Being hookup/FWB material is better than being husband material. Hookup/FWB material guys have the option of becoming husbands. But husband material guys don't have the option of becoming hookup/FWB guys.

In an ideal world, everybody would have an ideal life and dating experience. But it's just not possible for everybody. This is true. I'll go one step further and add that not everybody gets to date. Like how not everybody gets to see or walk. Life can be heaven for some and hell for others.

Do you not see how many below average men are dating above average attractive women out in the world? Just out on the street? You think that because women tend to exaggerate the beauty of other women (perhaps because of all the make up) while downplaying the guy's attractiveness. In reality, men date below their looksmatch. That's why it's very common to find short women with tall boyfriends, or chubby women with fit and muscular boyfriends. But you'd be hard pressed to find too many beautiful a…

Do Some Women Avoid Being Open About Physical Preferences on reddit? Yes. Because they think choosing a man for his physically appearance is "shallow" or something. Women choose guys they are attracted to and later explain their attraction by attributing it to a personality trait. "I like him because he really makes me laugh :)" No. You like him because he's 6'1 and has a face and physique that you find physically attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/04/25 02:08 PM

Attraction is multifactorial. Better looks = more attraction. Better personality/fun to be around = more attraction. Attraction begins with looks. Because the first thing a woman notices in a guy is his looks. And only after he passes her looks test will she even care about his "personality". If he's too ugly for her, he's out of the picture and his personality will not matter at all. If a woman has to choose between a handsome but non-fun guy and an ugly but fun guy she'll pick the first one. O…

Bullshit. What's bullshit is the idea that she was attracted to him just because he was fun to be with. In reality, she was physically attracted to him, which, from her perspective, made him fun to be with. So then how come short people are fucking and getting into relationships by using engaging in these same, time-tested mating behaviors? Nobody is saying short people cannot fuck or get into relationships. It's just that they have it harder and experience more rejections than people of average…

Okay, so what's your point then? Attractive people have more opportunities? Not only do attractive people have more opportunities, but one's dating success is determined by their looks first and foremost. Yes, she would. Unless she is also into those hobbies, in which case they wouldn't be "incompatible Hobbies don't matter when physical and sexual attraction is established. If a woman meets a man she is physically and sexually attracted to, she isn't going to then reject him just because he has…

Cool cool...he can "attract women easily." OK, and? She talks to him for 5 minutes, realizes he's an awkward nerd with incompatible hobbies, and then what? She loses interest. If he was tall and FACIALLY handsome, she wouldn't have lost interest. And him being an awkward nerd with incompatible hobbies wouldn't be an issue at all. Does it really make you feel morally better to declare that women are shallow because he got 2 seconds of attention from her before she moved on? Women aren't shallow f…

Yes, fun flirtatious banter and the ability to share a laugh with someone is universally attractive behavior. She found him physically attractive, i.e., she thought he had a nice face and/or height. It had nothing to do with his behavior. If a short and unattractive man displayed the same behaviour, i.e., flirted with her and nudged her playfully after making raunchy jokes, the outcome for him would be entirely different. Except nice guys literally don't do this. I know. But what if a "nice guy"…

No, he was average. And that's the point. His height didn't save him. Ok. I never made the claim that simply being tall attracts women easily. I specifically said tall and handsome (i.e., facially attractive). So there were 2 conditions to be met. You just gave me an anecdote guy who was just tall (but not facially attractive) which is completely irrelevant to my original comment. I guess you missed the part where I said he looked like a Muppet? His musical talent put him in social settings, and…

"I flirted with her, and nudged her playfully when I made a raunchy joke" is not asshole behavior. What if the nice guy flirted with her and nudged her playfully when he made a raunchy joke? she is letting him because she is having fun with him. And she's having fun with him because she finds him attractive.

The tallest guy in my high school Was he also the most handsome guy in your high school? Ironically, one of his friends in that group was 5'8" (so, not necessarily short, but certainly not tall) and looked like a muppet. But he had tons of girls looking to be his friends, and a girlfriend That's because FACIALLY he was better looking than his tall friend. It has little or nothing to do with his musical talent.

On what evidence do you base this statement? On the self-evident fact that looks matter the most when it comes to dating. What makes you think a short and unattractive man has a decent chance at dating success in this age of dating apps?

The biggest problem keeping so many people single is simply that there is a lack of a social continuity post-college/high school Attractive people aren't affected by a lack of a social continuity post-college/high school. They easily find partners. Why is that?

