There's a few states where 16 is the age of consent - I live in one of them. Doesn't mean it's morally ok...I think the bigger problem here though is that she was in a parental role, as well as breaking the age of consent in her state. Pretty disgusting.

Generally, assault doesn't even have to be physical contact - it can be posturing, or making someone feel physically threatened. My brother-in-law got charged with assault for trying to hold his recent ex's hand a few years ago, and I got charged with it as a child for throwing a pack of gum 5 feet to the right of my mother.

I see. My ex couldn't even cock my airsoft rifle - granted I use ones used in training sims, but still, I can do it with one hand, or with two like butter, and I'm not very strong. The only problem I can trily think of for this is the blast radius for grenades. I remember seeing a video of women in basic training having to stand behind blast shields to throw them far enough. The way I see it, women are more emotional beings, and can be stronger/weaker in that area than men, and tend to be less physically fit. Men are more physical with similar fluctuations, and tend to be less emotionally driven/capable. Doesn't make us or them inferior, just different. Like puzzle pieces.

My brother once got kicked in the nuts once for holding a door open for someone. It happened to be a feminist. It's the polite thing to do when anyone is behind you and the doors automatically close. Now, out of fear of a repeat, we just let them slam in people's faces, regardless if it hits them or not, or what they're carrying. That could potentially cause more problems though.

No, but I grew up in my mother's abusive home, and my father couldn't do much because of how the courts were at the time. The hell I went through (and was born with - mental crap) will haunt me for the rest of my life, and all I wanted to do is to go live with my father who could have provided support, and not neglect, physical, and sexual abuse. I'm glad to see things are changing.

I didn't realize you were based out of Vermont. I'm from New Hampshire. It's so hard to believe the whole country is so bigoted that there is almost no help for male victims. What you are doing is an amazing thing. My problems go way beyond just that incident though, and I had repressed it until recently. It's the person, not the gender, that makes poor decisions. There should be equal action for both of us. Women still have it tough, whether or not they can manipulate anything to their will.
