I guess it depends where you live. In Denmark for example it is illegal to charge different entry prices to clubs based on gender.

In many countries, simply living together for a certain amount of time means you are "married" in the eyes of the law in case of break-up/divorce. Only advantage with an actual marriage certificate is tax - a married couple can share their tax margins.

It probably couldn't be considered theft(from you) because if you threw it into the trash can than it shows you discarded it and surrendered ownership That is not the case where I live. Taking something from someone else's trash, without their consent, is theft.

Maybe if there was a quota they would! But you seem to miss the point, because it is the same for management and director positions. If the best qualified candidates for the positions were women then they would be hired. Instead, they are hired because of quota requirements, based on irrelevant criteria - ie their gender. It's sickening.

Seems to me the opposing lawyer fucked up if they couldn't convince the judge that this "syndrome" is not real. Surely if it's discredited then there is literature to prove that?
/r/MensRights20/11/23 06:24 AM

can't force people into certain jobs to meet a quota. But that is exactly what quotas do. They force companies to select less qualified candidates to fill up the legally required quota. If you can have quotas on the directors' floor, then you can have them in the sewer.

The article does not describe it in a gender neutral way the directive on combating violence against women and domestic violence, which aims to ban forced marriages, female genital mutilation, sexual harassment and forced sterilization

Overall, the news is good.... ...although we’ve made good progress in reducing hiring bias against women, we haven’t done the same for men.

Not that many women are 6'3, even in Scandinavia. Average height is 5'6. Are there women of 6'3? Sure. But to say that less than that is "short" is weird

The back-story goes like this: at these meetings, the CEO answers anonymous questions he has received via an internal communication platform. One of the questions this time was about the number of women in the top leadership, and in general in other positions at the company, and if the company was doing anything to "rectify" the situation. It is an IT company, which tends to be quite male dominated in programmer roles. The top leadership is about 33% women. The CEO gladly proclaimed the policy o…

Just commenting on the Netflix series The Diplomat: I actually enjoyed the series, but it didn't take long to realise that nearly every white man was portrayed as a bumbling inept fool, or at best narcissistic, while the competent, intelligent heroes were the women and black men.

I work there already, so I have not really suffered any personal loss. I was aghast when he said it though - so blatantly and with an obvious "righteousness". Clearly illegal in practice. I'm sure (I hope) many of my colleagues thought the same as me, but were too scared to say anything. Only one person did pipe up, very bravely, saying directly they thought it sounded like a stupid policy. And that was from a woman.
/r/MensRights23/05/23 06:50 AM

I've never done it, but our CEO stated explicitly to a company-wide meeting that female candidates to any position at the company will be prioritised over male candidates. So it would be an advantage to be a woman.

Not so long ago, the words "sex" and "gender" were synonyms. Now "gender" has been co-opted to mean something else. Of course, even before "gender' was used to mean "sex", it had nothing to do with the human condition, but was used to refer to types or classes of things. Like for example the "gender" of nouns in some languages.
/r/MensRights15/04/23 06:48 AM

The word "cisgender" is relatively new though. And "gender" has not always had the specific meaning of a person's sexual characteristics

I never picked up on nuance #2. I just thought "not all" meant, without any implication as to a percentage, that less than all were in the category being discussed. With reference to "all men are rapists" I interpreted the "not all" response to be an exasperated and shorthand way to negate the absolute "all".
/r/MensRights06/03/23 11:15 AM

I never understood it that way I must admit. "Not all" to me simply means some quantity less than 100%, without any implication of there being few or many.

If the sexual assault took place in Italy, were the Italian police involved?
/r/MensRights29/09/22 07:05 PM

Well, we were kids. The rhetoric was like: some men weren't willing to help defend their country, families, and way of life, so women needed to help make sure that all available man-power was convinced to live up to their obligations. I can't remember exactly, but it certainly wasn't portrayed as a sexist movement shaming men and forcing men, not women, to play cannon-fodder.

