I haven't been able to find anything concrete, but it seems like it would be bullshit. I looked up the supposed source, and Margo Maine's research has all been in eating disorders, weight disorders, etc. The book, Body Wars, is about people (women AND men) feeling comfortable in their bodies, so it doesn't seem like it would have statistics like that. Of course if it does have stats like that, I would like to know her source for that.

The pay gap is somewhat of a myth. True, there are differences in average salaries, but those don't imply some sort of widespread discrimination. Women tend to earn less than men on average for two main reasons: They have less experience due to maternity leave.
