2	Well it's according to bible after all To my understanding "teach" in this sense specifically refers to religious teaching. This led to the prohibitions on female clergy. The society at the time was a theocracy, so that inherently also applied to societal leaders. So unless that woman was attempting to be a politician or clergy member, the OP is an example of misunderstanding.