But what you "want" and what the law says can be different. Where I live it would be abnormal for ordinary earnings to be separate property in a marriage. I don't even know if you can contract yourself out of it. One thing to consider is that income tax (where I live) is affected by marital status and the combined earnings of the couple. So in this case the woman may have paid less income tax because she was married. In any case, if you want to keep your earnings 100% for yourself, then don't li…

she doesn't want to screw me over. But that's exactly what she is doing. I don't know the rules where you live, but where I am you split everything 50/50 as a general rule. How is divorce handled where you live - where I am it is a central governmental authority, and both parties need to approve the divorce and if you can't agree to the terms, then the government will do it for you. Where I live, "contributions" during the marriage are generally part of the common marriage property, not separate…

/r/PussyPassDenied28/09/22 07:08 AM

Why? I'm pretty sure it's not. Consent, ie asking, before sex is a requirement by law - so that part of the interaction can't be illegal. Prostitution and paying for sex are not illegal. So what would be illegal about this situation?

The problem is when a baby has an important part of their body cut off without consent, nor good reason. I have nothing against an 18 year old man voluntarily undergoing circumcision, but I fail to see how cutting the foreskin off a child can be necessary or legal (aside from medical necessity due to illness or deformity). Apparently foreskin is ok, but fingers or ears are not - where's the logic in that?

/r/MensRights09/09/22 10:01 PM

What country do you live in? I live in Denmark and I think it's tolerable. I've not personally experienced sexism directed against me. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the default position in a divorce is 50/50 child guardianship. I will though grant you that our CEO proudly announced that hiring at all levels will favour women. I was then happy to hear the lone voice of public dissent - calling it a "stupid" policy - to be a woman.
/r/MensRights09/09/22 02:38 PM

Your own link says this:. everyone’s different, so you may not feel all that tingly goodness in the same area as another person. My nipples are not an erogenous zone.

There are lots of stupid stereotypes and shallow characterisations in movies and animations. You'll also find the fashion-afflicted teenage girl, the dumb sports jock, the nerdish weak timid little boy, and the powerful go-getter girl. I do find the dumb but loveable bumbling father annoying, but there are just as many annoying mother types.

I have also had my doctor's finger up me ass. Grin and bear it - and please relax as my doctor said. Sometimes these things are necessary to maintain good health. There is no shame or emasculation.

Quite interesting, the Maidan Revolution. It's at least plausible that the US helped back a revolution in 2014 in Ukraine (let's be honest, they've done similar before) - but I'm still not sure how this warranted the horrendous invasion by Russia, especially as there have since been democratic elections in Ukraine. Just look at the civilian death toll due to Russia. That's entirely on Russia.
/r/MensRights13/04/22 07:54 PM

Can you document the US and NATO aggression which is the cause for Russia to invade Ukraine?

I have no idea whether or not some ancient person wrote words in a book saying that people should mutilate small boys' penises. Maybe they wrote that, maybe they didn't. But *who cares*? That's the worst fucken weak excuse I ever heard. We are self thinking human beings - we do not "absolutely" have to follow words from an ancient text. There is no necessity at all. How is that any better than some random person saying yeah I got a book which says I got to poke out my neighbor's eyes. Not a reas…

Isn't it because it is necessary to make that comparison in order to force people to see the double-standard and realise and admit that this is exploitation even when it is a male? People easily see problematic situations when the subject is female, but not when it is male

It sounds like you should talk to a male psychologist, because you are starting from a negative place regarding female psychologist. I think it must be very personal what you are most comfortable with. I went to a female psychologist for a year or so. She was extremely helpful and understanding, and I never once felt any negativity towards me.

I was recently informed at a company-wide meeting that my workplace inacts "positive discrimination" during hiring at all levels. I was shocked to be honest. One brave soul spoke out and said they thought that was an insane practice. The best was that this was one of my female colleagues! I'm too scared to say anything publicly. White heterosexual male, and I wonder if downsizing policies are similar

I will not completely brush your worries aside, but my own personal experience has been the opposite. I have found female doctors (and psychologists) to be understanding, knowledgeable and helpful. Male doctors as well - but the only single doctor who I did not connect with was male.
/r/MensRights26/01/22 08:28 PM
4

Yep. I think I was completely lucky - country I live in, where 50/50 for kids is pretty much understood, the woman I was divorcing was reasonable, and I had built up very good relations with her family
/r/MensRights26/01/22 06:08 PM
14

That is a sad story. My divorce was also a slow incremental process, but that gave me time to plan. Not sure I understand why he had to move out to a mate's attic... we sold our joint-owned house and went separate ways, to new houses. Maybe I'm just lucky.

