…the monster under the bed that most avoid or rationalize a protective wall from: - (largely rhetorical) what happens when: she lives her best years without him, and as that twilight comes he himself is just hitting his own best years, with (whether implicitly or explicitly) one asserting true self-maturity or “finding God” and the other asserting loss of Faith? - “best,” here meaning “most opportunities/options” … never been my definition, nor what most others would want to be its denotation. -…

The age is immaterial. Simply: - be attractive. And, definitely, don’t be unattractive. - “sacrifices” only happen when a body in motion can’t help but do what is necessary to overcome any obstacle toward the stronger force of pull… - it’s called: Gravity. - and, despite fairly tales to the contrary… it is the infintesimally small minority in the universe that can consciously, wisely think themselves into being gravitationally pulled (read: “attracted”). …if 99%+ of an occurence can warrant a de…

👆🏼… OP is here trying to understand, with a good heart …but either can’t see or doesn’t want to see that his (justified and fair) desire requires: - not caring to understand (which necessarily requires a conscious acknowledgment that the absurd/contradictory/irrational cannot, ever, be understood), and… - a heart whose good he himself judges according to its alignment with the Higher, and not by society/others (which necessarily requires a conscious acknowledgment that he can live virtuously, ev…

So, build-a-bear, but for men. - when a man accepts that she wants cake and to eat it too, in a life of double-edged swords and forks in the road, he then must make his defining choice… - with much knowledge comes great sorrow… you can either soberly understand or joyfully love. They are a spectrum. Perhaps, you can straddle the fence. But, never presume you can live both poles at the same time.

Underappreciated comment and analogy… - yet the fish will say no tension, no games, etc… - yet, I bet that fish wants to be shown off as a prize in the pictures we take with a great bass… so long as it knows it is safe and will be gently be put back in the lake after being caugh… or, if it isn’t, that it will be hung on the mantle as the greatest prize…

Good luck with that mentality… that’s not compromise. That is hanging by a thread… to your Self (the very thing that must BE and LEAD). Sure, compromise a good bit. But, you best be the one that is maintaining boundaries, standards, and values, and… thus… compromising less.

This. The white knights (who may not know they even are) always learn, eventually.

This. But, it’s always a fascinating thought problem as to whether reality is made by: the objective, the societal and collectice perception, or the individual perception. - of course, it’s a mixture. - but, when it takes two to tango and the societal, with its largely resulatant individual, perceptions grossly detaches (mostly, women) from objective reality, it makes a new one… one that becomes the new game, the new rules of the road, the new reality… … … … phones, the internet, and social medi…

Woman: thy name is “have cake and eat it too.” It’s the hardest thing to wrestle with… but it’s a natural law right there with: a2 + b2 = c2, the sun rising in the east, and a tree cyclically dying and being reborn…. - and… complete and final peace can never be made with it, because it is inherently contradictory, resulting in chaos… a never-ending endeavor of the: balancing act, the navigating between Scylla and Charybdis, and the dance with duality.

Sure… depending on the syntatical object of the infinitive verb you used. The implicit idea of the post is ”to love” yourself/life. If you mean the mushy-gushy “vulnerability,” and “emotionally available,” then you have a loooooooong road to tread…..

I read on this topic plenty, never afraid to look into the abyss (for better or worse). And, DAMN! Your last sentence is the first time I’ve seen that characterization — one that strikes immediately as simultaneously obvious and profound, as if it were hiding in plain sight. “Protection.”

☝🏼The sooner one makes peace with not having peace, the better. Most learn the hard way, and it’s hard not to, because peace is comforting. But comfort quickly becomes familiarity, which breeds… well, you know. Worse yet, comfort becomes complacency, stagnancy, and boredom… which leads to… well, you know. Remember, never has a spark or fire been made without resistance and friction (and those aren’t peaceful). What’s peaceful? A static sheet of Ice.

Lol. Define: “effective.” And then look at the variables at play in your definition. Inevitably, it will include the duration and strength of a bond between man and woman… Takes two to tango. And within each of those are two desires that only tango in fantasyland or the rarest of instances. Double-edged swords that often play a zero-sum game: excitement v. peaceful comfort, danger v. security, and mystery v. familiarity. After reflecting on such, perhaps you’ll revaluate what “effective” should …

This will be hard to hear, but: - wholly abandon/starve the overall approach you have now. You’re coming from a place of want/need. We all have it, and all want to be liked for who we are. The dark tragedy: biology and social dynamics, particularly now with social media, don’t care, and actually act against it. You will always come across as “desparate,” whether you are or not. - adopt a mentality of overcoming, conquering yourself, and ascending. Not in some ascetic monk way. But, in a warrior …

This could be the dumbest, self-aware unawareness, I’ve ever read online. Don’t simp, but proceeds to describe it. Don’t compromise yourself and be sure to live an extraordinary life, but proceeds to describe the opposite. “A rose by any other name…” Self-delusion, thy name is…

Then read it again. And again. “Loyal, kind… ambitious.” I can’t help you if you don’t recognize that ambition (read: wealth) and loyalty are ends of a spectrum. Most of them time, the strengthening of one requires the diminishment of the other. So, identify your balance. Take the womanspeak out and just say “wealth.” And then, answer the question every person must answer for themselves, if they are to have peace: “What is enough?”

I fear my comment went over your head. That said, the ambitious man is not going to be the “simplest version of a man.” Mostly, you can have the ambitious man or the simple, family man. The latter is the “easy man” you say you don’t want, while simultaneously the simple, family man that you say you do want. The rare blend of the ambitious man who wants the simple, family life too? You’re right. He won’t be the “easy man” to get. What tradeoffs will you make? Less wealth and comfort (“ambition”),…

Your “reminder” in the last paragraph of the post is not taken seriously, due to recognition of cognitive dissonance. You say you want: a man without game, but who is not easy; a man who isn’t chasing women but is putting himself into his purpose, yet wants to settle down. You can have a strong, purpose filled man, or the yearning for family life man. Not both. Sure there are uncommon blends to an extent. But, like a fork in the road, one usually starts to close the door on the other. Most of th…