Why Most Men Who "Give Up on Dating" Are Just Reacting, and not Thinking. ... The men who claim they’re “done with dating” usually have one core problem: a total lack of critical thinking. No real analysis. The only men who give up on dating are those who've accepted that they are unattractive (and therefore, low-value). 30 years ago, they could have found someone in their league. But in 2025, where women have apps to find attractive guys, the low-value guys are basically invisible or worthless …

Cold approaching only works if you’re physically attractive. If you cold approach as an average-looking guy, most women won’t even give you the time of day. If you're unattractive, there’s no clever line, joke or combination of words that will make a woman suddenly feel attracted to you. The idea that women will suddenly stop what they’re doing and engage with a random average-looking guy just because he said some words is pure fantasy peddled by pickup artists.

Sure but there is no objective point where someone can be finally considered “attractive.” Because there’s conflicting variables. There's a whole science behind what makes a person attractive. IMO attractiveness is a spectrum. At one end of the spectrum are those who are objectively more attractive than others. This is true for men more so than women. That's why conventionally attractive guys all have similar facial features regardless of race or ethnicity -- strong jawline, "hunter" eyes, thin …

Would your goal be completed if you were able to go on a bunch of first dates that went nowhere? No. But I'd have solid proof that I'm attractive enough to get a bunch of dates. It would only be a matter of time before I find someone who clicks with me. Much better than being rejected for looks and failing step 1 over and over. Or that she was using the date as a way to get to know him? You know, the thing that dates are for? Same as above. Getting a "let's get to know each other date" is infini…

Companies shortlist candidates on the basis of their qualification, and then select one on the basis of how well he performs during the interview. They won't give people they deem unqualified the time of day. Women shortlist boyfriend candidates on the basis of their looks, and then select one guy on the basis of his personality. They won't give men they find unattractive the time of day.

One person's 6 might be another person's 8. But it's unlikely that one person's 1 is another person's 10. Correct. That's what it means when people say things like "looks are subjective".

Yeah, but from her perspective does it really matter that she goes on a date with a dude if he has a shitty personality and it goes nowhere? In the bigger picture it doesn't matter if the date goes nowhere. The dude with a shitty personality has what it takes to get dates. It's also significant that she (the woman in your scenario) went on a date with someone with a shitty personality. It indicates that she placed more importance on his looks than his personality. Most important doesn't necessarily mean the first thing she notices about you though Your looks determine your chances of success with a woman. It just so happens that it's the first thing she notices about you. the thing that makes her keep seeing you. Or the thing that makes her fall in love with you Those are also based on looks. She'll want to keep seeing you or fall in love with you only after you pass her looks test. It's logically impossible for her to reject you on the basis of your look…

What does most important mean? "Most important" would be the first thing a woman notices about you -- your looks (face, height and physique). It's only after you pass her looks test that she evaluates your personality. If you fail the looks test, you're out of the picture and everything else you have to offer wouldn't matter.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/04/25 02:21 AM

But surely, they see things beyond those eventually, right? AFTER you pass a woman's looks test, she'll evaluate your personality. But if you're not attractive enough for her, she'll reject you outright, and even if your personality is great, it won’t matter, because you failed the first round.

People can have emotions around sex but to claim one is 'lonely' solely due to a lack of sex while denying there are any feelings involved and even that the women they want to sleep with don't matter to them at all as human beings, is quite dishonest or a misuse of the word lonely It's understood that there are feelings/emotions involved around sex. But so many of these individuals insist they only want sex. Ok. So what's so wrong with a man wanting sex? On a related note, there was a post a few weeks ago on another subreddit in which a woman said she was in trouble with her conservative religious family because they discovered she was having sex with her boyfriend. While I know there are individuals with these feelings, there's also a plethora of posters claiming the term purely for their sexual wants while insisting they have a socially active life with friends and family When a man says he's lonely, he's obviously referring to the lack of romance (and by extension, sex) in his life, not the absence of friends or family. Let's not be pedantic.

“just respect women and maybe you will date one” is poor dating advice because it perpetuates an “action-reward” that directly ties to dehumanizing and removing agency Then it follows that men have no reason to be respectful of women. So yeah, let’s stop pretend that being good increases your odds in finding a girlfriend/wife/etc. I've been saying just that for years.

