This line gets me : “other couples manage to do this without paying their wives to have children”. Yes, because they are ACTUALLY married, dipshit!

Going home to work, or going home to his wife? Biggest vetting thing for me would be: how open is he to the idea of you visiting him at his place?

Definitely this. I’m old enough that if I ever said out loud that I wouldn’t date a single father, I’d be crucified. But, I’m really hard pressed to think of a scenario where it could be ok, all roads seem to point to him being trash. Like maayybbee if he’s a widower, and it’s been a long time since she died, and he’s gotten whatever therapy and has learned to be independent in the meantime? Idk.

Oh thank goodness. This is awesome. I haven’t looked at redpillwives before, because I had assumed it was a married-only space. I’ve been reading RPW for a couple years now, but had become frustrated with how it was modded and the questionable advice the men were giving. A few months ago I finally peaced out to save my sanity. Nice to have some content to read again.

I feel like this too at times, I don’t think it’s wrong. If I guy wants to take care of me, I feel more valued by him. The pure 50/50 splitting every bill doesn’t feel so romantic. But, I don’t think it’s something you can ask for. The gift won’t mean as much if it wasn’t his idea, right?

There are men who maybe lurk on TRP who come over here angry- they are swiftly downvoted or removed by the mods, so that’s a good thing. But then you have the ones who may have mastered TRP and are plate spinning giving advice based on what they are looking for, and I just don’t think that is relevant for the women asking advice. The RPW does not want to attract a plate spinner. Depending on how it was presented, sometimes this advice is upvoted quite a bit.

Well, yeah. But those guys have a lot of power here, so there’s really nothing you can do. I’ve just been spending less and less time here because I don’t think getting annoyed over those comments is productive for me.

I never got the impression that she was being fake. But her content is “off” to me in another way- I don’t like how she presents ideas like she’s the authority, she came up with all these things on her own, gleaned from her life experience. Like dude, you’re what, 22?? Probably she read self help books like Surrendered Wife and similar. I don’t think it would kill her to say things like, “I read this idea X and it made total sense”. (Or maybe I am salty because I was definitely not that observan…

I don’t really agree. I think with dating advice, you want advice from someone who has dated, especially in the age bracket which you are trying to date. Someone who married their first love might be in an enviable position, but probably won’t have solid dating advice.

Oh god no! I hate to out myself as a former wow player but I have such strong feelings about not looking for a partner on wow. I mean, it worked out for you, so congrats on that. I played for a number of years and it’s just such an easy way for married men to emotionally cheat. Some were open about it - they would talk about their wife and kids in group voice and be whispering me to flirt (I never encouraged this). Some would hide it and I’d find out later when they wouldn’t allow me to friend t…

This used to be a big concern of mine. I thought not being interesting enough was my biggest problem, and I did all sorts of things to attempt to remedy this, from trips to learning languages to new hobbies. One of my biggest takeaways from RP content is that this doesn’t matter nearly as much as you think it does. I think it’s more of a movie thing- the girl catches the guy’s attention because she is into a rare hobby or has a snappy one-liner. About being dismissive though, that is something t…

Instead of starting from the mindset of: ‘we’re going to combine finances, so I need someone who could handle that’, you might instead want to look for compatibility when it comes to mindset about money. For example, are you two in similar places on the spendy-frugality spectrum? Do you carefully consider purchases or are you more impulsive? How much do you look to the future vs live in the now? What kinds of debt are you comfortable with taking on, or is no debt important? And so on. Once you f…

If you’re discussing your recent breakup with your bumble prospects, then you probably aren’t ready to date. Take some time to yourself to reflect and heal. You don’t share the circumstances of your breakup, but generally you don’t want to make a habit of letting someone leave you and come back. There is reason you broke up.

It’s not a sorority, it’s just a subreddit. If you feel like you get something out of reading, then go for it. It seems you may need to think more on what you want, what is really important to you. What do you want to prioritize? I’m reading that you want an ambitious career (doctor?), but want a guy that makes more. You want a guy who is a leader, but not too much of a leader. I think you are setting yourself up to be unsatisfied.

