Yes, I can agree with that actually. He didn't even become religious until his late 20's, after his second deployment. As said, raised by secular Jews in the Czech Rep, one of the least religious places in the world, so it was kind of weird to us that he turned to Catholicism of all things. I often wonder if some shit he saw over there flipped some kind of switch or something, or really, if just general military culture converted him. But yeah, I agree with that take largely. There is disagreeme…

What does life not going according to plan have to do with aging well? My brother's physical upkeep is pretty insane, I think he'll be fine on that front. And he's like ... 35. Plenty of good years left. Whether or not his life 'goes according to plan', well, as you said, probably not, 'cause does anyone's life really go perfectly according to plan? Any other pearls of wisdom? And most of the RPers I've spoken to have pretty rigid beliefs about a lot of shit. I mean, look at how the weird conser…

My heart rate is actually perfectly stable according to my watch, so you were not accurate (as usual). Also my blood pressure is high naturally, you can't actually tell that from reddit posts. I know you think you're some kind of amazing prophet or something, but you are actually just an average American dummy. Plus, I am busting out those 'walls of text' in like two minutes. Arguing with people who are clearly charlatans and who lie about their credentials is not difficult. If you admitted you …

Wow, really so hard to believe? You believe all this other dumb crazy bullshit, but me writing to blow off some steam and amuse myself by arguing with some idiot is so hard to believe? Fucking lmao, you are hilarious. I wish I could keep you around like a tiny little monkey. Also I'm on adderall right now, it's 5 in the morning. This is kind of a breeze.

I have been arrogant, but I didn't say shit like "I know more than you" lmao. You were directly, up front arrogant within three messages. I was not. I did not say I had any special type of knowledge, which you did multiple times. That's a pretty big difference. Also a degree in philosophy is easy to obtain and anyone can do it, yet you felt the need to lie about an expertise you clearly do not have. Also you couldnt even admit how stupid and wrong you were for telling a European from Europe to g…

So the answer is "no". You're not an expert on shit and you're not fooling anybody. You do not have a degree in psychology or neuroscience. You should probably drop this lie in the future because it's obvious to anyone who isn't completely retarded. Like maybe you can trick some absolute mouth breathers, but come on man, it's patently not true. You've said nothing remotely interesting or true for like a million paragraphs now. No one halfway intelligent is ever going to believe it, just like I d…

Right, I totally believe you. You totally "understand neuroscience" lmao. You can't write dumb shit like you have for the last two days and possibly expect me to believe you are an expert on anything. I could very easily post a picture of myself and my degree in philosophy. If you can't do that with your super cool psychology degree, then you're almost certainly lying. If you do not have a degree in either of those subjects, you are not an expert, and do not have any room to talk about those sub…

Well, that sure seems like an assumption to me. Treating some people like shit in the right ways can absolutely get you laid. Depends on how and what you're doing. Huge gradient to assholeness. Man it was so funny when you told me you "knew more than me" and then told me to go to Europe lmao. Remember that? How you know more about dating than me, in Europe, even though you're from America, and have probably never even spent more than a month or whatever here on vacation however many years ago? H…

You know that you can maximize the amount of fucks/dates/relationships you have and also be like a multidimensional human, right? In fact, the men I know who have gotten laid the most are easily the most interpersonally successful. The two are not mutually exclusive. Getting laid a lot doesn't suddenly make you a fucking morlock. You were the one railing on about complexity earlier. Where is that now? No, 'asshole' is a large gradient of behaviors. Cool assumption based on nothing tho. I never e…

Dude, every normal man is trying to maximize how many women he can fuck, how many he can see, how many he can date. I dont know if you know this but fucking/dating women is fun and in most cases fulfilling. This is a thing men do. They are trying to see what the largest group of women possible are into, and how they can fit into the mold with the largest amount of women. Especially with dating being so difficult now, and with women being the sexual selectors and having all the options, teaching …

You think in platitudes and deepities, and miss the largest points. The reason averages are useful is because they can help the most people. When we're talking about relationships, at least when I do, I want to help the most people and give them the truest answer possible. In most cases, giving them statistical averages of what people want is more useful than the deepity bullshit you're giving me. 'Oh, you can never know what happens!" and "People are complex" don't mean anything and they are no…

Honestly this is a fair take even though I really liked it. David Lowery movies are not for everybody. They are in general slow, plodding and weirdly esoteric, so I do not blame you one bit for this opinion.

