I hope they do (feminists taking this out of contxt). Feminists are a dangerous bunch. It's too bad our side can't make common cause, and would rather gets digs in against supposed allies, rather than making a difference in the world. Go be the change you want to see. Me? I've been living rent free in another's head due to split family conflict. I'm as dangerous as I need to be, and I like talking about it with others. Helping other men through this shit is a good thing.

I wish that all men had the will and capacity. But they don't. Instead, most men are both 'nice' and compliant. The world could use more men capable of being dangerous.

I've had long thoughts about this phrase. Operative word here is 'Handle'. Do they mean 'Handle', like a door handle, or something on a pot? A grip by which you would move an object? If so, the phrase could be 'If you can't manipulate me at my worst...' On the other hand, the common phrases interpetation of 'Handle' is more similar to 'withstand'. So, 'if you can't cope with me at my worst...' Either way, I have no interest in manipulating a woman away from her worst impulses a'la 1950's. Neithe…

No, you can't force responsibility one someone, you're correct. However, it's not all about giving money to women. The rhetoric isn't wrong when they say it's all about the kid. The mechanic of wealth redistribution to give money to women is wrong, yeah. The fact that a kid needs support of some kind isn't. Your knife analogy is incorrect because a kid has needs of it's own, and a knife doesn't. But further to the point, it doesn't matter about the woman at all. The kid has needs, and those need…

Honestly, it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter what the blame is, it matters who fixes it. A far better solution is fair and equitable family law that doesn't alienate fathers by default.

This doesn't work. The knife in this analogy doesn't have any needs of it's own. A child does. Fundamentally, you're missing the point. I don't like child support, but you're wrong.

She says kill all men, then nobody got time for that. The only reason she doesn't honestly want all men dead is that she has time & resource constraints. I'd kill all the jews, but ain't nobody got time for that. Remind you of anyone?

Wut? Like, seriously. have to constantly worry because there's a 1 in 6 chance that you'll get sexually assaulted at some point in your life I read a bunch of data recently stating that a single year as an employed male is more dangerous than a lifetime as a woman having children. Men are also more likely to be the target of violent crime than women. Sorry if I'm not particularly sympathetic that bullshit claim. So first this - Sexism is rarely overt, if it was she could report it. It's systemat…

I work in tech myself, and yeah, maybe there's some subtle sexism, I'm not sure. And that's the thing about it. Maybe there's invisible pink unicorns too, but unless you can point one out, I'm not going to believe it. But one thing really sticks out. Tech is usually pretty demanding, hours wise. I can only remember one or two women who really goes the extra mile and stays all night with the coders, most of them don't.

I watched this, and it was vaguely shocking. I watched it again, and I think I picked out the top handful of parallels that are being displayed in the film.. i should talk to your wife comment from landlord I have daughters, and this happens all the time. Women constantly ask if I'm ok, or look at me strangely with kids around. People are insensitive, and if this is a gender issue, it's equal both ways. niquab discussion This is religious silliness. It may also be an attack on women, but it's al…

Yeah, starting all the process is really tough. And there's a pretty severe emotional stress-grind that goes on while fighting about it, or at least there is for me. I think it's super important to be supportive of one another. I know that if my current spouse wasn't in my life, i think i'd be having a tougher time with it. I don't know much about lawyer fees yet, as I haven't got far into it, but I would tend to agree. I think with most things, you get what you pay for, as long as you're aware …

Bubblegoose is right. The system is shut down by one side refusing to negotiate. This is compounded by the fact that parenting time is done by negotiation, and money is done by trial. In essence, money issues like support, alimony, and arrears, are done by trial where a judge will make a court order. Parenting time is done by negotiation, which means that one side refusing to negotiate means the whole process goes no where. And because the money issues are contingent on the parenting time, that …

Women own everything that exists, Men own everything that doesn't exist. This sounds sexist, but I honestly believe it. It's the default female drive to count up everything they can see, figure out whats thiers, and compare notes with neighbors. Men, in general, don't do that as much. There's a ton more of men figuring out a problem in our heads, then applying those thoughts to the real world and creating something new. Women not in tech? I work with some, and they're fantastic. I wish we had mo…

Agreed. For those that don't know, the Peter Principle is that one gets promoted to incompetence. That if you're good at waht you do, you get promoted, therefor, anyone in any position for long enough in assured to be incompetent. It might be sexism that men get promotions, but the fact that many leaders are incompetent is no suprise. I doubt that women leaders are any different or that the peter principle affects them any different.