"No one has ever said looks don’t matter at all" That might be true in the little fantasy world that you've created for yourself, but in the real world, every man has heard "looks don't matter, personality does" over and over. No, women do not prioritize looks just as much as men During their 20's and even 30s, i.e., their prime years, they absolutely do prioritize looks as much as men. It's only when they want to settle down do they look for the nice guy with a stable career. I know plenty of ugly sales guys who have wicked hot wives. Ok. But how ugly are they? Whatever physical defects you have CAN be offset by sufficient success. Period. It depends on how bad the physical defects are. If it's acne or hairloss, there are treatments. If it's being overweight or underweight, diet and exercise can help. But some dudes have problems that are so severe, nothing can help them and no amount of success can make them attractive in the eyes of women. So it's kind of dishonest to tell them that their defects can be offset by sufficient success.

Describe what “a bit misogynistic” means? He believes women aren't as smart or capable as men. He also thinks it's okay to pump and dump women who genuinely liked him, (perhaps because he knows he can get with any woman he likes). He also looks down on women who are not his looksmatch, for example, if a woman is slightly overweight, he'll be rude to her and address her by nasty names.

That he was depressed, that he felt ugly, unwanted, and ignored. That redpill content IS falling into the hands of children like him and stoking fires that otherwise might not ignite. When it comes to dating and relationships, ugly men ARE unwanted and ignored. That's an observable fact. People can deny it all they want and claim "confidence and personality" matter more than looks, but the ugly young men who've been rejected over and over know the score.

You can be super confident when it comes to your career, but that confidence won't always carry over into the realm of dating and relationships. Confidence in dating comes from past accomplishments in dating.

You can't be confident unless you have something to be confident about. Your confidence needs to be based on something, like past accomplishments. A man who's had plenty of girlfriends and dates in the past, will be naturally confident around women that he's pursuing romantically. Inversely, a man who's never had a girlfriend can never truly be confident around women.

Being rejected is not in your control, but becoming an emotional support pet is. Unfortunately, a lot of desperate men willingly enter the friendzone thinking that the "friendship" might blossom into something more meaningful or that if he says or does the right things, the woman who friendzoned him will fall in love with him some day. I frequently see people claiming that the main reason why many men struggle romantically is because they have bad personalities If that were true, then abusive men, especially the attractive ones, would spend their entire lives without experiencing a relationship or getting a date. What is a high value woman? A woman who values her virginity and doesn't engage in casual sex, hookups etc. and only dates to look for a husband, while abstaining from sex. Everything else -- looks, education, financial status etc -- is secondary.

Exactly what the woman is being accused of. The issue is not that she's settling down. It's that she settles for the "husband material" guy after years of hooking up with random Chads. A woman who, in her prime, freely gave her body to men who made zero effort, suddenly wants commitment, devotion, and emotional labor from the guy she previously ignored. If "Sex isn’t the prize, dude. Mutual love in a healthy relationship is the prize" as you claimed, then sex wouldn't a big deal. So women have no reason to deny sex to any one that's interested in her. In a world where "sex isn't the prize", the guys who casually hooked up with a woman would be jealous of the poor guy who waited for several months to get sex within a committed relationship. But that's not how it works in reality.

Q4M: Why are you not hypergamous? Hypergamy - the action of marrying or forming a sexual relationship with a person of a superior sociological or educational background It happens quite frequently. In those instances, the guys are usually very attractive.

"Choose better" is an easy/bad advice we give people nowadays It's bad advice for the average person because they are not in a position to "choose". They just take whatever they get and enjoy it as long as it lasts.

Even if the "nice guys" have hidden selfish motives, they are still infinitely better than the honest “bad boys”. Both "nice guys" and "bad boys" have the exact same "selfish motives". The latter get what they want because they have something to offer women. And no, it's not their personalities.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/25 03:02 PM

But it makes no sense at all to complain that American women only want them for their wallet They're complaining about not being desired at all, not even for their wallet.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/25 02:58 PM

Not to be rude, but the kinds of men who resort to passport bro-ing, aren't the types of men that tend to be heavily desired in more affluent, western countries, anyway. If they aren't desired in their own countries, then it makes perfect sense for them to go somewhere they are desired.

There's a ton of good looking guys who can pull that are lost in their own bullshit. Depression, anxiety etc. They can be lost in their own bullshit and have other debilitating issues, but that doesn't mean they suffer from the specific issue of "love-shyness" that OP was talking about.

Group 1 sometimes can be "rescued" or brought to a well adjusted place where they can meet someone. Group 2 is irredeemable until they fix the underlying attitudes. Both groups have the same problem. They have unattractive faces. The only way anyone from either group can be redeemed is if they get new attractive faces. Give Chad's face to someone in group 2, and he'll easily attract women; his personality won't hinder him.