At a guess none of us actually care - as long as it is someone who can drag us to safety
/r/MensRights12/12/21 09:32 AM

Exactly, equality means we are the same. If a job has certain minimum standards, then those standards should apply to everyone regardless of race or gender.
/r/MensRights12/12/21 07:39 AM

The "illegal" part should be doing it to children. If you want to cut off bits of your own body when you're 18 years old then go for it.
/r/MensRights11/12/21 09:16 AM

Satire?
/r/MensRights10/12/21 06:18 AM

Yes exactly. That's a right men have, which women do not. I'm sure women would like equality, so they too can be forced into the military.
/r/MensRights09/12/21 01:31 PM

Where I live, women don't have the right to be forced to join the army, but men have that right.

I've hit 2 women in my life, both times only a single whack, and after they hit me. I didn't go "all in". First one was in front of her boyfriend. The girl looked at him for support, but he just said "well you did hit him". Second one, the girl left the room, and came back later and apologized for hitting me. So I have had different experiences than you. To me it can be acceptable to hit a woman.

Why can't a woman wear the same outfit again?
/r/PussyPassDenied20/11/21 11:56 AM

My colleagues didn't believe me when I told them it was international men's day, and even accused me of having written a fake article on Wikipedia about it! Also, the corporate owner of the place I work sends out emails and articles every international women's day, about the cool and empowered women working for us - but there is total silence every men's day.
/r/MensRights20/11/21 11:14 AM

Couldn't they have chosen a day which didn't coincide with international men's day?
/r/MensRights20/11/21 09:26 AM

Same, but my experience is it's usually accompanied with the expectation of "tipping".
/r/MensRights14/11/21 09:28 AM

There are various laws regulating harvesting sperm from dead men in various countries. I am not sure if there are laws regarding harvesting eggs from dead women.

/r/MensRights29/10/21 06:34 AM

Why do it that way? As a male, I took my daughters into the male changing rooms until they were old enough to cope for themselves in the female rooms.

/r/MensRights14/10/21 10:32 AM

Interesting. I have heard of places where even though abortion is not generally allowed, it is allowed in cases of rape. So a victim (woman) who is raped is permitted to have an abortion. I sincerely doubt however, that in this case where the rape victim is male, that he can insist on the female getting an abortion. In fact, I have heard of similar cases that leads me to believe the victim here may be forced to pay child support to the rapist.

Ridiculous to ban facial hair at all, but I hope at least the ban is enforced on all genders - got to get those women scraping off their upper-lip hair.
/r/MensRights18/09/21 11:52 AM

Correct. Different types of trials have different requirements for what is allowable to be used as evidence, but in general statements are evidence. I mean, when a person takes the stand at a trial, they are making statements which are used as evidence in deciding the outcome of the trial. I have no idea why someone would say that statements are not a form of evidence.
/r/MensRights17/09/21 12:34 PM

Yes. There are many types of "evidence". The court will appraise and evaluate the truth/relevance of the presented "evidence" in relation to the hearing.

I understand where you're coming from, the frustration. But I don't think men en masse will do that. There is too much conscientiousness, too much willingness to sacrifice and work for society and family, too much responsibility.
/r/MensRights14/09/21 06:40 AM

Something similar happened when I was at a tourist attraction in Rome. A huge line for the women's toilet, and none for the men's. The men's was quite busy, but no actual line formed. While I was at the urinal, a couple of young women came in to use one of the stalls. Tbh I thought that was quite ok under the circumstances. They made no fuss, just went in, used the toilet, and left again.

Did you continue dating after the incident? How old was the girl at the time of the incident? Are you sure you are both remembering the same specific incident (and how does she know you touched her without consent if she was asleep)? What is the age of consent where you live?

Flea markets quite often have cheap toys. Also the "DR" website has a kid's section for games (ramasjang I think it's called). Google play has lots of free games. There is also free legal help available. Www.retshjaelpen.dk is one.

Why no compensation, and why no prosecution of the false accusations? Maybe this guy and a couple of friends should accuse these women of rape and get them locked up. Natural justice.

