One of the things that amazed me, was that there were still three more charge accounts that I did not know about. The wife also managed to open two new charge accounts in the first week. Because of the forwarding of the mail to the POBox, I got to see those statements, and, close them. Another thing I learned was how much she was abusing drugs and alcohol. It was amazing the level of it. I visited the 3 closest liquor stores, and found she had two “in house” charge accounts. Closed them. After i…

Eat Cutting sugar and carbs fairly well. Increasing protein. In combination with workouts it's given me fewer crashes and mid-afternoon grogginess. Keep cutting out more booze, carbs, and sugars. Goal is a diet consisting of very little if any carbohydrates and lots of meats, paleo-style. Lift Got an app called "Fitbod". Terrible name, but sweet app. It gives workout guidelines based on difficulty level and keeps track of reps, sets, and weight. Most interestingly, it tracks what muscle groups a…

The more I refuse to engage my wife in petty squabbles, the more I employ STFU, lift, go do something productive, etc., the colder and more distant she becomes. I must be doing some shit wrong because she is worse than ever. I'm not the man she married, she says, and she's right. Work out more, and harder. Even if that means doing pushups and situps in the closet at work, which I've done. Read more, in general. Embrace reading as a leisure activity. Use it as training for a longer attention span…

I need to find the balance between having a life of my own and "doing it for the kids." To a mother, her children are an extension of her own ego. So when she says "You need to spend time with your children," she's not wrong, but I need to keep an eye on that shit and find out where the line is between running my own life and spending time with my kids on my terms. I would like to be, and have the ability to be, out of the house all day every Saturday doing things I like with friends. That isn't…

Now is the perfect time for a revival of folk religions. Better than Christianity is Germanic/Norse Asatru. Masculinity, honor, loyalty, fidelity, and hard work are all central.

Owning I am now lifting every morning, followed by a cold shower (barely warmer than the point of pain). This on its own has improved SO MANY aspects of my life. I have more energy, I think more clearly, I am less depressed, less anxious, and more assertive. Maintaining this is a huge must. Took my son for a hike. Just the two of us, no wife. When we finished, we were sweaty and exhausted. He loved it. I'm going to make it a fairly ferequent thing. Went out and played some D&D on Saturday evenin…

I'm no expert, but that sounds like the point I'm at right now, which I have heard called "skinny-fat". It's weird, but I'm pretty sure it means progress. So keep lifting, bro.

Didn't want to put it into a public post. I've never been able to get it into my head that I should shower and brush teeth every day as an automatic routine. Having a routine at all has generally been difficult. Maybe I'm fucking autistic, I don't know. Lately, I've been lifting and showering (cold) most mornings, but I'm still not there yet. Always more to do.

Heh, hardly. Once thing I've managed to internalize is that any success need not be celebrated, because I'm always far from done.

Never written it down before. It's time to get serious. I've been casually applying frame and mindset changes for months, but have been lazy and complacent in journaling and escalating my own self-improvement regimen. Gotta start somewhere. Based on the 60 days from the sidebar: Lifting Bought a cheap set of dumbbells some time ago. They're just heavy enough to give me a nice workout high. I need to get more serious about lifting daily. I skip too many days. Also, see about adding more weight to…
