It is possible that the decline of monogamy contributes to more depression. But I think it would be highly unlikely that the decline of monogamy is the only factor. We nowadays live in a very competitive world which is also a root cause of more depression / anxiety related issues.

Interesting perspective. I guess a LTR can give you very high ''highs'', but also very low ''lows''. Your friends could be unhappy because they try to find their happiness in the girls/guys they are sleeping with.

The comments on that post show a huge confirmation bias. I only found 1 or 2 people who said that the exact opposite happened and people who commented on that tried to find all kind of reasons how that possible could have happened. Just as a scientist we should try to falsify a theory.

Any advice? Do I Just set my boundaries and tell her that friends are important to me?

Well guess what, the majority of women won't contact you first. They don't feel the need to get out of their validation cocoon. You are only important when you are in front of her.

Not really true in my opinion. There are a lot of timewasters (probably 90% out there) who just want to get validated by some beta bucks. A lot of girls don't want to leave their houses. Not every girl on Tinder wants to fuck.

Well some Tinder guides on TheRedPill disagree with you, but I understand what you mean. Though not asking what she is looking for can lead to getting no escalation at all and being her go-to guy. I also only ask it after I built some rapport.

What if I just straight up call out on that? Something like '' Well that has to be one of the best excuses, does that still work? ''

''I am not an alpha yet''. I would advice to not use it in this context. Being alpha is more behavior bounded and there is not such a thing as what you call alpha males. We use these terms to demonstrate the difference between good and bad behavior. I believe that nobody is born as an alpha male, you just adjust your behaviour because you learn throughout your life.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
