I can identify with all of these points.... buuuut.... Depression hit with the stress of it all. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure I’ll once again be grateful as I once was, but when in the throws of it... whew... some days are torture dawn to dusk. She got the gold mine, I got the shaft. It’s a long road to rebuilding... one hard fought, painfully sought for brick at a time... at least for me... but I’m still grateful to be out of the marriage, just wishing I’d made better decisions afterwords

I dated while separated. Finally went exclusive with an amazing woman, then I buckled under the pressure. Make sure you’re ready before you put your heart out there. If you find that special someone, but your affairs aren’t in order, you could end up like me... having a nervous breakdown and stuck in a deep depression after betraying the heart and sabotaging a whirlwind romance. Four months later I’m a pitiful shell of the man I was last summer. I’m sure that I’m likely a unique case, we all hav…

I had amazing luck on Match. Got out there and had too much fun for a year. Found the most amazing woman... then I crashed... broke up with her. Shoulda been working on myself, I have a lot of issues to sort out. But hey, found 3 great women, a couple duds, lotsa sex... just way too soon. Was exclusive with the last girl, fell in love, freaked the f out, and broke up with her. I should also say that I met sweet women, keepers, but again, it was all too much too soon. Taking some time off for awh…

Damn you got some amazing advice below. Jealousy, regret and feelings of low self-worth will swallow a man whole. If the ruminating thoughts get the better of you and your mind gets hijacked and you end up with depression, just know, you can come out of it. This is what happened to me. You only get to live once... and here in America we’re all about the pursuit of happiness, I’m guessing the lucky ones find it, but I’m all about the pursuit. Sex can really fuck with a guy. I know that I want to …

Slightly, but I’m severely depressed, only time will tell if I can escape the doom and gloom. Still holding my job and modestly productive, but the negative thoughts haunt me.

Don’t hastily kick her to the curb, she’s been through a lot too. I’d try comforting her and that might help you two to reconnect. Be firm with your frame and expectations.

Gotta work in you bro, it sucks, it’s painful, you may enter the dark night if the soul... you may improve and regress ... but keep striving to achieve and improve... I would suggest loving yourself and learn to be happy without a woman... if that’s possible... lord knows I’m tryin.

If you’re both in the same frame of mind, then cool. If you are really into her, then not cool. I screwed up and fell in love with an amazing woman during my divorce, got stressed out, broke it off and fell into a massive depression... I’m still reeling over it a month and a half later. Sucks big time.

I like the use of “tornado” as a metaphor. I’m in an f-5 it feels like. It’s like one bad thing happens after another. Worked last fri after thanksgiving to put up the electrical service on this job and someone snatched my Yamaha 2000 generator... unbelieveable, while it was running... ugh. I don’t know where this tornado will spot me out, but I hope it’s not the unemployment line or homeless shelter. Kinda scary right now.

Thanks for the encouragement. I’m just going to keep plugging away... even if I can’t sleep past 3 am on good nights. Hindsight is 20 20... shoulda kept it simple. So now it’s just focus on the important things and keep trying to get right.

I got into a relationship... well, first I slept around a bit... then fell in love, then broke it off. That’s when I fell apart. I lost my marbles and might lose everything. There were so many stressors that my mind cannibalized it’s seratonin... aka: major depressive episode. I might lose everything. Don’t end up like me.

I make good dough... foreman’s wage in Minnesota... union... 100K, but I’m falling apart right now... clawing to keep my jobs from falling apart. Yeah, I have a tough nut to crack every month ... it’s like my nuts are in a vice. Take care of your mental brother... ease up on stress til yer settled. Don’t end up needing anti depressants like I just started, to keep from losing your mind. I just hope you guys heed my warning.

You can’t ruin her, you can only ruin yourself, keep your cool and if you’re happy with your life... hold onto it and stay healthy

I broke up with an amazing woman and sank into a depression. Friggin sux. I didn’t know I’d sink into a hole after that, I think that was just the tipping point. The relationship was a stressor on top of stress and I figured it would be refreshing... wrong. I liked the relationship band aid... now I’m a shell of myself regretting all of life’s decisions. Friggin crazy.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