Men are Love-Shy Gross oversimplification. It's low-value men (aka unattractive men) with high self-awareness who are love shy. Simply put, they know they have nothing to offer women and that's why they are love shy. You'll find a flying unicorn before you find a rich, 6'2" Chad with a six-pack who is also love-shy.

You keep picking out one or two sentences, then illogically analyzing it to create a conclusion that suits your narrative. No, I'm just focusing on your 2 key positions -- A) that cheating is bad and B) that nobody is entitled to anyone’s body. They contradict each other but you seem unable to see that. Maybe you didn't think your "point" through? That explains why you're struggling here.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/25 03:38 AM

cheating = lying and deceit That means absolutely nothing within your framework of "No one is entitled to anyone’s body". If you are not entitled to your partners body, then you shouldn't have a problem if someone else gets access to it. You have literally waived away your right to their body.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/25 03:27 AM

This is so disingenuous. How is that disingenuous? If you really "loved" your partner, wouldn't you want to do nice things for them when they ask?

Do you understand commitment? Yeah but you said "No one is entitled to anyone’s body". So why do you suddenly have a problem with your partner cheating on you? You're acting as if you're entitled to their body. because there is no winning here due to your lack of integrity. Ciao! There's no winning because of your lack of logical consistency. Ciao, I guess!

So what you’re saying is it’s perfectly acceptable to rape your partner LOL. That's not what I said at all. Why are you twisting my words? Or did you reply to the wrong person or something? A relationship doesn’t mean you get a fuck toy. Then it shouldn't bother you when your partner allows someone else to use their body as a fuck toy.

If she gave her best to another man but expects you to settle for less, why be loyal? The guy she settles with is usually a low value dude who can't afford to not be loyal. He knows that if she leaves him, he'll need to struggle to find another woman who's willing to give him the time of day. /r/PurplePillDebate17/02/25 02:21 AM

Social awkwardness in men is exactly as much of a turn-off to the opposite sex as being a fat woman. That would be true only if the socially awkward men are also physically unattractive. A physically attractive man who is socially awkward will be perceived as "cute" and "quirky". Your outward appearance influences how people perceive your behavior/personality.

Men who are middle aged (specifically 35 to 45) are considered prime, meaning they are at their peak dating desirability. Their reasoning is; they usually have an established career and financial stability and provided you look decent women are attracted to a man's socio-ecomomic status more than their looks Yeah, women who've fooled around with random Chads during their 20's would want to settle down with decent looking men with established careers and financial stability.

Sorry, but everyone dates based off looks. Personality only matters if you're already physically attracted to them. Many women claim to value men who are in touch with their feelings, but it seems that those who embody more traditionally masculine traits, like tattoos, muscles, and a rugged appearance, tend to be more successful in dating. the red pill is just teaching young men how to be normal if they don't already get it The red pill teaches young men to view women as trophies to be collected -- "become a high value man and you can get women". Don't tell me that's normal. It also encourages men to pursue and sleep around with multiple women ("spinning plates") while also taking issue with women having high body counts, a problem that redpillers themselves contribute to. That's jumbled thinking and quite far from normal.

The fact of the matter is that as long as someone is attractive enough, or has one or two features that might be considered attractive, I know. When I say "looks > personality" I don't mean one needs to be incredibly good looking to find a romantic partner. I mean that one's dating success is determined by their looks, not personality. This isn't reality because it is far easier to win over people with looks. Yeah but physical attractiveness is often one of the first things to lose it's edge as relationships progress. Your physical attractiveness is your ticket to getting dates and relationships. It doesn't matter that it loses its edge later on, because it served its purpose. There are plenty of people who arent superficial and truly care about personality. You just need a likable personality. Technically true. But the reality is that those people always end up with partners with nice personalities that they find attractive. They care about personality, sure, but they prefer the attractive ones with nice personality over the ugly ones with an equally nice personality. They are not wrong to do so, but the lesson to be learned is that looks > personality.

Most Americans are fat and most Americans are fucking, so looks standards are clearly low depending on the person, the location, and the culture. Fat people end up with other fat people or someone who's below average looking, not fitness models. And looks standards vary from person to person. A below average person will obviously have lower standards. Also being fat isn't the same as being ugly.

A man doesn't need to look like the hunchback of Notre Dame to be considered unattractive. Missing women's looks threshold by a single point is enough.

