It's not 'men's fault' it's a societal issue that needs addressing. It's predefined gender roles which are a symptom of patriarchy. It's a Judge, born in the 50s that never knew anyone but their mother as the person who took care of him and his siblings while their father was at the office for 12 hours a day. The lawyer who wouldn never change a diaper because that's 'women's work'. The boss, who won't let a father take paternity leave because it's not the man's place to take care of a small chi…

Patriarchy is an issue, and actually the mothers tending to get custody is a symptom of it. It's part of the broader discussion on sexism and the role of men and women. Our patriarchal society puts men in the role of the worker and women in child/home care. It's the patriarchy that defaults custody to mothers.

I know you're all just living in Michagan and are pulling my leg about places that may or may not exist beyond the edge of the USA map I have on the wall.

Yeah, unless I had video, I'd never be the one to call police, because if they show up, I'm the one most likely to go to jail for the night, which would fuck my career opportunities. Not worth the risk in any way.

The implicit 'too' really should have been included in the slogan, would have really helped their case against people who don't understand what they're fighting against... It seems like most of the opposition treats their slogan as 'ONLY BLM', instead of 'BLM too'. (please see below for a perfect example of this)

It's like calling a group of white people 'whites' it's fine when talking about demographics, but when you're addressing people directly it's inappropriate. It's like if you said 'hey you white, fill out this survey'. You're a person, not a color, and they're people, not a sex.

But then it's usually used in context as an adjective, as in, 'the female lion', or in this case, the non offensive use would have been 'female students'. Using just female by itself to describe a group of people is a bit dehumanizing and some people find it demeaning.

Male and female are usually adjectives. In use, you'd say 'female students', not just female by itself, that would be the non-offensive way to use female to describe women. Referring to a group as just males or females is a bit demeaning. Usually the noun is inferred, so in like a documentary, after they introduce the animal, they will often shorten it to 'the male' or 'the female' instead of saying 'the female lion'. But using just the first part by itself is a slightly dehumanizing to a lot of…

Keep chasing that rainbow. You have some misguided idea about what you're missing, like someone stole your unicorn... You're putting your missing foreskin on a pedestal that it isn't worthy of. I HAD one, I remember what it was like, and it was severely, meh.

I had a choice, and I went with complete removal... You lost all of those functions. As someone who has had it both ways, I DISAGREE. I have no issues with any of those things as compared to before. Were you circumcised after puberty? Have you had sex both before and after circumcision? Probably not, but I have.

I had mine done as a teen due to medical reasons. regardless of the reason, I MUCH prefer it the way it is now. So many of these people act like it's cutting off your toes or something, it's crazy. I'd say it's more akin to cutting off an earlobe, it looks different now, but you haven't lost any functionality (unless you really want to wear earrings I guess :P)

The thing is, Republican is a group of people with a broad range of idologies, there's no static definition of a republican, but feminist is defined as someone who fights for equality of the sexes, it's the nutjobs who claim they are feminist in violation of the definition who are the problem. It's like if a oil mogul claimed he was an environmentalist while approving fracking projects in the name of saving the environment, and now you're saying to the treehuggers that they shouldn't call themse…
