I assume you mean the difference lies in their perceived different levels of ability to deal with the situation; the 200 lbs man has the physical resources to protect himself and is financially independent while his wife is financially dependent and outmatched physically. However, this doesn't mean one should be protected by law and the other shouldn't or that one should be protected more than the other.
