Birth control pills are also useful for regulating periods and making them lighter and less painful, some cancer risks are reduced, and it can help with acne. So they aren't used exclusively for sex like condoms are. And yes, they prevent STDs, but that's only during sex. If they had other benefits besides preventing STDs, and minimizing pregnancy, you bet I'd have a condom on 24/7.
