They don’t commit suicide because they’re delusional, they commit suicide because people like you treat them like they’re delusional
/r/MensRights16/09/19 01:39 PM

I don’t see what you’re saying. The suicide rates of trans people go down when they’ve transitioned over to their new identity. It’s not a fallacy, it’s a statistic that has been proven.

The numbers show that it works, as rates of suicide and depression go down after transitioning, so I don’t know why you care so much

Imagine thinking SJWs are an actual problem
/r/AntiFeminists05/07/19 05:57 PM

That’s what actual psychologists recommend, and I think they have more credibility than you. Some people don’t understand why the trans suicide rate is so high, but maybe it’s because people don’t accept them! I know, that’s shocking.

If it is a mental illness, the treatment is transitioning and being treated as the gender they identify as.

When you get past a binary I feel you get past the idea of sex and it turns more to something else. This whole argument is really semantic, though, I think we’re mostly on the same side.

Intersex is a biological condition. You can’t really argue against it.
/r/AntiFeminists05/07/19 02:40 AM

I don’t see why intersex people who aren’t born with both would be considered a different sex. To me, sex is pretty much just what’s in your pants. Gender is far more complex than that, but I see sex as a binary.
/r/AntiFeminists05/07/19 02:30 AM

I get that, but don’t they normally lean mostly one way or the other? I’m not saying that intersex people should just be ignored, but I’m just trying to understand it.

Doesn’t only one part actually function though, making them more male or more female? Depending on who you ask, there could be no distinction between that and male or that and female.
/r/AntiFeminists04/07/19 10:22 PM

Gender is an identity. It is a spectrum. It’s not like you’re being asked to call someone an attack helicopter, you’re being asked to call someone how they identify. Also, there are not two sexes. Have you ever heard of intersex people? And the real perplexing part of this comment: what do you mean there are only two sexualities? Heterosexual, homosexual, and bisexual: those are all noncontroversial when it comes to normal people. That’s three.

It’s not a competition of who has more rights, which is why I don’t care. There are legitimate issues for women. Our political leadership is male dominated. Women are extremely likely to be sexually harassed at work. Our president is misogynistic. There are women’s issues that deserve attention. Men’s issues deserve attention too. Outside the US, there’s countries that are far behind in equality, where feminism is absolutely necessary. There are women’s rights and men’s rights issues everywhere.
/r/MensRights02/10/18 07:57 PM

It’s not a competition of who has the most privileges. It’s about equality. Men have some rights women don’t have and women have some rights men don’t have. There are men’s rights issues and women’s rights issues and both deserve attention. I’m not against feminism because feminism has some valid points. I also don’t support it because there’s just as many points that I disagree with. Women may have more rights than men. I’m not going to get into that because I really don’t know or care to know.…

I don’t agree with that sub, but I don’t necessarily agree with this sub either. I’m somewhere in the middle. A lot of people in this sub are similar to a lot of feminists, in that in their search for equality they overcompensate and instead fight for male superiority. I wish there was a sub somewhere in the middle because I’m not against feminism, which this sub is, but I’m also not a feminist, so r/menslib doesn’t work either.

You’re saying that the male victims of females can’t do anything, but you’re skipping over the fact that all do the male victims of males now have the law on their side
/r/MensRights02/10/18 12:27 AM
1

That’s not really a fair comparison though. In all of those the outcome is either worse or just as bad as getting nothing. You need to be happy with your victories and accept that you can’t get everything at once. If males can be victims of rape, that means it’s moving in the right direction. Complaining that it isn’t enough is stupid, as this is a major victory for all men who have been raped by other men.
/r/MensRights01/10/18 10:58 PM
0

I’m trying to say that you should be celebrating the victory you have, even if there’s still more that you need. It’s a step in the right direction, and whining about it will make it less likely that they’ll listen in the future.

But would you rather have half a cake or no cake?
/r/MensRights01/10/18 07:23 PM

This is still a step towards equality.
/r/MensRights01/10/18 04:25 PM

Why does it not work? Obviously this is more important than cake, but it’s the same basic concept.
/r/MensRights01/10/18 03:48 PM

Imagine not being happy getting what you’ve been asking for because you didn’t get all of what you asked for. If you get half of a cake even though you asked for a whole cake are you going to be happy that you got some cake or are you going to complain because you didn’t get enough cake?

