Also, did you see the part where she was too drunk to drive home, so she took the bus?! That loser dude couldn't even call her an Uber.

Ughhhhhh, did y'all read the update? They boned and she thinks he's a great guy because he gave her oral and didn't secretly take off the condom. What a prince.

Yeah, I've read about celebrities working out for six hours a day or something ridiculous. You too can have the body of a god(dess) as long as you spend every spare moment obsessing over your sick gains

Everyone can't experience everything and have endless compassion for every terrible thing going on in the world. You'd go crazy if you tried. Everyone's empathy is selective. If you've never had a close family member die or have a medical crisis, obviously you don't know what your friend whose dad is dying of cancer is going through. It would be presumptuous to claim you do. You can still be there for your friend and listen when they need to talk and help however you can. I know someone who love…

Her ex seems like an asshole. I don't know anything about Blake, but maybe he's a genuinely loving and caring guy and that's where the attraction is?

Your boyfriend is a dick and "I don't know what love is" is bullshit. Leave him yesterday for your own peace of mind and sanity.

Nothing beyond the bare minimum needed to make plans. I tell people I don't really text. I don't know if it's cause or effect, but spending all damn day texting (whether it's with romantic partners or friends) kills the momentum and you don't actually end up spending much time together, if at all. Maintain some mystery and be reserved.

A man like this is showing you that he doesn't value your time. A man who wants to be with you will show up consistently, period, no excuses.

I think it's "you teach people how to treat you," as in people learn what bad behavior you're willing to put up with, and then that becomes their new standard. If a guy has dirty sheets and a dirty apartment and no flowers, candy, or dinner for you on Valentine's Day and you act overjoyed and have sex with him, that shows him that he never has to put in any more effort in the future, so you'll never get anything more. If you say "that's not gonna work for me, bye," either he steps up in the futu…

The problem with meeting men through mutual friends is that it ruins your reputation. Dave isn't going to want to date you if he knows you've already dated his buddies Joe, Bob, Larry, and Other Joe (even if you only dated them briefly and parted amicably). Being perceived as dating your way through a friend group isn't a good look, and it lowers your value in a man's eyes if you've already dated other guys he knows.

What an asshole. Thank god she had the sense to leave him, and hopefully she won't take him back. He really didn't value her and all her hard work at all, and worse yet, he made a mockery of her to his colleagues and family. Boy, bye.

If he doesn't talk to you about these things now, he's not going to magically become more open after you get married. He'll probably always be like this. If you can't live with this, you should part ways with him.

Men fetishize everything = truth. I've had a Jewish guy call me a sexy shiksa and a black guy call me a PAWG (phat ass white girl). Any trait that men can use to get their rocks off, they will.

Have y'all heard about the scientist who was mentally ill and refused to eat anything except what his wife prepared for him, and when she was unable to cook for him, he literally starved to death? For real, that's not a joke. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurt_G%C3%B6del#Later_life_and_death Some people really are that dysfunctional.

But keep in mind, it's not just gaming. It could be obsessing over sports or hunting or fishing or some other activity. I remember reading a post on r/guitars where a guy said he spends hours practicing the guitar every single day, in spite of working full-time and having a wife and young children, because music is suuuuuuch a priority to him. Yeah, music is great but his wife must be a saint to put up with that and she's probably getting sick of him spending hours every day on his hobby when he…

Do you realistically think he has spent even 1/100 of the time angsting over you that you've spent feeling bad about him? He's clearly a loser who doesn't care about you. Don't waste your time and your mental health on someone like this. Hugs to you, sis.

I mean, at least he admits he's the worst and emotionally unavailable. But you just know some poor woman is going to date him and then complain he's an asshole to her, and he's gonna say "but I toooooold you what I was like" as if that's a free pass to act as badly as you want to without any consequences.

Why not grits? Grits are often eaten savory with stuff like shrimp, sausage, butter, cheese, onions, and peppers. Or you could use something like quinoa or riced cauliflower as a base. Oatmeal is not a savory food.

I feel like this quote is probably well-intentioned, but still misguided. We as a society spend so much time convincing women that we're obligated to be kind and gentle, compassionate and self-sacrificing - often at the expense of our own interests and feelings. What we should do is encourage strong warrior women who don't take shit from anyone. You can still care about people, but not if that ends up screwing you over.

True, true. I don't like being around people who do hard drugs, but at least in theory, I am not against drugs and alcohol provided that a person does them truly recreationally. By that I mean in small doses, maybe a couple of times a year, safely (no sharing needles!), and not doing anything that's gonna get you arrested. But how many people can truly keep drugs and alcohol within safe limits? There are so many people who are alcoholics or smoke tons of weed every single day, or they're in reha…

I used to know a dude who spent $400 a week on weed. Ughhhhhh. How are you doing anything productive with your life when you smoke all that weed?! Answer: he wasn't, and eventually got fired from his job. Ugh again. He was also an alcoholic with cirrhosis before he turned 40. Such an irresponsible manbaby with no hobbies other than gaming and slowly killing himself with substance abuse.