It would be good with some rape and conviction statistics involving intoxicated persons. I remember the "Jake and Josie" poster from some years ago. This poster certainly fell into line with the OP's message - that people seem to agree that a drunk woman cannot consent while a drunk man can.

/r/MensRights15/07/21 01:30 PM

Yeah, I don't understand that it's not prosecuted as assault and battery at the least. Is there really a paragraph in the law that says "you may cut the foreskin off people without their consent"?

The stuff she says strikes a chord with me. I've heard others say that she doesn't really mean what she says, but I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. As to the tattoos, each to their own. I don't know her, so I wouldn't presume to ascribe any reason as to "why" she has them. She seems articulate and intelligent, and personally I like tattoos.

If part of your job description is setting up servers and other hardware stuff, then if you decide not to do that you are not performing your contractual duties. Fair enough if your employer says ok, but as a colleague I'd be annoyed if I got saddled with your shit duties because you couldn't.

In this case, as described in an earlier comment, some of the staff were calling their male colleagues to perform part of their duties of which they were incapable. So they were picking and choosing which of thier tasks they wanted to do.

I loved having small kids who played out back like that. Wonderful seeing their happy play. Unfortunately the state of the world today means that a large number of sick people would see that sort of activity as pornographic (and these sick people don't even realise that it is them who are sick). Any normal person can enjoy seeing a naked child play, without it being pornographic in any way whatsoever, but the world is not that way any more. Be careful.

I am trying not to assume too much, nor attribute malice to the student's statements. Seems like the student was involved in a discussion about trans-women competing against bio-women in physical sport. The ruling appears to state that the jobs are "comparable", not the "same". Which in itself raises the question of when may a business negotiate its own pay rates with its employees, and when does the state simply regulate it. As ASDA says, all people in the same jobs receive the same wage regardless of gender - but there is a difference between jobs, according to how ASDA evaluates the skillsets required. Well now the state has done that for them.

The reasoning is that the stay-at-home parent (or the one who stayed most at home) lost some years of seniority and "ladder climbing", and therefore salary advancement, while they helped raise the common children. I can just imagine it. It's one of those situations where you truly believe the other person is totally joking, so you just laugh spontaneously.... and then it's like "oh, you're serious".

Obviously the "story" (sorry "narrative") in this advertisement is problematic: that you can take a picture of a person in these sorts of circumstances and publish it on social media without their permission. So I don't think you should do the same to your neighbour. OTOH this is clearly an advertisement in which the male sports' personality (forgot his name sorry) is complicit and has given permission. So not really a problem, and I wouldn't have a problem if it was a correspondingly fit female…

I never really understood the university courts for this, and always wondered why it wasn't left up to the actual judicial system. Always seemed a little like a parallel legal system which is something about which I have reservations.

It would be interesting to see how far down the men's rankings you'd need to go to find the spot where the top women were competitive. Should really open up all sports to all comers, regardless of gender.

I went to a female therapist for about 12 sessions. She was excellent - really helped me to work through, talk about, and understand issues I was going through. In no way was she judgemental or biased against me or men in general, and she gave me some good "tools" to work with. Actually I appreciated the "female" input she could provide. I was lucky though, because the 2 other guys I know who have been to therapy did not have good experiences.

It will depend a lot on where the father is moving to. If it is within EU I think there is a common set of general rules. There is a forum at http://forum.aegteskabudengraenser.dk which may be able to help give you pointers to where you can find answers.

Obviously there should be no discrimination based on gender with respect to the amount paid in benefits. Because as you say, then we'd also have to take into account other things like men's general requirement for a higher amount of calories to maintain their health. Actually, I wonder if men will be receiving a free bag of fruit and vegetables each week.

So I assume he is actually a wife beater, despite his protestations? EDIT: found the actual article, where it states: Judge Mr Justice Nicol said the Sun had proved what was in the article to be "substantially true". He found 12 of the 14 alleged incidents of domestic violence had occurred. Mr Depp's lawyer called the ruling "perverse" and said the Hollywood actor intends to appeal. So actually a little confusing to me - the judge (in a "libel" case) says that Depp is guilty of domestic violence…

I guess I have been lucky - mostly working places where they hire people based on merit not gender. Some years ago I worked with a young lady of 22 or so. She was really good - inexperienced, but technically savvy, aware of her inexperience, and willing to learn. Currently I have 2 female colleagues, mid to late 30s. Really competent and excellent to work with.
/r/MensRights13/10/20 02:25 PM

But maybe that's why the female applicants get more interviews - the employer knows they only cost $0.80 for every $1.00 which a male employee will cost?

