I see what you mean. I wasn't considering televised sports. That's definitely a waste of time, as any way of spending large amounts of time in front of a tv is. It's a strange fascination that gets overlooked in our society.

An example that breaks abdada's logic is if I was a professional guitarist, why wouldn't I go to concerts to see other talented guitarists? How could I devote a significant part my life to something and not spend time immersed in it, enjoying it, learning from others and respecting peers who share my passion.
