132	Fact checked Unfortunately that was just about her entire campaign. I remember being in class and hearing about my classmates being so excited that we’re finally going to have a female president. Nothing about her policies, or questioning the Clinton corruption, just emotional speeches about needing a woman at the head of the country. I’m all for a female president, but I want a competent president first, gender is a nonfactor. I agree that men face oppression, but it appears to be at the hand of a patriarchal system that is enforced by those (men and women) invested in maintaining that system. Thoughts? I don’t believe that America is a true patriarchy, if that’s what you were getting at. Perhaps I should have mentioned that. It’s pretty dumb in my eyes when I see women running around blaming their shortcomings on a patriarchy when in fact it’s a system where you have to put in effort in order to get what you want. I think women definitely dominate men in social aspects and have for a long time. I think the sort of consensus that women need to be protected means they get away with a lot of things men can’t get away with. I don’t think a patriarchal system is necessarily a bad thing, that a patriarchal system automatically means that women are being oppressed.