/r/PurplePillDebate08/02/25 07:42 PM

Yeah that’s not true, anyone that stares at anyone else becomes creepy, staring at people isn’t nice and if nothing else it’s rude You're picturing an ugly guy staring at a woman. If Chad stares at a woman, she'd be flattered. Let's not pretend that women don't have different rules for Chads and uglies.

Obviously, his obsession with being rejected by women is off putting to say the least, someone who harbors resentment and anger towards your gender is not an attractive quality. There's nothing wrong with the have-nots resenting the haves. It's human nature. I, as a man, wouldn't even want to hang out with this guy for coffee, That's because you know he has a history of being rejected and so your perception of him has been shaped by that information about him. That's why you see him as deficient…

PS If you're just going to say the tired old "creepy just means the guy is ugly" save your energy. But it's true. Guys who are labelled as "creepy" are almost always ugly. If an ugly guy stares at a woman, it's "Eww. He's being a creep!" If a Chad stares at a woman, its "Wow. He knows what he wants and is so confident!"

is modern modesty really about modesty at all, or is it just a rebranded version of the same beauty standards with a different label? It's not a rebrand. It's a response. Even if modern modesty is an aesthetic trend like you say, it's a much-needed response to the immodesty that's prevalent in society. Men might desire sex with immodest women, but usually they don't respect them or see them as anything more than pump-and-dump material. Why? Because immodest women do not respect themselves. But w…

I can donate, help at shelters, give money to the poor, etc. while simultaneously acknowledging that others have absolutely no obligation to do the same. Ok. And you also support feminism and LGBT rights, while also not having a problem with people who are opposed to those things, right? (And no, you don't need to be the moral police to have a problem with people who are opposed to your values).
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/25 07:15 PM

Wait, have you seriously been going through life thinking we are morally obligated to give homeless people money? I was raised to be considerate of the less fortunate. But I'm beginning to see the problem now. There are no laws for this. So, who convinced you that you’re obligated? So if there are no laws requiring people to support feminism or LGBT rights, you'd be fine with people who are against those things? Ok then.

It’s just as ridiculous as trying to argue that people should just random give you money because you get really sad from being broke😞. No, no one’s just going to randomly give you tons and tons of money. You have to earn it. So we're not morally obligated to give money to starving homeless people? And they have to earn their own money? Cool. That's nice to know!

So when are you guys going to actually focus in personality? Seems like the answer is “Never, we’ll just keep using looks as an excuse”. If you are single and still your life is fullfilled with your own interests - you worth something. The need for female companionship can only be fulfilled by female companionship, and not by hobbies and interests which are entirely separate things that fulfill other unrelated needs. To be valued by women you must value yourself. If you are simping she'll never consider you as her equal. You will be below, beneath her and she doesn't want to settle to someone beneath. Fix for dating and loneliness lies in valuing happy singledom (mostly for men) By the same yardstick, the fix for poverty lies in valuing happy poverty (for both men and women). I.e. for men to collectively fix this imbalance in dating they need to fix how they see absence of dating. And poor people need to fix how they see absence of resources. If that sounds unethical and wrong, then your statements are also unethical and wrong.

The looks threshold isnt that high, using the video in my post as an example. Doesn't change the fact that looks are more important than personality. The guy just needs to pass the woman's looks threshold. Only then will she assess him on the basis of his personality. If they ignore a guy being a POS, theyre shallow or dysfunctional. In that case, virtually all women are shallow and dysfunctional because they're all biologically hardwired to feel attracted to good looking guys, which in turn cau…

A man who is confident, assertive, funny, and charismatic will find no shortage of woman willing to date him, regardless of how he treats others. A man who is awkward, meek, passive, and humorless will have very little success with women, regardless of how he treats others. An ugly dude who is confident, assertive, funny etc will struggle to get dates. "taking care of one's appearance" That refers to self-grooming and hygiene. By "nice physical appearance", I meant the facial structure that you're born with. If you're facially ugly, then taking care it's appearance wouldn't make much of a difference. Lonely people don't need to be told how to improve, they need to be told to talk to the people they're attracted to. Now. . Completely false. The fun guy that a girl can't wait to talk to or hang out with will win over handsome, sexy, rich any day. And that "fun guy that a girl can't wait to talk to" also just happens to be handsome (or at least physically attractive in some way).

