Thinking should start before you read the sources...

"dressing sexy" ie seeking validation ie negative self image. A little bit of thinking goes a long way lol

Some people steal because they want something. Doesn’t mean they should be treated as a thief. Some people murder because they dislike someone. Doesn’t mean they should be treated as a murderer. I know I’m cherry-picking but my god, the lack of accountability is toddler-like. And while self objectification shouldn’t reduce your humanity, it’s completely fair if it reduces your perceived class.

Wearing whatever you want isn't morally wrong, but dressing in a way that makes you look less serious and then being taken less seriously by people is pretty basic

"Self-objectification is a psychological process in which a person views themselves as a physical object first and a human being second. As a result, the person can be hypercritical of their body and parts of their body." Arroyo A, Segrin C, Harwood J. Appearance-related communication mediates the link between self-objectification and health and well-being outcomes. Hum Commun Res. 2014;40(4):463-482.

More than enough =/= more than women. And I'd wager most people don't view those men as being as respectable as a guy who just covers up a bit

Not necessarily equating the two, but if the brand you create for yourself revolves around your face and body, don't be surprised when people don't see you as much more than that.

If you act sexually provocative, it's completely reasonable to see you as being more sexualized, and if that isn't something you value, then respect you less than someone who's a bit more classy. If someone acts like a child, you wouldn't treat them like a professional.

It means you need to have accountability. If you behave a certain way, it's on you when people treat you a certain way.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/23 11:27 PM

Exactly. It's literally impossible that men objectify women more when women are the one's treating themselves like objects.

Someone posting thirst trap stuff is obviously into it more than the average woman. Then they shouldn't expect the same treatment as someone who doesn't do that, right?

If I go outside nude because it's a bit warm, I might not be trying to get fucked, but I'm still being provocative. Social norms and classiness don't bend at your convenience.

I can say it because it's true without any extra context. Baseline oxytocin plasma levels are 3x higher in women than in men. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6446474/

That means that women are dishing out the love then, no?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/23 06:31 AM

Interesting study for sure, but the one I was referencing for my 3x figure only looked at women who were off the pill.

Lack of monogamy is certainly a bad idea, and most men certainly have enough oxytocin to maintain monogamy. However, given that women have substantially more even without giving birth, could it be argued that they're more inclined towards loving their partners?

with peace and love, I see exactly why you got upset about me mentioning autism

To be clear, do you personally think these studies are lies/pushing an agenda or do you just think PPD will interpret them that way?

Relax champ, it was a tiny detail at the end of the post to show an extreme end of the spectrum. I even started the post off with the study showing very typical men and women, with women presenting 3x the amount of oxytocin that men had. Thank you for the input tho. Hopefully someone else comes along who's nearly as intelligent as yourself and they give me back my license to think about this topic.

"Remarriage probabilities decrease faster for widows than widowers. Less than one-fourth of men widowed after age 65 ever remarry. Less than 5% of women widowed after age 55 ever remarry"
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/23 03:28 AM

Buuuut..... divorced men and widowers are more likely to remarry. Dead wife monkey branching, not cool bro
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/23 03:26 AM
6

Yeah not too sure what a recreational divorce is but could higher suicide rates among men post divorce be due to them realizing what they lost? Perhaps women who divorce aren't as hurt because they felt they gave more but got less in return
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/23 03:21 AM

The likelihood of remarriage is about five times higher for widowers than widows (Connidis, 2010)
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/23 03:20 AM

Yeah I was definitely cherry picking a bit with the ASPD and autism, but even looking at the "normal" men, the difference in blood oxytocin levels compared to women is pretty huge

Tbf tho, it being responsible for birth (and the emotional processes shortly after) is usually cited as evidence of its (maternal) pair bonding effect
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/23 03:16 AM

Bingo, should've paid more attention to this. Did more research after and other studies found almost opposite results, and meta analysis found men and women to be far more similar than different when you give them the stimuli they prefer.

The arousal from sex in general bit seems like a good analysis. I'm curious though, are you referencing studies with the default sexuality thing, or is it more of a personal theory of yours?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/22 12:17 AM

tbf tho, most studies I've seen point to men having a higher sex drive and more openness to various fetishes.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/22 12:15 AM

But (assuming you're straight) could you see yourself adapting to your man by becoming bisexual? That seems like a huge jump from just going along with some kinks.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/22 10:21 PM
3

but they would still be able to be left handed. Straight men in the study weren't able to be aroused by both sexes, straight women were.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/22 10:14 PM
3

Ah, thinking about it genetically makes more sense. Good point.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/22 09:31 PM
8

yeah but according to both studies, men were either very straight or very gay, whereas women were either bisexual or gay. And we can't really say the men were just suppressing their sexuality when they were actively measuring their brain activity to see that they were either straight or gay
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/22 09:26 PM
3

right, but I guess my question is why are women more plastic and responsive?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/22 09:24 PM
10

I think that would explain fluidity regarding their preference of men, but why do you think women would be so much more bisexual?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/22 09:18 PM

Do these people tend to have a higher n count/ be more promiscuous? Maybe that would explain what seems to be a disconnect between love and sex (assuming you aren’t referencing any emotional affairs, at which point the best conclusion is people just suck). OR, with regards to your genealogy work, could there be a genetic component involved? I know there has been researching showing a pretty promising link. Have you found any instances of a cheater’s family elder also being a cheater?

As in the person with less experience wants to catch up?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/22 07:40 PM

First off, thank you for your contribution to this post. Your insight has been extremely helpful. My question is regarding conflict avoidance and empathy: how would you rate most cheaters for these traits? High, low, or somewhere in between? And not just in the context of infidelity specifically. Are they empathetic towards other peoples suffering in a variety of circumstances, do they avoid or instigate arguments with different people, etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/22 07:34 PM
3

This might be an odd question, but to the best of your knowledge, how did the cheaters you know view infidelity prior to doing it themselves? Were they more relaxed/less disgusted by it than most?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/22 06:52 PM
2

Interesting point. Mind sharing some of those boundaries?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/22 05:40 PM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
