Would female welders and other professions you deem valuable be exempt from this tax?

It's not about the ring. Often when a man proposes to a woman it's not about the man asking, it's the man (finally) saying "yes". There's no point in handing a ring to someone who doesn't want to get married yet.

The state should pay some compensation for taking care of children at home. Children grow up to benefit the whole society, after all, not just their parents.

Being an housewife is much less difficult than working full time job. Plenty of full time jobs are easy. Being a stay at home parent is one of those jobs where doing the bare minimum is easy, but most people do more than just keep the children alive. It's not about the difficulty but the time investment. In your scenario why does the wage of the husband drop 50k when the wife starts working, if he carries on working full time? Do men who have dependants get paid twice as much as those who don't?

Don't the women have a reason to complain, then? That's a horrible contract, as in there is none - legally all the money belongs to the man. There's no reason that the woman couldn't be directly compensated for her work at home by either her employer or the state.

Yes, we agree. It has to go in that order, because everyone's already working full time, you can't just add extra labor to the women's side. Men have to fight their employers for paid parental leave and shorter hours at work. The absolute minimum parental leave per parent should be 3 months, because that's the time an infant should stay in close contact with a parent (it's called the fourth trimester, after all) and 6 months is the recommended time for a baby to be exclusively breast fed so that…

Women can't just start doing more paid work because they're already working those hours at home, and someone has to do them. Workers need to unionize and fight for shorter work hours for all for the same pay, for a better work-life balance. I'm sure a lot of men would also rather spend time at home raising their kids than at work, but the "mommy track" goes both ways. A lot of women have to choose between having kids and a career, when men can have both. I agree that people should be more open a…

Agreed! Men should also do less hours outside the home to have time to contribute to housework. I'm in favor of either 6 hour days or 4 day workweeks for all.

How is it equal if the hours are equal? Men get compensated for those hours with money and women don't.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
