5	I need your opinions... a stripper got me. It is deceit in much the same way acting is deceit. When i go watch a movie, i don't watch actors. I watch characters. When you go to a strip club, you also watch characters. Talented dancers craft a character on the fly to create the illusion of intimacy that they think the patron is there for. 2	My new workplace has a who-takes-out-the-trash rotation, and females are exempt. Is that legal? Oh, i agree 100%. I am one of few males in a largely female office. I am often tasked with carrying stuff in from their cars, changing bottles on the water cooler, getting/putting stuff into storage. None of this is related to my duty, and none of this is beyond most of the women. I could get pissed off. I could get outraged that this is professional disrespect. 17	My new workplace has a who-takes-out-the-trash rotation, and females are exempt. Is that legal? They can't make dangly bits between yer legs a criteria. But they could avoid that by making a rule such as "only people who can easily lift and carry the trash share the rotation" - but they then need to include any women who meet that rule, and exclude any men who don't. 1	Why aren't these classes offered to our sons? i'm close to agreement, and bummed out that you're getting downvoted for making points that contribute to the conversation. I'd say that some little boys and some little girls are interested for karate. Those that are interested and can, attend classes. These classes tend to be more intimidating to female students, though, who are (as a class, not necessarily all individuals) trained to be demure and are embarrassed at the idea of doing violence in a co-ed environment. 3	Why aren't these classes offered to our sons? that is bad teaching. But you were probably not helping much (though perhaps more than should be expected from a 14 year old boy). Any instructor that promises to teach effective self-defense in a few hours is misleading his audience. The most you can do is offer that false self-confidence in such a short period of time. Those classes can serve a purpose, in that they can alter a person's frame of mind, to encourage them that it is okay to take personal responsibility for your own safety. For females, for instance, there is general a much more palpable sense of impropriety in taking aggressive steps to protect yourself. They are conditioned to rely on others for safety, and are implicitly encouraged to have a victim frame of mind.
