Well from a non-biased perspective, you say 'you are my type' to anyone, (e.g. guy to girl) will give false sense of expectations to the end receiver. Yes the statements you said don't mean you want a relationship, but did you two ever get intimate? Or was it purely friends and he had never made a move on you.
