I believe this is a reaction and coping mechanism one might develop living not only as a marginalized member of society, but as an effeminate one as well. I think it becomes a suit of armor for some in those communities. I’m surprised such a high percentage of people came out as feminist on this survey. In the past it’s seemed like much fewer when there have been surveys. I’m guessing the survey used a lot of leading questions, and that the guidelines for determining “feminist” were based on the dictionary definition of the word? This is awesome. My only caveat would be referring to the last type as a “traitor”. Although it’s a good gender-neutral term and beats more juvenile insults such as “soy boy”, it implies men and women exist as tribes or opposing sides. I’d suggest trying to write science fiction, because it’s a great genre for including controversial topics in a way that is palatable for a large audience. I would suggest not trying to write “male” or “female” characters but rather start with developing their personality and traits, THEN deciding on sex. Ah yes, the “women are the primary victims of war” logic. I’ve even seen feminists bring up how 9 out of 10 female captives are raped in war torn parts of Africa, though they never mention male captives are typically raped in similar numbers, if not more (to say nothing of the shunning from their own communities, lack of attention from international human rights groups, and lack of services available to those men)

I’ve gotten flak for saying black men by far have it the worst. I seem to remember reading that statistics like this are inflated because they usually include prison rape numbers. Also not all governments and jurisdictions define rape the same. Some define it strictly as forced penetration, which would automatically exclude many cases of men having sex against their wills.
