I find that a lot of girls now a days game themselves. I wouldn't bring it up, but it almost always enters the conversation as it's a part of my life. I've never had an adverse reaction to talking about games, and more than a couple of times it's given us something in common as pretty much everyone has or does play some form of videogame.

"Seems like you just reiterated what everyone already knows and gave it a shiny, bright title." If anything there needs to be more of this. Trying to drum these concepts into someone who's struggling with them isn't easy, especially when you're repeating the same words over and over. Sometimes a fresh take on an old idea really helps you look at it from a different angle, hopefully helping it sink in.