It’s good that you’ve found a motivating factor, but make sure you are doing these things because you want to become healthier for yourself. Remember you haven’t met this man yet, so don’t put him on a pedestal. A three month deadline sounds pretty harsh. As long as you are moving towards your goals, you are doing good.

I know you’re going to get some comments here putting you down and saying you cannot giveth and then taketh away. Read the instructions that come with the wax and follow carefully. It will tell you what you need to know. How often- as often as you want. You shouldn’t keep waxing over the same patches of skin on the same day, though. Hair length needs to be long enough for wax to grip on, but if it starts to curl, then it’s too long and needs to be trimmed. I find pre-wax oil to be helpful, it keeps the wax from sticking to the skin, so it is a little less painful when you pull it off. I don’t put anything o…

I don’t have advice with regard to your relationship with your mother, but do want to comment to advise you to really think through what it means to date someone on work visa. It’s not racism for her to be concerned about this (well it could be that too, I don’t know her). It’s a hard road ahead of you. What will you do if he has to leave the country? Or even if he wants to by choice? Would you move to his? Would you be allowed to move to his? He’ll have to jump through hoops to stay, and your r…

Ok, I won’t make any assumptions about your culture. But you’ve already been sleeping together and bought a house together, why weren’t these things an issue before? And if he doesn’t want to have sex with you anyway...that is something you should unpack before you guys get married.

So, your boyfriend may be like me. When I see “decorative” items, trinkets, posters, etc, I just think : Clutter. And clutter equals stress. My walls are empty, my table surfaces are empty, and I would have it no other way. I would think this especially true if you only have 600sq ft. You would open the door and see...stuff crammed everywhere. It’s not a cozy inviting space without, well, space.

This was my thought as well. He seemed to indicate that he would commit after 6 months, then found other excuses to put it off. If “we don’t see each other often enough” is the reason, then either he is seeing others to fill the time, or he wants to continue to have the option open to see others. Either way, not a good sign for the OP.

I don't have advice for you but just wanted to say I can relate to this. It reminds me a bit of my first boyfriend. There was an undertone of our plans being a bit of an inconvenience for him, but he'll do it for me. I even remember thanking him on a few occasions, just for showing up. I would genuinely feel gratitude towards him for not cancelling. Kind of messed up in retrospect, no? With my current boyfriend, it would absolutely never occur to me to thank him for seeing me. "if you have something interesting to say, message me" This might sound fine in Polish, but in English it kind of sounds like you look down on the reader. So in that case I would change this to something more positive and approachable. Try not to take it personally if a guy just wants a hookup. Just delete conversation from the app and your mind and keep on moving. Finding the ones who are serious about finding a relationship will be a numbers game.

I live about 45 min from a major city. Most all 20s-30s have moved TO the city, leaving the suburbs full of families and older folk. For a lot of men in the city, 45 min is too far to consider a date. And for those who don’t think it’s too far- could they be having trouble finding closer dates? It’s a weird place to be.

Do you have a nice magnified makeup mirror/vanity? Something to consider: while these are nice for getting every detail perfect, they can absolutely work against you. I know when I sit at my makeup desk, it is just about impossible to only put on lipstick and walk out the door. My skin is so red! My blemishes are so obvious! I have to spend time fixing all this before I can leave. But yet, when I go on vacation, I hardly wear any makeup. In the hotel bathroom mirror, I look just fine without it.

You guys can not afford vacation. The fact that he expects you to blow through your savings is highly concerning. Best case scenario-he is irresponsible and doesn’t understand money matters, in which case you should reconsider staying with him. Worst case-he is using you for the free vacation and doesn’t see anything long term.