Not exactly my experience. I've worked with like 5 female developers over the years, vs dozens of male. The 2 female developers I work with currently are excellent.

/r/MensRights14/09/20 06:57 PM

What I mean is, I find it odd that the government would need to pass a law "banning" circumcision. Isn't it banned already? It's a disfigurement of a healthy child, who is unable to consent. Surely you'd actually need to pass a law to specifically "allow" it? Just like I am pretty sure it's illegal to cut off the tip of a baby's finger - but I doubt there needs to be a specific law banning that. It's already banned surely, as it's a horrible act of disfigurement. So why isn't circumcision just g…
/r/MensRights14/09/20 06:31 PM

I don't get that religious or cultural circumcision is legal in the first place, let alone that it needs to be banned. The default position must surely be that it is illegal. Should we ban cutting the tip off male babies' little fingers?

Yeah if he'd said he didn't want to weigh less than her, she'd have been fine with that.

I think she might want you to restrain her and cut off some of her skin.
/r/MensRights16/06/20 08:04 PM

I think threatening to kill is illegal though.
/r/MensRights15/06/20 07:52 AM

I'm wondering... the author writes that females are not biologically programmed to rape. But is she implying that men are biologically programmed to rape?
/r/MensRights14/06/20 09:22 AM
9

Yeah but I didn't get the vibe she was looking for an easy path and so chose to be a man.
/r/MensRights10/06/20 02:55 PM
14

I didn't get that at all from the article.

Satire today. Truth tomorrow.
/r/MensRights09/06/20 02:23 PM

To be fair, this "consent" is regarding two totally different areas of human relations. Not that I necessarily agree with the notion that silence regarding BLM or police brutality means that you "consent" or support police brutality.
/r/MensRights09/06/20 09:44 AM

I do wonder though, if the scenario would've played out differently if he was a white man.
/r/MensRights08/06/20 10:10 AM

But why would some random man have to pay child support? Don't you use DNA tests in the US?

Amongst the myriad of genders there are today, there must be one for people who identify both as a man and as a woman. So $6200 profit!

Well shit, for $5000 I can identify as a woman.

True. And I also have problems with chess. It is correct that the male king is the piece to "capture", but he is like an old cripple, while the female queen gallivants around the board from one end to the other. And don't get me started on tiddly-winks.
/r/MensRights09/05/20 08:27 AM

I don't know about where you live, but where I live it's a requirement that an employee has a contract in which salary is stated. The employer cannot change the terms of the contract without entering into negotiations. He should demand his contractual salary, or find the appropriate employment council/court to file a complaint. Mention the sexual harassment.

Haven't seen their page. Is there some sort of badge you can get to prove you're a feminist, and only then can you post? The point is, the comment is a feminist view. Might be irrelevant to the actual question posed, but the comment itself is feminist.

How is it not "feminist" to speak for gender equality?

Did he ask the obvious follow up question?
/r/MensRights03/04/20 03:40 PM

Was it a female who wrote that? (Not that I actually think an individual woman should apologise on behalf of all women)
/r/MensRights28/03/20 02:48 PM
6

It's the same continuum. The issue is if a lie to obtain consent to sex can invalidate the consent and therefore mean rape.
/r/MensRights15/03/20 11:49 AM
2

Damn. So if I lie about being a pilot, or lie my salary to be larger than it is, or say I'm a vegan, and any of these things convince the lady to agree to sex... then is that rape? What about makeup, that's a form of lie to make the person more attractive.
/r/MensRights15/03/20 11:46 AM
6

Yeah, I remember some months ago when I happened to watch an international women's match on TV. I know virtually nothing about soccer, but the match just happened to be on. I was impressed with the skill and speed of the game. Immediately afterwards, the next match was an under-21's match between 2 local men's teams. Within a few seconds, I realised that the women's match had been like watching kindergarten kids waddle slowly around a paddock. It was like 2 totally different games.
/r/MensRights13/03/20 06:39 PM

Why don't they just play a best of 3 series to see which team is best?