The good guy was fit, stylish, and carried himself with confidence, even though he was relatively reserved. Despite being 5’7”, he was occasionally approached by women at social events. The abuser, on the other hand, was out of shape, lacked a spine, and had no sense of style. The only thing he had over the good guy was his height (6’+). Ok. She's probably imagining a fantasy scenario where only the misogynists and woman-haters are singled out and sent to fight in a war. 19

Well there you go. Hypergamy. I don't understand. You said "old women". I asked how old. You said 35. I said I'm fine with 35. I said they shouldn’t get upset that the hot young women reject them. Actually, they're upset that they're being rejected by non-hot women in their age range.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/25 03:03 PM

They pursue hot young women then get offended when those women say no I doubt it. Guys tend to instinctively know when a woman is out of their league. But even if they pursued hot young women, so what? What's so offensive about it? And for old women, let’s say 35+ I'm in my 40s. I'd be 100% fine with a woman in her 30s. Or even her 40s (as long as she's younger than me).

"ugly" people have kids all the time, this is why "conventionally unattractive" people still exist and and walk this planet today Just because someone doesn't look like a fashion model doesn't mean they're ugly. Why don’t they date unattractive women? Because they can't even get unattractive women. And also because said women are matching with guys above their league. They have better options. And I don’t mean “woman with a weird face but a hot body”. I mean fat and old women. Fat women match with guys above their league. As for old women, how old are you talking about?

All of the real ladies men I know are average looking, make average money, and drive average cars I'm pretty sure they also date average looking women.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/25 12:30 PM

What you’re admitting is that above average men are willing to talk to average women, whereas average men are not willing to. Above average men talk to average women because the above average women are going for the good looking guys. And yes, the good looking guys talk to above average women because good looking women are going for the Chads.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/25 12:29 PM

Being insecure and unassertive makes anyone ugly, it’s going to hurt you not to have those above traits Yeah it's good to have those traits. I acknowledged that in my earlier post. But not having those traits will not make anyone ugly. Because "ugly" has to do with the physical structure of the face. And mindsets and attitudes can neither degrade nor improve a man's face. At least not directly.

I was positively surprised to see how aloof many real life men are to the dating market. They’re not being “aloof”. They’re becoming blackpilled and giving up. The best thing unattractive men can do is be assertive and have other masculine traits. Being assertive and masculine won't help unattractive guys get women. But they're still good traits to have.

If the ‘bad experience’ is not getting a reward for your good behavior, especially when the other person was never told to present payment, you’re not good nor nice. If bad behavior is rewarded, then it's perfectly fine to expect a reward for good behavior. Behaving nicely without expecting a reward, at least in the form of appreciation, makes one a doormat.

What its really about is “If I was hot, I wouldn't need to work on my personality”. But that's true. As long as a guy is "hot" in the eyes of women, he really doesn't need to work on his personality. As long as he's not a complete psycho, he can easily get dates, hook-ups and long-term relationships.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/01/25 09:40 AM

I merely provided one of the reasons why less attractive men struggle with dating. You provided the ONLY reason why less attractive men struggle with dating -- "Less attractive men struggle with dating BECOUSE THEYRE UGLY" It's their looks, not their personality or attitude.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/25 07:01 PM

So aspiring to be attractive assholes who put in no effort. Attractive guys don't need to put in effort. Except for maybe walk up to women they like and start flirting. Whether they're being assholes or not is just a matter of perspective.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/25 07:00 PM

No. I'm saying a good looking guy who is an asshole will be perceived as "assertive". But an ugly guy who's just assertive will be perceived as an asshole.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/25 03:38 PM

good looks doesn't mean bad personality and bad/average looks does not mean good man. True. But people's perception of your personality depends on how attractive they find you. The guy, naturally wanting to please his lady, stops going to the gym and works less hours It all depends on how the guy looks, which shapes his confidence and assertiveness. An ugly guy would do as she says, because he's afraid of losing her. He knows it'll be difficult for him to find another woman. A good looking guy will do as he wants, because he's not afraid of losing her. He knows he can easily dump her and get another woman who doesn't tell him what to do. It all boils down to looks.

Basically the double standard refers to promiscuity in men being acceptable, while promiscuity in women being unacceptable Life is full of double standards. It's just how it is. There's also a double standard when it comes to virginity. If a woman is a virgin, it's not an issue. In fact, many would see her as pure and pristine. If a man is a virgin, he's seen as a loser.

if you are a man and you struggle with hookups and/or getting in relationships it’s not because you lack hobbies or don’t dress well. Remaining friends with an unrequited love is painful. It's entitlement to expect another to endure that pain for you. Well said. I didn't say he didn't have "the right". Then what exactly are you arguing about? Like... the ONLY way to retain him as a friend is if she lets him have sex with her? Who said anything about retaining him as a friend. The whole idea is for the friendship to develop into a romance, i.e., more than just friendship. If it doesn't happen, then the man has the right to end the friendship.

