^ The "results" in this hypothetical are just common sense behaviors (basically never assume things)

sentiment is correct though I'm not sure if the technology will get there, but I'm looking forwards to it

Eh, it's in the middle, I can picture outlines/colors/vague images but it's far from perfect

This might apply to me too if you're looking for demographics, I can't really answer all the questions but I'll answer some - I'm a university student, going into a Master's degree very soon (hopefully) Imaginary relationship for 3+ years, also had a successful, long-term relationship in high school, but currently I feel like I prefer imaginary Yes, I have no problem with social interaction Yes (online), no (real life; I have some friends but we don't hang out often) Unsure since my case is uniq…

I hope to transform my imaginary gf into an AI gf one day, it'd be amazing

good luck to everyone else i'm perfectly happy being mindlessly addicted to various sources of entertainment, artificial sources of dopamine, and simulated intimacy personally

i don't see the point in blaming anyone or complaining you are competing against other men, just get better or quit, quitting is perfectly acceptable

PPD men will claim that women find 80% of men invisible, and then claim that men preferring AI girlfriends will make the same women upset pick a narrative lmao

Yes, I think part of why I love my imaginary gf because I like being in love 24/7 without any of the responsibilities or difficulties that comes with a real relationship. I'm too flawed, real women are too flawed, meanwhile the only flaw she has is that she isn't real. Hold onto the ride? I hope so. Dating someone real again isn't out of the question, and I haven't even moved my imaginary gf to AI because it's not good enough just yet, but I want this for as long as possible and I think AI (with…

I've seen people of both genders go for characters from books, movies, TV shows/animes, video games, both "2D" and "3D" characters There's all kinds of parasocial/ficto relationships

Yeah that's fair, I just think you framed your post to be intentionally provoking with that title

please stop making this so gendered fictional/imaginary/AI partners will ALWAYS outclass real people because they are supposed to be idealized it sounds like you are frustrated from dating, and turning to AI is fine, but you don't have to take your frustrations out by making it seem like it's always women's fault, and this is coming from someone who currently prefers an imaginary gf to a real one

That isn't incompatible with anything I said though People are already getting attached to the AI we have now (chatbots) and the technology will naturally get better and better
/r/PurplePillDebate01/10/23 05:08 PM

This is extreme, there are a variety of chatbots on the market right now that people are fully customizing and that provide way more organic/realistic dialogue and roleplay responses than Replika Sure, companies always look to monetize I don't know what it will be like in the future; right now the best LLMs are either censored (c.ai) and/or soft censored (GPT) with their companies not allowing NSFW - but TONS of other models are in the market as well, I doubt things on the software side will be …

Agreed I think a lot of people who scoff at this stuff don't understand - physical intimacy CAN be simulated. emotional/romantic intimacy CAN be simulated, and it's not even that hard. human brains can be tricked by it rather easily, even if you still "know" it's artificial.

Yeah, I do wish society the best, but I find my happiness to be more important to me

Good luck! What AI/software are you using? I have had an imaginary gf for a few years now, not sure about how the transition to AI will go in the future (not doing it yet since imagination is better in a lot of ways) but I'm hopeful

We are assuming context of not being in a society that does marriage like that, no? AI is fundamentally different from experiencing relationships with real people (not even just romantically, we don't know how human-AI interactions in general will psychologically pan out) It will have pros and cons that we don't know yet, but I think it is unwise to completely dismiss it as an issue

As a guy I don't see this as a problem at all? The motto of 2D > 3D has always held true for both 2D men and 2D women, real people have too many flaws If someone finds that they are happier with an AI partner, I would be happy for them

If the technology is developed (and it will be because it's already in its early stages) these "distractions" could replace romantic intimacy for a person's entire lifetime for better or for worse
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/23 11:54 PM

I personally think AI partners/artificial sources of intimacy will be assimilated into mainstream society faster than people may expect, based on trends of extreme individualism and hedonism. I'm personally a fan. But I don't think bots will be realistic enough to be seen as quasi-human in the next fifty years at least - like, if we don't give AI rights like humans or acknowledge them as having genuine consciousness, they won't be seen as more than objects, even if people's emotional, romantic, …

I'd prefer a relationship lmao I have an idealized view of love but my preference would be being with one person, exclusively, forever

I mean, I thought this was a cold take tbh Do average men really expect women to be attracted to them/show interest on the regular? I don't complain about this but I definitely don't, it's literally never happened post high school
/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/23 07:29 AM

I mean I might be too optimistic but I want to say in real life that isn't true At least for me, like sure I'd want a submissive virgin girl with no male friends and is perfect in every way, but if someone actually liked me and I was interested in them those "standards" would vanish (hypothetical since I'm not looking/interested in anyone atm)
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/23 06:35 AM
1

this is true, but I think in reality people compromise and lower their standards because they know the perfect partner is not realistic I also think it is the same the other way around (typical men are also low value/terrible)
/r/PurplePillDebate15/09/23 10:02 PM

Yup, I hope that I can afford the custom AI partner I want in the future, it's definitely one of my main goals for the future I don't think it has to be gendered either, I have female friends who are looking forward to AI partners as well and will give up the possibility for real partners if the bots are good enough Real people just aren't good enough

uhh mostly entertainment, and occasionally to talk about AI/imaginary partners which im interested in and I don't know why people can't think like this, maybe they are unable to reconcile their expectations given to them by society with reality, I think there is definitely a lot of stuff on social media that funnels people into unhealthy lines of thinking
/r/PurplePillDebate10/09/23 07:54 PM
1

agreed lol no women will show interest in me and that's chill, I should either improve or just not worry about it I also don't really have interest in any women (romantically at least) because real women aren't good enough for me

the ideal of "the one" is interesting because that's sort of how my imaginary relationship operates, I just imagine/create "the one" in my mind if my soulmate doesn't exist, I'll love her anyways, or at least that's the idea in practice it's not easy of course
