Dating doesn’t feel like a numbers game for everyone but it does for many. Some hyper sensitive people are very quick to pick up on certain signals that makes someone else seem incompatible, other have to go thru the motions to pick up on that but it’s still essentially playing the numbers or at least keeping one’s eyes open to possibilities.

Eh, I think you’re right in the sense that the best path forward is probably with simulations and sex bots. It’s not a gendered thing I just don’t think that humans minds exist in a life/world where most people could be fulfilled without it compromising other people’s wellbeing. The human animal dreams about righteousness but is not always inherently righteous.

I am into the world of exhibitionism and might prefer to date someone who likes to do performative sex work.

I think however people want to describe their sensitivities is fine, that the prevalence is real, and that huge swaths of people are relatively either autistic or mentally ill compared to their ancestors. The reasons being that our brains develop in the world and this world is unprecedented (fucked) and wildly different than what our social cognitive abilities are primed for. Reducing people’s sensitivities to “just” as in saying they’re just a shut in is dismissive of the felt nuance of these t…

Few things make me feel less “male” than hearing how thirsty other men are. I am extremely naturally picky and despite trying cannot lower my standards.

Yeah when a situation different to the one op is talking about happens it’s not the same thing but some women do gaslight and manipulate men for attention and it destroys them. You’re speaking about something entirely different.

Some of it is trial and error and some of it is individual circumstances. I’ve realized that my most true and honest self would be cringe or creepy to a lot of people but who they are might also be just as cringe to me. It’s best if we just accept others and that not everyone will want the same things.

I've paid for Hinge premium for 4 years now and choose to only go on maybe 1 date a year. I've thought about how people might see my profile multiple times and wonder if there's something 'wrong' with me but really that's their problem and I probably wasn't interested in them anyways.

I'm 37 m/fluid and am far more attracted to certain complimentary opposites. I'm pretty alt and artistic but am very into posh bubbly women.

As a high-functioning masculine/fluid autist I'll say the sensitivity for me is a two way street. I don't think the critical lack is as rampant as you may suggest here, the spectrum of most people is being somewhere in the middle and receptive to the relationships they meet ... -but, at the same time, hegemonic femininity and tropes are specifically what I find attractive to the extent that women who don't exhibit stereotypical 'hyper feminine' traits aren't as attractive to me. Gender tropes ar…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