"Better for his mental health" to lose a friend he apparently loves because he can't have a relationship that lets him have sex with her? Knowing that the woman he loves is okay with letting another man stick his penis into her vagina is definitely NOT good for his mental health. If you can't grasp how much this would hurt him, I cannot help you understand it.

Of course, the circumstances that made us good friends are unique. Ok. But if you and a female friend ended up as a couple, it's because she found you physically attractive.

Are you literally incapable of being friends with someone you find attractive? I'm capable of it. It's just that I don't want to remain friends with a woman who rejects me. Nothing good can come out of it.

If you both have sexual feelings (attraction) towards eachother, are companions and like to spend time together, that is essentially a romantic relationship What's being discussed is a situation where only the man has romantic feelings for the woman.

If you spend years as a friend with someone and then end contact and friendship with them because you can't handle their rejection of your one sided physical attraction... that is disrespectful to the person you claim to have cared about It's not disrespectful if the man ends the friendship and walks away. It'll be better for his mental health. Of course, this is not a rule, just a suggestion.

You misunderstood. I'm saying if she found him physically attractive, and he makes it known that he likes her as more than a friend, she would NOT remain friends, but would become more than friends with him.

I mean, we're talking about a scenario where a man apparently says "You've been such a great friend to me that I've fallen in love with you. Enter a relationship where I can have sex with you or I will never see you again." It doesn't have to be that dramatic. But the man should be able to walk away from a woman who rejected him. The fact that they were friends in the past is immaterial.

Or it's because she doesn't want to go out with him And that is because she doesn't find him attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/25 11:40 AM

I think if she doesn't want to go out with him, she doesn't want to go out with him. If she doesn't want to go out with him, it's because she doesn't find him attractive.

She may also not want a romantic relationship "I find you physically attractive, and I'm thrilled that you see me as more than just a friend, but I must reject you because I'm not interested in a romantic relationship at this point in time" ^ Things that never happen.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/25 11:34 AM

And why does that change anything of what they said? What they said leaves out the aspect of physical attraction. If a woman found her male friend physically attractive, and then he makes it known that he's romantically interested in her, do you think she'd feel disrespected or offended?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/25 11:31 AM

Probably because of the disrespect he's shown for their supposed understanding about the nature of the relationship That's only if she doesn't find him physically attractive. If she found him physically attractive, she'd be ecstatic upon learning that he likes her as more than just a friend.

But telling 20 yo women to settle for the nice guy instead of exploring is just silly. The problem (for her) is that when she's done "exploring", the chances of her finding someone to settle down with is reduced drastically. Most dudes, nice guys or otherwise, don't want women who've been with too many men. It's just the way it is.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/01/25 01:09 PM

i mean to say attractiveness is more than just the physical appearance, All attraction begins with physical attraction. If a guy fails a woman's looks test, his other traits don't matter at all because he's out of the picture.

If a woman has to choose between 2 equally attractive dudes, she'll pick the richer one. In other words, money > everything else She'll pick the richer one because both guys meet her looks criteria. If there was a third guy who was as rich as one of the attractive dudes, she wouldn't consider him as a choice. And if both attractive guys became ugly, she'd reject both of them outright and not bother with choosing one. That's why looks > everything else.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/25 09:08 AM

It depends on what the woman is looking for. If she's looking for casual short term fun, she'll pick the better looking broke guy -- only if he is really good looking. If she's looking to settle down/marry, and can only choose between the two, she might pick the rich not very good looking guy.

Guys Usually Have Problems With Dating Because of Money, Not How They Look or Act If a woman has to choose between 2 equally rich dudes, she'll pick the better looking one. In other words, looks > everything else.

Just being able to talk to people and being able to attract women are not the same thing, or else women would be attracted to every man who talks to them. Exactly. I've been working office jobs for 20 years. I talk to people, including women, regularly. Since I'm at a senior position, I organize and lead meetings and presentations. I can confidently say I've got the social skills necessary for my job. But I've never been able to use them to attract women.

