You know, I believe in chivalry as well, but I've got to say it's so much easier to be chivalrous to someone who is also looking out for your interests. I look out for my wife but she also looks out for me. Nobody loses. If a girl would prefer you to travel the full distance instead of meeting halfway it doesn't bode well for how that relationship would work. You dodged a bullet.