I feel like women penetrating a man is a special scenario, which is why I ignored it, but I’m not exactly sure of the statistics, so maybe I’m wrong
/r/MensRights01/10/18 03:35 PM
12

It’s genderless when it comes to being a victim, but the definition requires penetration, so it excludes females as the perpetrators. It’s not perfect, but it includes males as victims, which is better than nothing.
/r/MensRights01/10/18 02:14 PM
20

You need to realize that you can’t get everything at once. Don’t complain because you didn’t get everything you wanted. This is still a big step forward, even if there is more that could have been done.
/r/MensRights01/10/18 02:11 PM

By that logic, men aren’t solely responsible, men are just more responsible. When it comes solely down to condom use, I do agree because there are different sized condoms and other things to consider such as that, so if a woman buys condoms, yes still possible they can’t be used. On the other hand, women can just say no and stop the unwanted pregnancy before it even is a risk. Maybe it’s equal responsibility for everyone (lol that’s obviously not true, it’s all men and women are oppressed /s.)
/r/MensRights18/09/18 09:47 PM

That’s not exclusive to this sub. It’s not everywhere, but it’s common on any political sub. That’s not to say I agree or disagree with any of the ideas, it’s the same on all sides of the spectrum.
/r/MensRights17/09/18 01:48 AM

I don’t really think of a specific gender. It really doesn’t matter. It’s an issue that affects males and females in the same way.
/r/MensRights15/09/18 04:51 PM

It still seems to me that it was trying to help girls, not to harm boys. It was just done in a way that was misguided and caused problems for boys.
/r/MensRights08/09/18 11:45 PM

The description of the book says that it’s arguing that it was misguided and not deliberately against boys. Give me one reason it was deliberate.

If you ask them and have them pay, fuck you regardless of your gender. Just talk about payment beforehand and decide who pays for it. If one person offers to pay, then they pay for all of it, otherwise split it.
/r/MensRights08/09/18 03:17 PM
2

I’ve stated this multiple other times in my other comments, but there’s different issues in education for both genders. I’m not saying that there’s no problems for males, I’m saying that it’s different and both deserve attention.
/r/MensRights08/09/18 01:12 PM
1

You can’t just make a claim like that without explanation. I think that’s complete bullshit. The only bias in schools against boys that I know of is teachers bias towards girls.
/r/MensRights08/09/18 01:07 PM
2

I didn’t even realize I downvoted, that was an accident. Again, it’s an issue for both genders with different causes and solutions to each.
/r/MensRights08/09/18 02:35 AM

I think a lot of the problem for males is also a higher dropout rate. I don’t think there’s anywhere in the word males are legally not allowed to go to school. The problems for each gender are very different and require very different solutions.
/r/MensRights08/09/18 02:25 AM
21

I don’t know anywhere in the world where men are not allowed to go to school. The root of the problem of people being out of school is different for each gender.
/r/MensRights08/09/18 02:14 AM

The biggest thing I dislike about feminism is the fact that I agree with most of the feminist points on your list, but then they don’t extend the same ideas to men.
/r/MensRights05/09/18 04:38 PM

I appreciate that they’d do that. Showing multiple sides of the issue is always a good thing.

I’m not trying to misrepresent you. You said the right is only against illegal immigration, I’m saying that’s not the right as a whole because he right isn’t one unified political ideology
/r/MensRights28/08/18 08:15 PM

I said some are, not all. There’s also some people on the right who don’t care about illegal immigration, although that number is very small. The right isn’t just one viewpoint, there’s a ton of people with different viewpoints who are on the right.

There’s no way to tell if there’s the same amount of evidence with the boy or less. If there’s less, this is completely fair. There’s no way to tell with any of this.
/r/MensRights28/08/18 05:19 PM

I’m not saying that there is or isn’t a problem with boys in situations like this, but there’s no way to tell if there’s any sort of sexism just from this post. You have to make assumptions about this to get any sort of idea of that.

/r/MensRights28/08/18 04:21 PM

That’s just trying to find a way that men are being discriminated that isn’t actually an issue. Most men aren’t colorblind, so it doesn’t affect most men. They would only be discriminating against colorblind people.

Pretty much everyone wants censorship of what they don’t agree with and doesn’t admit it, even if they have something valuable to say
/r/MensRights28/08/18 04:17 PM

All they said was there wasn’t enough evidence for the boy. There’s not enough context to know if that’s tied to bias or not.