Fucking lol at your Asian women thing: https://nie.edu.sg/about-us/news-events/news/news-detail/asian-women-prefer-taller-men-survey But this is a study and not borne from your own brain, and doesn't match your exemplary criteria for a "perfect study", therefore I bet it's wrong and shows absolutely nothing in your eyes. the only way to get answers is with circumstantial anecdotes, right? > If you hang out in alt circles you will see a LOT of such couples. First of all, I'm a tall man. I used to be a fat tall man. Now I'm a fit tall man. Which version of me do you think women liked more, upfront, no questions asked? Hint: it wasn't the fat version. Which version of me do you think attracted the higher quality women? Hint: it wasn't the fat version. I'm in an LTR currently, so it seems like your last sentence is evidentially not true. We're talking about what is attractive to most women and what would help you be more attractive to the most women, and that is unequivocally musculature and being fit and height. There's no close second value, either. These are the three things that will get you laid and inserted into the sexual marketplace in every part of the world. Being a pretty boy will have super varying results in comparison, so it's a little dishonest to say 'some' women like it. Like, yeah, okay, some women like being s…

Why does every statistic disagree with you, then? When asked, women cross culturally choose tall men with defined/toned musculatures. Signifiers of strength (aka arm and chest muscles) are chosen more frequently than skinny dudes with no arm muscles, or fat dudes with no arm muscles, or average dudes with average arm muscles. This has been replicated in at least a few studies I can think of and that have been posted here ad nauseum. Women do not choose skinny twinks or chubby guys on average, so…

Why isn't billionaire important? Now you're actively mind reading. Are you psychic? Can you tell exactly why the women are into the guy? Being a billionaire has nothing to do with it? Really? Why? 'Cause you said so? Give me a fucking break. Super Weird, 'cause there's tons of other smutty romance novels where the dude is not a billionaire, but he is some Chad Cowboy or something, and those didn't sell nearly as much as 50 Shades. So it seems like the billionaire part has a pretty big part to pl…

A billionaire Chad, not a normal attractive guy. So like I said: you're dropping parts of the analogy in order to forward a point, which is a shitty way of arguing. The fantasy of the book is explicitly about a billionaire. It's not just about him being a Chad. He's a billionaire and you said so in every other comment except this one, unsurprisingly. So either your point includes billionaires, or you do not have a point. Pick one. Yes, I am willing to admit that anyone would be willing to be mor…

You said that 50 shades of grey was a 'manifestation of their desires', so if that's the case, it is the manifestation of their desires to do kinky shit with billionaires, not normal men, because that is the fantasy contained within the book. That does not track with your original statement or OP. Funny how you keep ignoring that. 50 Shades has zero to do with your original point and you threw it in because you're reaching and quite hard, at that. Kind of funny.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/21 08:53 PM
2

You didn't address any of my other points. The Notebok (and many other romance novels) have also sold 100's of millions of copies. Are those not a "manifestation of base desires"? If so, it does not seem to track that 'women prefer kinky sex' anymore than they enjoy totally normal boring Nicholas Sparks sex. Or,, like I said, they just like romance novels. Also women cannot just fuck billionaires on a whim -- vast majority of human people won't even interact with a billionaire in their lives, le…