Why are you saying that everyone that doesn't agree with you is a troll? Just because we have differing opinions doesn't our opinions as being 'trolling'. From your post history, I suspect that you probably work at Raven Studios, which doesn't have a particular history of making female centric games. I would imagine that you're probably stating things about the industry that you've learned through experience. I would also say that you're likely not trolling.

http://www.theesa.com/facts/gameplayer.asp Women play tons of games, just not the ones that guys play. Women play more casual games, often ones that don't have an avatar. The arguement about a male/female avatar is almost useless, because those games aren't aimed at women anyway.

Women aged 30+ make up a massive demographic of all video game players. There are more 30+ age women playing video games than there is teenage boys. Female/male protagonists have nothing to do with it. Women focused games usually involve casual games, solitaire & facebook games.

Oh, and it hasn't been said in the thread yet. Lawyer up, delete facebook, hit the gym. I don't know how the law works where you are, but family law is free where I am. There's a ton of young parents that need legal help, and there's plenty of it out there. Get a court order. Like, now. Like, yesterday if you can. It'll cut down on the bullshit back and forth between you and mom, and it'll give you a legal leg to stand on if you ever have to call the cops. Seriously, it's stressfull, but it does…

I was in a similar situation. From a guy that's been there, I can tell you what happened with me. I didn't get 50% custody off the get go. Child support takes about 1/3 of your post taxes income, so it's pretty substantial. So really really, get 50% custody. It's substantial, but not world ending. If you had 50% custody, it goes to almost nothing. That said, this is going to be a person, and a person that needs a dad. If you spend time with your kid, you're going to become attached to it. Love i…

Well then why bring up the pregnancy issue at all? Why restrict to women? Why not just give free HIV testing to everyone, and justify it however you want? STI testing shouldn't be solely in the realm of women, and men should take responsibility for it too.

So, what i understand you saying here is that both men and women can infect other people with HIV, some of whom can be children. That perhaps, maybe everyone should be able to get tested for HIV as a matter of public safety?

Obamacare gives women free HIV testing. You mean half the population and the proportion of the population capable of passing the virus to children? So just because men don't pass HIV to kids means that they can't be tested?

Beat her, and strike the belly. Better to go to prison for a few years than be a slave for the rest of your life. Ok, for serious. Be there for the kid from day 1. Never allow her full custody, and you'll never have to pay support.

I do disagree with male privilege though. Maybe it would be true if we were all rich old white guys, but we aren't. Last time I checked, most of the people here on reddit, male or female, hold the same shitty jobs for the same shitty hourly wage. Or maybe salary, whatever. If male privilege were a fact, then men wouldn't be sending other men to war through conscription. Hard labour would be done only by women, because male privilege would ensure that the men got thier pick of jobs. Checking your…

Yeah, I was raised primarily by my father too. Similar story. My mom was trying to get all kinds of money from him, and we were so broke we stole apples out of orchards for food. He's the better parent though. My mom was just using court as a way to get my dad's money, and my dad just wanted to take care of me. It all worked out.

It sounds like you're doing alot thats right. If it does end up in court, the court really looks favorably on dads that are involved. Just try to be there, go on school field trips, be a contact for the doctor's office, etc. Just be involved, keep notes, and everything will turn out ok. It might be tough now, but eventually, when your son is old enough, he'll be able to speak for himself. If you and him have a close relationship, maybe he'll even come to live with you some day.

I've gone through something similar, but I'm here in B.C.. I'm fairly sure that most of the family law is similar between here and ontario. There's a couple of big points that you should keep track of. It's your sons right to see you. This is above and beyond any informal agreement, and his right to see you superseeds your ex's desires. It's your sons right to have your money if you aren't a part of his normal routine. Even if your ex withholds visitation, you still have to pay child support. No…
