If I were you, for preemptive purposes, I'd explore the possibility of filing a police report or incident report or whatever they call it. Officially just to memorialize the incident, record witnesses names and contact info, yada yada. No charges, but just some way to get the incident (and your side of the story) officially on record. The US laws on these are without gender, afaik. The issue is how the jurisdictions interpret/apply these laws based on PP sensitivity. So it depends. I would imagine that the more conservative the state or jurisdiction, the more difficult it would be for a man to have a case not influenced by a PP.