Ok, so they are a manifestation of women wanting to be kinky with billionaires, which most men are not. You're still essentially making a 'video games cause violence' argument, which I do not buy. Or you're just dropping certain features out of your analogy in order to make it fit your argument. Like, you're saying it's a one to one track of their desires ... if that's the case, their desire is to be kinky with billionaires, not normal men. Oh yeah and keep in mind about 20-30% of people who bou…

I don't think novel sales are a good way of gauging what people want to do in their personal lives. I mean, the Game of Thrones books are also best sellers -- how many men genuinely LARP, besides very few? How many would trade their lives to go live in shitty Westeros and swing swords around and wear chainmail all day? These are all fantasy books, fictions, and I don't think there's any one to one relationship there. You can want to read about weird sexual happenings or medieval fantasy worlds a…

So you're willing to say that adults are capable of truly heinous acts, but they can't be petty or just plain stupid? Yeah, just don't agree here. Adults are petty and have stupid bubbling thoughts that ruin interpersonal relationships all the time. I think this kind of thing strikes women more often because there is always money in the banana stand for them, and that's not true for men. Women can more easily come up with arbitrary and truly stupid reasons to break up with someone and be just fi…

I'm 30 and I think you're giving adults too much credit. Adults cheat, lie, steal, kill, act retardedly and against their own best interests, all of it, all of the time, every day. The phenomenon OP is talking about happens to women more frequently because they are the sexual selectors. Average women and up can have these razor thin requirements and still find adequate companionship throughout their lives, and with very little try. Contemporary men aren't really afforded the same luxury because …

So you're talking about women who actively partake in the BDSM community, not "women". You're asking why the small percentage of women who join sex communities are open to kinky and performative acts, you're not asking about sexually normative women. Do you not see the problem here?

I kinda hate anime for the most part but if I meet a person and they don't think Akira is a masterpiece they can go fuck their own dumb asshole. The only three things on my ick list are obesity, using the phrase 'ick list' unironically and disregarding Akira as a seminal work of cinema and one of the greatest achievements of the 20th century, right behind airplanes and frozen dinners.

Your mileage will greatly vary here. I've discussed this with friend groups where there's a lot of common ground and intellectual overlap and there was no real consensus, pretty much everyone gave a different answer. I don't think the actions of cheating are what make it terrible most of the time, it's the deception and lack of communicative effort. Being protected isn't a benefit in a romantic relationship? My brother being strong and tall isn't a benefit? Having money isn't a benefit? I'm pretty sure those are gigantic benefits and relationships are formed from them all the time. My SIL just doesn't want the drama of arguing. Also why would I be jealous of a man with three children, whose upkeep is ridiculous? The maintenance of his life alone is not jealousy worthy. I never said it was static. But what they are at any certain time defines their position within the SMV and the social strata. Also some people can just change better than other people. It's not self defeating because, like, I'm tall and have a GF and never had a problem dating. Im talking about other people, and clearly lots of other people have trouble dating. None of this really matters when you are an average man and have no options in any community. Even in small communities, women gravitate towards the top tier men in those communities, and even still, we live in the world of the internet, where women can pick and choose at their leisure in nearby cities. There is no such thing as "small community" dating anymore. You are overlooking just how few options the average man has and underestimating just how many options the average woman has, especiall…

I mean, sure. Women have a higher chance of being in both bad relationships and good relationships, but they are gifted from birth (if they're not hideous or malformed or whatever) the mechanism of choice, which men, excluding absolutely top tier men, do not have. Personally I would choose to have choice over no choice, or little choice.

Um, ok? I'm not sure what this has to do with what I just wrote. Women still have a much higher likelihood of finding something worthwhile because they are given the benefit of choice, which average and below average men are not. Ok, I'll agree with the "not allowed" thing, that's weird as fuck. Stick with the flats girl. I wouldn't tell someone what they're allowed to do -- but I have made arguments against heels and they are pretty much always met with mild hostility or whining, mainly cause the chick thinks I'm being controlling, when it's really just about knowing their reaction afterwards. They will take them off at some point in the night, they will whine about it, they will say something like "boohoo why do women …

I'm 6'2" and I don't like women who wear heels because they look like shit and are impractical as fuck. Also 100% of women who have worn them around me have complained about them to some extent. It's like me wearing a vice around my balls and then complaining my groin hurts. It's like ... fucking duh? Women think high heels "are sexy and look good" but they actually just look goofy as hell and don't help anything and essentially zero straight men give a single shit if you wear them.