Only happens very occasionally to me, and equally from both sexes. I put it down to an accident. The only place it happens quite often is getting off the metro - people are always crowding to get on, and won't give space for the people trying to get off. I plow through in those situations.

I watched a top game on TV once. I don't really follow soccer. I thought they played really well, and skillfully. Then I watched a men's under 21 game. Speed, stamina, skill level, ferocity, force. Huge difference.

The Onion?
/r/MensRights08/11/19 06:28 AM

Yeah I didn't actually realise there had to be a complaint before police investigated. But I guess it makes sense... let's hope there's some sort of broadcaster watchdog in Australia which lays a complaint.
/r/MensRights07/11/19 06:03 PM

Yeah, but I think the joke is that "source" sounds kinda like "sauce". Wikipedia has an article about HP sauce. More info than you ever needed to know.

The police said no complaints had been made. Have they no initiative?

I'd just like to say that HP is actually a "sauce".

The German "Frauenticket" was apparently only for 1 day, back in March. I wonder how it went down though, because I can't see it being legal under German or EU law.

So 738 different changing rooms?

Ok. I'm not sure I think it's ok to make those sorts of unfounded accusations. At least ask her why she's not reporting what she knows to the authorities. And even if she didn't directly call for violence, it's entirely within the realms of possibility that the sour atmosphere she is creating will cause violence to erupt. Because we all know who the criminal is.
/r/PussyPass27/10/19 05:32 PM

The issue is whether it's ok to write: There's a thief at the school and we all know who it is. There's a murderer at the school and we all know who it is. There's a pedophile teacher at this school and we all know who it is. Is there a line to random unfounded speculation which could incite violence?
/r/PussyPass27/10/19 05:14 PM
1

Is there a line? No men - ok apparently. No whites? No blacks? No homosexuals? No trans?
/r/MensRights27/10/19 01:35 PM

Lol manspreading. I'm a guy, and I gotta admit I hate those dudes who really spread out like that. One sat next to me the other day, on the metro, and really pressed his thigh into mine. I pressed right back. His fucking legs were like at a 90 degree angle. Asshole. After a few stops he relaxed though - I guess he realised I wasn't giving in. Otoh, women who cross their legs and dangle their foot out in everyone's fucking way. Jeez they piss me off too. Fuck I'm an angry old man!
/r/MensRights27/10/19 01:33 PM

But is there a rapist at the school?
/r/PussyPass27/10/19 01:23 PM

It's a funny sub though. Sometimes I wonder if it's all just a troll. If it is for real, then I guess it's also permissible to have a sub where only men are allowed to post. Maybe even "only white cis men"?

That sub is gold. "No men allowed". Is that even permissible?

See a doctor. See a therapist. It could be many things. High blood pressure over a longer period can cause impotence. It's normal to want sex, and even "ugly" people can get it. Of course if you really don't want sex that's ok too.

That is so discriminatory against women. I'm aghast.
/r/MensRights23/10/19 04:05 PM

Just let me understand the context... the guy is against circumcision, and is protesting the car which is for circumcision...?
/r/MensRights22/10/19 06:14 PM

I'm pretty sure you can select your own gender, so it doesn't really matter.
/r/MensRights14/10/19 05:07 PM

Where I live there is no such rule. It's perfectly legal to reveal your salary to whoever you want. People don't usually though, and employers like that. If I were you, I'd search the web for average salary for the position you're applying for, and add 20% when they ask at the interview. Depends on your experience what the "average" would be of course. You need to open and flexible though, and ensure you have relevant credentials and insights to offer to the position. Also, there are a number of…

Does she actually answer that question?
/r/MensRights24/09/19 09:31 AM

I'm guessing a country where they write articles in German. Narrowing down further, I'm guessing that as one of the places that is mentioned is Munich, that it's not Austria. So the remaining possibilities would be... hmm... no I'm stumped too.
/r/PussyPass04/08/19 05:33 PM

How is it stupid? There is not much information. Depending on the laws of the country, a husband and wife own stuff in common.
