foreign teachers and friends. You actually have really well placed pauses in your speaking - something I need to work on.

Excellent advice. I was just pointing out in another thread how as a geeky/dorky/nerdy type seeking the same turning quirks or mistakes into funny situations seems to be more productive than letting it be awkward. Learn to make fun of yourself and your surroundings in a tame manner. Until I read that article, I didn't realize that I was unintentionally creating meta situations. (Although it jives I guess because my favorite type of humor in media is always meta)

I want to add to this and say "DO interesting things!" I've had several girls tell me that part of the fun about being around is that I'm always getting people together and doing stuff. Not just going to bars, but going to science museums, traveling to a random city to see a lego exhibit, going to bourbon festivals, hiking and rafting, exploring abandoned buildings, or it could be as simple as passing up your house on the way home to drive around the neighborhood and sing with pandora at the top…

I feel there needs to be a sub-pickup artist advice for geeks/nerds culture. The typical stuff I see never works well on those girls because they can see it a mile away. Being yourself, being weird, learning to turn your mistakes and blunders into funny situations seem to work better than the advice I see here. Hell, even catching oneself making a silly socially awkward blunder, but deciding to roll with it with the intent of turning it around seems to work. I also find having roomates in a larg…

Fall and winter are my favorite months. Why? Girls who are really pretty stand out a lot more.
