Drugs have different effects on different people. I find the same, if I'm a little high I'm more sociable and just happy to talk to whoever. Once I get the ball rolling with random conversations it cheers me up and helps put me in the right state of mind.

I like the core ideas in the statements more than the exact phrasing. You could easily turn - "I get the feeling that your job doesn’t completely fulfill you creatively. Do you have a passion outside of work?" Into - Her: Some blah about work Him: Do you find it challenging? I get the feeling you're a more creative type, being held back. Then steer the conversation towards her creative passions and connect with that.

Well written, nice analysis. I think you're being a bit hard on yourself. That's a dream scenario for a lot of guys. Just because it got a bit complicated at the end doesn't mean you didn't do well. And the best bit is you've written it down, realised any mistakes, and will learn from them. Pretty solid win if you ask me.
