I completely agree with you, and didn't mean to negate that with my previous comment. My advice to OP would be to definitely just forget that race is a thing - forget that people recognize it, forget that the world has classified us a certain way. To just go out and talk like a man of no specific race. I found that it's very easily distinguished between people who are cemented in their ideas and those who aren't, and those who never had them in the first place. I just meant that once he approach…

See, that's something I don't understand. Personally, if someone wants to think that about me - effeminate, nerdy, asocial - then I'm not sure I want to change that. I'm personally none of those things, and I'd rather not start on such a low footing with someone new and prove myself to them. Sorry, but that's not how it works. Agreed. I'm regularly sociable during sober times, but whenever I get too much purp inside me (which doesn't take a lot these days, I've not smoked in a long time so tolerance has gone quite down), fuck being social. I get too in my head about shit and can only chill with a couple of my closest buds. This isn't a pick-up or confidence thing, it's just an effect that weed has on some people.

The comment he was replying to wasn't talking about women's shelters at all. It was about the control of language and how that control is reflected in policy, where the product of such influence can contribute to a preference for one gender over another in terms of social assistance. You not only misinterpreted the person you raged at, you misinterpreted the person he was responding to, making up a false context within which you acted on a very emotional reaction, focusing solely on the phrase "…

Are you implying that I do not have "normal social awareness" Yes, he is. someone labeling my gender as complicit (and/or active) in a secret pact of oppression? He mentioned nothing about your gender, and you're putting words in his mouth. Are you someone who is convinced that she has it worse and constantly insisting that men always have it better? If not, then calm down, he's not talking about you.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