Going to gym definitely involves interacting with people. Guys with genuinely poor social skills tend to be loners and have self-esteem issues. They avoid gym and don't prioritize their health, which in turn results in them being out of shape. Your hypothetical physically fit guy with a stable, well-paying job who also lacks social skills doesn't fit the profile of someone who has poor social skills.

you meet a guy. He's 25 years old. Physically, he is very fit: he has a sixpack, runs marathons, and squats 250lbs. He works as a database engineer at some tech company and makes $150K/year. He is well groomed, has a good haircut, and lives in a nice and well-decorated appartment. He also is really good at drawing, and runs an Instagram art account with 30K followers. However, he has absolutely zero social skills. Working at a tech firm, working out at a gym, running marathons, being well groome…

I had non conventionally handsome guys approaching me and they were super nice and ended up having dates In other words, they ended up meeting the rare person (you) who gives ugly dudes a chance. It's called getting lucky. really attractive guys that made me run away So you ran away because they were really attractive?

Yeah he was hot. Ah so that explains why he was able to hook up. Maybe he had behavioral issues, but that's beside the point. You're starting to sound like him now. Permanently defeated. I'm defeated because I'm severely lacking in the looks department.

I knew him from when he was 8 till like 28. He's like 5'11 - body looked like Brad Pitt in fight club in his late 20s. Ok. But did he have a FACE like Brad Pitt's? Because the face makes all the difference. Plenty of ugly dudes go to gym and get jacked. But they still fail to get a GF because of their FACE. I'm sure he's hooked up here and there once or twice. Then he's good looking enough to be desired by some women at least for a hook up.

I've known some really good looking folks that just couldn't get rid of their incel stench Are you saying they never had a GF, or at least had sex, despite being good looking? I find that hard to believe.

The worse I act and the worse I treat women the more sex I get and it took me a while to realize exactly why that is. It has little or nothing to do with your behavior. You get women because they find you physically attractive.

Anyway, I believe this is true because even a lot of legitimately good dudes are scared to approach women now. Even if it's not consequences as drastic as public shame, guys don't want to be potentially seen as creepy or weird. Ok. But good looking dudes don't have that problem. They can approach women and not be seen as creepy or weird.

If men are capable of having hookups that mean nothing to them, then so can women. A woman with a history of hookups will be affected negatively in her later years, especially when it's time to settle down. Because most dudes don't want to settle down with women who've been with too many men. (Edit: Downvote all you want, but it's the truth lol) Inversely, a dude with a history of hookups can go ahead and settle down with the 'love of his life' without an issue.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/24 05:14 PM

TLDR: When it comes to women, “looks” IS NOT the end all be all of her carnal attraction. “Looks” is simply a litmus to enter into her orbit. It IS NOT the operative trigger for her active arousal So the "looks" test is the first hurdle a guy needs to pass. In other words, everything begins with looks. The dude usually does something or behaves in a way to mentally trigger some form of arousal that MAKES US FEEL SOMETHING. An ugly dude would fail the "looks" test, so he'll never get the chance t…

In all honesty, do you really think men, who are primarily judged on their economic and status potential should be dating when and if they find themselves unemployed or underemployed? When it comes to dating/relationships, employment status doesn't matter. All that matters is physical attraction. Once that's been established, the rest can be figured out. We all have become familiar with the arguments in this sub that Chad can be a “hobosexual” and freeload off the women he’s dating, who are actu…

A dominant, muscular, tall insensitive asshole is gonna be way more successful than a sensitive effeminate “nice guy” Absolutely. I knew a guy like that who'd talk over his GF and even say things like "no, just shut up and listen" if she said something he disagreed with. Total narcissist. He always got the women he laid his eyes upon. Of course, women said he was "really sweet on the inside". If you look good enough, and if the girl you like desires you physically, the "rules" don't matter.

Being sensitive as a guy is a good thing Given the examples you provided, being "sensitive" is a "good thing" only if the guy wants to be perceived as unmanly and soft.

Eradicate "influencer" culture: Social media is full of obscenely attractive people with perfect faces, bodies and clothes being paid to promote whatever brands are trying to sell this week. Lets end that. We don't need young people thinking they have failed if they don't look like that and dress like that and present themselves like that. But I was told that looks don't matter. So all those influencers are making money because of their personalities.

In this clip a divorced woman explains how it is okay to leave your marriage and family if you are unhappy. Just because your SO is doing all the right things on paper doesn't mean you feel in love. It doesn't mean you are happy. Makes perfect sense if you're selfish and narcissistic.