I would be put off by this. I’ll agree with others that in this case it’s more the lack of tact than the asking to split itself. So, my opinion of the asking to split by itself, had he been more classy about it: I feel it to be a sign of low effort. Not a dealbreaker necessarily, unless it presents with more signs of low effort. Splitting the check is a good way to make the evening feel like it’s not a date, you’re just hanging out. I would never use the phrase “red pill” in a real life conversation. You are allowed to have the preference of being feminine/traditional regardless of what reddit you read.
/r/RedPillWomen26/11/19 11:08 PM

I’ve thought about this too. But it’s not as though, you find “the one”, and then you live in a state of perfect bliss the rest of your life. There are no guarantees in life, and always new challenges. In the meantime, you can still find satisfaction in self improvement for your own sake, and working on your (non relationship oriented) goals. Also, work on building your support circle. Close female friends are good to have.

I get it. I started feeling this way since I first found TRP. I think the best thing is just going to be less reddit time, particularly less relationship-oriented reddit. It sounds like you're using lack of money to justify what could be an fwb situation. It he wanted, he could come up with things to do that are free or low cost. And saying "I wish we saw each other more" could easily be interpreted as you wanting to Netflix and chill more. He can't read your mind. Try suggesting to him a specific low cost date idea that isn't "Netflix and chill" and gauge his reaction. Does he seem hesitant to agree to it?

There is a piece of information missing here- how long were you seeing him before becoming exclusive? If you were exclusive from day 1- it may have been that he just didn't happen to be seeing anyone else, not that he was choosing to not see anyone else. And maybe he isn't ready to choose exclusivity. However, if you guys had been dating awhile and then chose to be exclusive, and 2 months later he's on Tinder - Hard Next.

The comments are only because you are presenting yourself differently than what they are used to seeing. Once it is the new norm for you, they won't question. From the perspective of someone who is into makeup and can easily tell when someone is wearing it: Doesn’t matter at all. If I saw someone in real life with dramatic highlight and contour, would I think they look silly? Yes. Would I think they are lying or cheating? No. Keep in mind that what you see on IG is not representative of what you see IRL. A person caked in makeup IRL will look like a person caked in makeup. In photos, lighting and filters can fool you.

Given that you are posting on RPW, I’m going to assume a relationship is your goal. Next time he asks you to do something, ask if it’s a date. Be really careful about continuing to “hang out” and mess around without confirmation that you two are dating- this can easily go into situationship/fwb territory.

I think you may be underestimating the number of men who indiscriminately swipe right, or those who just aren’t serious about meeting people. No bio is an indicator of low effort. A bit of a red flag. Be a little more liberal with your right swipes and send a few messages. You can always stop swiping once you have a couple conversations going.

My understanding of it is: that, as a girlfriend, you are maintaining independent lives. You’re not living together, not intertwining finances, and not cleaning his house on a regular basis. You are making time for your own hobbies and friends and allowing him to do the same.

I think most men would like a woman to be forward. However, in my experience, there are two problems with this for the RPW. First, it becomes harder to tell if his interest in you is genuine, or if he is going along with it because he likes the attention or is hoping for easy sex. Second, you are starting things off in the dominant position. If you would prefer to have a traditional dynamic, this might be difficult to achieve. Great post idea, thanks for this. I don't think fitness is an indicator of TRPness, but I avoid the really fit guys all the same. If there is a toxic person in your life, you have no obligation to continue to spend time with them. However, I think you would regret letting all your friendships die and then needing to totally lean on your husband for social support. Is it really that inconvenient to see them once in awhile? Personally I do wish I had more close female friends, it is something I am working on.

Getting enough sleep is key. It is really hard to care about your appearance if you are rushing to get out the door. I like to set an ideal bedtime, and then designate the hour before as reserved for the following: bedtime grooming routine, light tidying, or setting up for the next morning (ie packing lunch, picking outfit).

Honestly, the number 1 thing TRP taught me is not to trust men, and to vet carefully when I date. I was probably naive before, I believed most people wanted love and relationships. And sure there were players out there, but they were the minority so I didn't need to worry about them, right?
