This is the key point: saying “buy a girl dinner” only works because there’s an understood expectation that a guy pays. If that expectation didn’t exist anymore, that phrasing wouldn’t even make sense. And no, pretending this could just as easily mean a girl buying her girlfriend dinner doesn’t change that. In this context, that’s a stretch and ignores how the phrase is normally used. You can say things are more mixed now, that’s fine. But the fact that this is still the default framing shows th…

I had actual proof, she had a hypothetical, she never said anything about her family, she asked the reader to imagine asking this if theirs and then ASSumed the outcome in a way that supports her narrative. My experiences certainly do not speak for everyone but it highlights that this strawman she's constructed is exactly that.

“Patriarchy” just becomes a catch-all scapegoat yet again. It also ignores that women actively participate in shaping and reinforcing these norms. Not everything can be reduced to men imposing preferences.

And if those men refuse the governrment in which they were born into is empowered to arrest them and throw them in prison. By your logic, the women dealing with abusive husbands have a much easier tribulation to overcome!

Until you travel and see other cultures, you'd be corrected and see that you are the one who has it backwards

Your original point was that if someone talks to “any” elderly female relative, they’d basically confirm your view. That clearly implies it was the norm, not just “not a minority.” Now you’re walking that back while acting like the implication wasn’t there. You’re not correcting a misunderstanding, you’re shifting the claim and then telling me to “improve my reading comprehension” when I responded to what you actually said.

"Your grandparents may have been happy but there is a high chance that there’s a traumatic reason why they were." Why because your grandparents weren't or because it fits your narrative better?

Now you are just being disingenuous. You said : "if you simply talk to an elderly female relative. Any one of them" So the implication here is that any random person reading your comment could ask ANY ONE of their female relatives if they loved their husband or would marry them again and we are now supposed to assume you did not mean most of them?! Why would you even try to bring it up as some kind of rhetorical "gotcha" otherwise?

I was addressing your claim that most women of that generation never loved their husbands or vice versa.

nature abhors a vacuum. What else was gonna happen? We demonized a generation of young men that masculinity is toxic. They grew up watching TV shows where the father figure was a buffoon who was a punchline while the wife always knew best. Women wanted men to be more in touch with their feelings and more sensitive.

I just have to comment on your accurate point about women being masculinized today because I find it ironic that as feminism gained power, FEMININITY was one of the very first casualties.

" if you simply talk to an elderly female relative. Any one of them. Ask them if they truly liked their husband when they got married, if they still liked their husband now, and if they had a choice, would they do it again?" I have plenty of elderly people in my own family who stayed happily married to the end and loved and supported each other to the end. They deeply mourned if one of them died! I'm aware of plenty of others beyond my immediate family. You modern feminists love to have this rev…

She said: “I know right, and it’s always teens that haven’t moved out of home that can’t even afford to buy a girl dinner bitching about it.” The thread is about provider males, and she brings up teens not being able to afford dinner as if that’s already expected of them. The implication is pretty clearly that the teen “bitching” is male, both because of the “buy a girl dinner” framing and because the topic itself is about provider males. Put that together and it’s obvious she’s taking a shot at…

Maybe it is different with the latest generation of teens but I would think there is still an expectation that the boy pays.

"Men aren’t being oppressed at all today in the same manner that women were being oppressed in the past" Really? Let's look at what men in the past lived like.. it wasn't some golden age for men as many women like to paint it as.... Forced into wars and expected to fight and die, often with no real choice Seen as disposable in crises, with the expectation to sacrifice themselves first (“women and children first”) Pushed into the most dangerous and physically demanding jobs, leading to high injur…

"Catharsis, indeed. It's psychology affirmation of patriarchal male imperatives" Wrong. the catharsis comes from someone saying out loud what many men have witnessed with their own eyes or own experiences when the current culture shames or ostracizes anyone who attempts to do so... such as they do with red pill. Modern women hold most of the power in modern society now, but they still invoke the so-called “patriarchy” as a catch-all scapegoat because without it, they would be required to be more…

"Their interpretation of their interactions with women" You could say the same about radical feminists or simply most feminists today. It's their interpretation of their interactions with the men they CHOSE to associate and continue to associate with after they should have known better because they lack the accountability and self reflection to make better choices. Red pill is often simply a feeling of catharsis that someone is finally saying something that doesn't feel like gaslighting since ou…

“Oppression” doesn’t suddenly mean men had it easy. Men were expected to be disposable. Go to war, take the most dangerous jobs, provide no matter what, handle anything risky or violent, and keep their mouth shut about it. Fail at any of that or question it and you were mocked and considered useless. That wasn’t some privileged free ride. Women absolutely had struggles. No one’s denying that. But acting like men were just coasting through history back then is revisionist nonsense. The whole poin…

If there were some similar expectation of women that was equally unpleasant, I can PROMISE you that they would whinging as well! For that matter, women should be expected to sign up for the draft along with the men! After all, we have equality now. Women are serving in the armed forces. It should be like Israel where both able bodied young adults serve no matter the gender.

"Being a homemaker makes you a woman. Non homemaker women are so masculine to me. " "Being modest and chaste makes you woman, Non modest and chaste women are so masculine to me" See how ridiculous you sound in 2026 with the genders and expectations mirrored back?

The problem is that many women think they are owed this simply for existing. Their social media constantly reinforces it.. "You are a Queen" , " Never settle!" We used to have a social contract in the past where men would provide and women would take care of the home and raise children. Now women work and most kids are raised in daycare. The expectations for men have not really changed while absolutely nothing is expected from women anymore, if you ask them what they bring to the table, they say…

Bullshit. Any man with any self respect is not going to continue to put up with childish shit tests. The men who stay will be low value and she will eventually or maybe immediately get the "ick" for him for not having a backbone. How about grown women learn to communicate like adults or learn to judge character without childish, middle school level crap like shit tests? Men who have dealt with this know that it's not going to end.. It's not like they will pass some threshold of approval and the …

Bisexual men have consistently reported that most women they encounter are extremely homophobic regarding not being interested in a man who has been with another man, especially if he leans more submissive or feminine in relationships with men. Why are so many women insistent upon tall men, if not for evolutionary psych influences? Why do so many women, despite equality insist that men make the first move in dating, plan and pay for the date and act like he is on a job interview for her approval…

If women consistently choose to associate with shitheads, that does not absolve the shitheads of acting like shitheads, granted. However if this is a pattern in many women's lives, they should have the self reflection and personal accountability to choose different men. They rarely do. Another issue is that many women act like a hive mind and do the same things that they see other women doing. It's a well known fact that if women know that another woman is attracted to you, that is probably the …

I've overheard women saying things like "I know this guy is bad for me but..." and date them anyway. I've seen women in my life from family, friends and coworkers, consistently date men who they knew were bad news...and they were not to my knowledge abused in the past and they were all well educated. I think it’s biological to a large degree. Women are attracted to confidence, strength, and power. The issue is that attraction seems to get triggered by a surface level expression of those traits, …
