Yeah that’s a subtle one, hard to pick up on unless that’s her vibe too (or vibes she seeks out) and even then, you’d probably need to meet in person for it to come across clearly. People have archetypes drawn up already, and harsh critics will draw up conclusions about you immediately (they’re not always shitty people, some people have had experiences with certain personality ‘types’ that altered their ability to view an individual as a whole) — we’re literally always trying to represent oursel…

This feels accurate to me. Men I had considered attractive initially wouldn’t go anywhere unless there was a strong liking for their personality as well, and those assessments (at least for me, personally!) take me some time, I’m a slower burn and invest in whole people (as opposed to selectively choosing what parts of them I care about) so I like being sure. While men I wasn’t initially attracted to (god that word is so nuanced) could become very attractive if they had a safe and warm personali…

No worries at all! The answer is a little complicated, because I do see the ways in which my upbringing was quintessential to how I view the world - but my perspective has been uniquely challenging through my twenties as I navigate basic social standards. One of the detriments can be assessed to my parents closing me off in my room and letting me spend too many hours totally alone, developing a very myopic perspective on the world. I really did think, as an example, that the world just outside m…

I don’t mind answering. My parents chose to remove me from the school system just before I would have started first grade and instead, hired a series of private tutors to primarily educate me in the subjects that they themselves didn’t feel entirely sure of teaching me. Most of the time I would be driven to their studio or study and left for a period of time while I was being instructed. My piano and art teachers were more relaxed environments but I’ve always been drawn to creative endeavours, w…

My parents are in opposition to religion or any form of organized structures affixed to the standardized platform of American life. That’s why I wasn’t schooled, yet privately tutored. They were also extremely emotionally neglectful and my mother suffers from an unfortunate cognitive dissonance that creates unpredictable mood behaviours. I wouldn’t say I was sheltered though, intellectual achievement was regarded to equate to worth as a human taking up space on this planet. I don’t share a lot o…

I was isolated by my parents and didn’t escape until my late teens, but it took another five years after that to develop any social skills. After I met my partner, things started to finally change for me. He was also raised unconventionally, and I was also his first. We are mutually strange in the same ways, with the same hyper specialized interests; our bookshelves hold the spirits of dead philosophers. Point is, I would consider myself an intelligent woman who seeks emotional companionship wit…