They're just talking about parts of the brain that are in the left hemisphere. They are literally talking about specific parts of the brain. It has nothing to do with being on one side or the other. In fact, there's people who have "inversed brains", where parts aren't supposed to be where they are normally and it doesn't make a damn bit of difference. Kinda shoots it all in the foot. The only differences you're acknowledging is exactly what I already said: different parts of the brain do differ…

It is the view of authorities. It is not an extreme view. An extreme view is believing something that has no evidence just cause you want to, which is what you're doing. > We know this in part from what is lost when a stroke affects a particular part of the brain. This has nothing to do with a left/right split tho. It's talking about particular parts of the brain, not a left/right split like you're suggesting. Completely different things and you're not reading the paragraph right. It's not talki…

No on your last sentence. Just no. It's a myth that arose from ancient theories on how our brain works, all of which are demonstrably wrong -- demonstrably as in we've tested this stuff. There is no left/right hemisphere split like you've suggested and we know this. We can know this while being in the dark about a lot of brain function, just like we can know stuff about physics and space and asteroids and planetary bodies lightyears away without knowing what dark matter is. and I just posted lik…

When you really start studying these things, and the way the brain works (and we know very little about how the brain works), you'll quickly realize why it makes absolutely no sense. But don't trust me -- trust the litany of doctors I just listed. I have a degree in philosophy lol, I am not an authority on this, but a good friend from high school is a neurosurgeon and he gave me a lot of literature on the subject when I spoke out of turn once (as I used to believe the right/left hemi thing). I t…

I'm just focusing on one part of your comment that you should revise/exclude later, as I don't necessarily agree or disagree or have a strong stance on your overall point. The left brain right brain thing is a myth borne from people who are not psychologists or neuroscientists. It should not be included in any serious arguments, as it is total bullshit. It has essentially zero relevance to how brains actually work and you should not be drawing conclusions from it, and if you continue to draw con…

My entire focus has been on the fact that MOST people do not meet through work. And they don't, according to your own studies, and every study I posted. I don't care about OLD, lol, I am happy to be wrong, but most couples do NOT meet "through work". Look at every data point. There is no data point where work is first. If you don't want to look at the data, no one can help you. Again, even in your own link, you're wrong. Also why do you keep saying I'm blackpill? Again -- have a GF and doing swi…

Dude, your own link doesn't even agree with your point. You don't see an issue with that? You clearly said "most people meet their SO at work". On the stats you posted, "through co-worker" is third (at aboout 17%, pretty close to the 15% I said earlier) and doesn't even say anything about actually meeting at work, it just says through co-worker, which doesn't necessarily mean they "met at work" and the stats you posted don't account for that. Lmao.

First, I have a GF, second, your claim that "meeting at work" is the highest is invalidated by your own stats, which say that it's through a friend. 'Through co-worker' is third on the updated list, so you are incorrect in every case. Also here are other studies that disagree with your study: https://www.theknot.com/content/online-dating-most-popular-way-to-meet-spouse#:~:text=Another%2013%20percent%20of%20couples,work%20as%20their%20meeting%20ground. https://www.bridalpulse.com/most-common-way-…

Pretty much every hit on google I'm seeing is that only about 15% of people meet their significant others at work. You are either reading the studies incorrectly (very likely) or they are methodologically flawed (also very likely). Most people find their SO's on online dating, in their 20's (aka in college, or around college) Really have no idea where some people on this sub get these whacky ideas. It's like you just want to believe in wrong shit.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