Seriously, men don't wash pillowcases, towels, dishes, clothes, their own bodies...the list goes on. I have dated more than one man who left rotting jizz rags in his bedroom to get moldy because he was too lazy to throw them away. More than one man!!! Rotting jizz rags!!! I don't know how I ever had such low standards. I almost want to say we as a society have failed them by allowing them to be like this, but I'm sure that their moms/sisters/girlfriends have tried to teach them to do better. The…

Using someone's name constantly is a manipulative sales tactic. "[Name], you are going to love the Slice-n-Dice-omatic, and [Name], you won't believe how much value it adds to your life." The person is being overly familiar with you and trying to force a connection and rapport that you don't actually have so they can make you do what they want, and you'll fall for it because you two are such good pals already.

Ten minutes. Maybe. If he's not on time and it's not a true emergency (and in that case, he should be cancelling/rescheduling your date), he's demonstrating that he doesn't value you or your time.

It's because they have a dick. Possessing a penis makes them feel like the cock of the walk (pun intended). They'll do anything to satisfy the savage beast of their lust, and feel justified in doing anything to give you the magical gift of their semen. They also feel justified in doing women dirty because we're inferior creatures who don't have a dick, so we don't count and we aren't important.

Yes. It's great! We'd love to see you over at r/23andme. Just make really, really sure you're prepared for all the potential skeletons in your family's closet. Even allowing for a certain percentage of lying on the internet, there are a lot of credible-sounding people who have posted that they found out they or their relatives are the product of affairs, rape, secret sperm donations, unethical fertility doctors impregnating women with their own semen, incest, the list goes on. Or people who find…

It's difficult to find a job as an out-of-towner unless you're either in upper-level management or your skills are rare and in demand. Companies are not looking to deal with the hassle of hiring non-locals when they could easily hire someone who already lives there instead. If you're an average schlub who works in an office or a store or a factory, it's not happening. Unless you have a career trajectory where headhunters are actively recruiting you, it's way easier to move first and then find a …

A man who claims he doesn't know how to clean a bathroom is an idiot or thinks you are. 1) Go into your bathroom. 2) Wipe anything that looks dirty with a wet rag or some type of cleanser. Hot water and dish soap will work in a pinch. 3) You need to use Windex if you want your mirror to be streak-free. 4) Repeat as often as you need to keep things up to your personal standard. It is not hard to clean a bathroom. It is completely disingenuous to be a grown-up human being who can wake up in the mo…

There are very, very few men who can truly step up and be a good parent as a single dad. If he can do that, I consider that a positive sign that he can take charge and get shit done and not sit around the house being a passive man-baby and waiting for me for him to mother him. I miiiiiiiiiight consider dating a dude like that, but that's probably like 0.01% of single dads. I agree that most single dads are hoping for a new mommy for their kids so they don't have to do the actual hard work of par…

"Enjoying what we have for now" is a trap. It's too easy to let the days turn into weeks turn into months turn into years, and you've allowed a man you're not compatible with in the long term to waste years of your life. That's time you could spend finding a man who does want to have a baby with you. If a man doesn't want the same things you want, it's better to pull off the band-aid and end things now.

If he's telling the truth that something bad has happened that affects his ability to go back to law school, that probably means he's done something that makes it dubious or impossible that he could ever be licensed as a lawyer. The easiest way to do that in a hurry is to commit a serious crime - not just a misdemeanor. You don't want to be around someone like that. If he's not telling the truth about his life circumstances, then he's a big time flake and you don't want to be around him anyway. …

Chivalry isn't necessarily a good sign, either. Or at least, it's a necessary but not a sufficient condition for a man to be a good man. The most chivalrous man I ever met (always opened doors, always walked by the road when walking down the sidewalk with a woman) had two separate families that he abandoned. He also refused to help his young children buy a Mother's Day present for their mom (his ex).

That's because she spent however many years playing nursemaid to a dying man. That can happen to anyone at any age, but the odds go way up if you marry someone so much older than yourself. I don't like Callista Flockhart and Harrison Ford together for the same reason. She's 55, he's 77. She's clearly in the "sassy older woman coming into her own" stage while he's ready for the nursing home.

That's what Uber is for. Or your own car, or your friends or your mom, or even your own two feet. Being stuck at some dude's house listening to him snore while you can't escape is for the birds. It's a safety issue, too. You don't really know this guy. He could have terrible motives that you know nothing about. Always have a way to leave.
