Nothing, same as before in the marriage. If he were to start spending money irresponsibly then perhaps the court would grant this as grounds for divorce. If she were to do so it seems like he wouldn't care very much.

Australian Dollarydoos are only worth 75% of US Dollars, and cost of living is similar in major cities. Taking Sydney vs. Boston you would need to be making $113k AUD to be equivalent to $85k USA. Also for the above salary range it is not uncommon for the employer to pay 10% of salary for health insurance and 5% of salary for retirement benefits in addition to payroll taxes. I don't know what the benefits situation is like in Australia but that should be taken into consideration for USA salaries…
