I'm not unfamiliar with the argument. If you're right, then I am a misanthrope, and I hate the human race, male and female, because that would mean that no person can get over their primal instincts to be decent and empathetic. If you're wrong, then I quite like humanity. We can't certifiably and undeniably prove either, though, can we? Because that would require us to be able to read minds or change genders at will.

That's a bizarre statement. Exactly one woman I know has anything close to orbiters - if you really stretch the idea -, and I have known and befriended quite a few. Some aren't conventionally attractive enough to have orbiters. Out of those who do, some are not socially active enough to gather the orbiters. And even those who check both boxes, most find the orbiter-like behavior at best annoying and pestering, and at worst deranged and disturbing. Not saying that there are no women who both have…

Ideally, I would say to be neither, but that may just boil down to personal preference. I'm a guy, but I get the hunch that, even if I were a woman, I'd feel deeply uncomfortable about this whole "orbiter" shtick, let alone if there was multiple of them. It all reeks of unhealthy parasocial or imaginary relationships, unfulfilled needs unconsciously being fed in unhealthy ways, and issues all around, on all sides. Not talking about OP, of course, but the kinds of women who find themselves in the…

Also, it’s not even necessarily true that it’s what they want, but what they think they want. I’m sure the women who wrote “no hookups” mean it when they write it, but in reality we all know they don’t follow through. I don't know if I want to discuss the validity of this statement, factually. No matter reality, I prefer - perhaps idealistically - to think of people as self-aware and responsible for their own being, until proven otherwise. Perhaps it's not the best approach to dating, but I beli…

Not OP, but I guess it's important to remember that anything anyone says, they inevitably and unquestionably say from their own perspective and experience. That's not to say that I don't agree with the two commenters before your comment, it's just to say that you can't exactly expect a monkey to adequately describe what it's like to be a parrot, or to value the life style of a parrot. It's in the name: values. Values affect attitudes. And what you've happened to notice here is their attitude tow…

Imagine that someone - not necessarily a guy or a girl - came up to you and, whether it be directly or indirectly, asked you to be one of their, if not the only, main sources of happiness. I think that most of us realize, upon truly imagining this, how undesirable of a position that is to be in, for multiple reasons too. Reasons I won't go into detail to describe here, because I trust that everyone reading my comment will be able to find their own truth. But, generally speaking, we don't want to…

I got the exact same feeling about this post, until I got to the end. I think that the post is telling you to better yourself for yourself, while disguising itself as what it appears to be - doing everything for a crumb of pussy. And, I think that this is, if intentional, pretty smart! This is going to lure in and convince the kind of people who wouldn't normally take the "better yourself for yourself" advice seriously. It fools you into thinking that you're doing this for pussy. But, if you do …

I'm not speaking from a place of understanding the "arts" of seduction, or from a place of being all that experienced with relationships or such things. I've been in a few relationships, currently am in one. I both agree and disagree with this post. On one hand, being able to resist your own sexual desire, or sexual provocation from others can be pretty hot, whether you're a guy or a gal. On the other hand, I think that a better attitude to have here is not necessarily that resisting the temptat…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
