The character's behavior has nothing to do with it. It's all about the looks. Take the same character but replace the actor with somebody like Danny Trejo. Trejo would look tough/masculine enough for the role, but he's not handsome so he wouldn't be getting girls swooning over him.

Chad was originally meant to serve as a reminder of your shortcomings and inferiority and that's it. Incel types like to use Chad to stress their opinion that self improvement with eventual sexual success in mind is futile.