Both parties want censorship but don’t admit it

The defendant should be believed by default, regardless of gender. That’s how the system in the US should work, since that’s how it has to be in order to be innocent until proven guilty, if that makes sense.

Women aren’t all like that. Most are not. His generalization is sexist.
/r/MensRights24/08/18 12:06 AM

Generalizing women like that makes you sexist. This is why people think the supporters of men’s rights are all just sexist.
/r/MensRights24/08/18 12:04 AM

You’re generalizing all women as like this, which makes you an asshole. You’re sexist. This shot is exactly why people think anyone who supports men’s rights is sexist.

/r/MensRights22/08/18 02:02 PM

If person A is intentionally trying to get person B drunk, knowing they wouldn’t consent sober, and gets drunk as well, that is rape. If two people get drunk and decide to have sex, one person isn’t necessarily coercing the other. I don’t think you really understand what the word coercion means.
/r/MensRights22/08/18 04:37 AM
1

The basis for it being rape is that two people have sex and one doesn’t consent. If two people are both drunk and both want to have sex, it’s not coercion.
/r/MensRights22/08/18 04:31 AM
1

Yes. The sober person is able to consent while the drunk person isn’t.
/r/MensRights22/08/18 04:20 AM
1

Rape is a violent crime, but two drunk people having sex isn’t necessarily rape. You can’t draw parallels to stabbing here. It doesn’t make sense. Stabbing causes injury, sex normally does not. You can’t consent to stabbing. There’s so many problems with that comparison. Sex (including rape) is a unique case when it comes to legal issues, so it’s not something where you can compare it to some other crime.
/r/MensRights22/08/18 04:11 AM
1

You’re drawing a lot of false parallels in your arguments. Stabbing isn’t the same thing as sex.
/r/MensRights22/08/18 03:59 AM
1

With your analogy of raping someone at knifepoint, both people being drunk would be both people holding each other down at knifepoint
/r/MensRights22/08/18 03:48 AM
1

Both people have to consent to sex. Initiating sex is a form of consent. If you initiate sex while drunk, you initiate it, but you can’t actually consent.
/r/MensRights22/08/18 03:19 AM
1

Because neither of them did anything wrong while they were drunk. The situation is only really different if one person is intoxicated and the other isn’t. The sober person can take advantage of the fact that the other is impaired to have sex with them when they otherwise would have said no.
/r/MensRights22/08/18 03:11 AM
1

If they’re both drunk, it should be treated the same as if neither are drunk. I think that’s the easiest way to put what I’m trying to say.
/r/MensRights22/08/18 03:07 AM
1

I’m not saying that if someone who is drunk rapes another person that it isn’t rape. If a drunk person rapes someone, they raped someone. My point is that if two drunk people have sex and both of them consent to it even though they’re too drunk to legally consent, it’s not rape. If both people are drunk, it should be treated the same as if they weren’t. It’s different when one person is drunk because then they’re able to take advantage of the other’s impairment. Does that make sense? If it’s con…
/r/MensRights22/08/18 02:26 AM
1

Not having sex with a drunk woman is the right thing to do. If she’s too drunk to consent, it’s rape. If both of you are drunk and unable to consent, then it’s not, but if she’s drunk and you’re not, you’re still raping her. It’s the same if you flip genders around, a woman who has sex with a man too drunk to consent raped him.
/r/MensRights22/08/18 12:07 AM
1

I see your argument showing more of a feminist side of this than anything. Your argument could be used to say that people think it’s not okay to be a girl. Either way I think any of the justification is just grasping at straws.
/r/MensRights20/08/18 09:51 PM
1

I did explain the cause though. Even if what you’re saying is true, the pink being a girl color and blue being a boy color is mostly perpetuated by little kids. Little boys don’t want to get a pink train because that’s for girls.
/r/MensRights20/08/18 09:21 PM
1

You seem like you’re just assuming the worst in everything and assuming everything is anti male. I don’t think this is anti male, I think it just has to do with supply and demand, and at least that part you agree with. Boys want trains more and boys don’t want pink trains, so there’s a higher demand for the blue train. The pink train is less popular because trains are considered a boy’s toy and the pink train is for girls, therefore the pink train is less popular and cheaper. It’s still stupid, …

There’s not different coffee for each gender. At that point, you’re charging more based on gender with no real justification.
/r/MensRights19/08/18 09:49 PM

It’s sexist towards both, especially since it puts the blame on women if they’re abused.
/r/MensRights19/08/18 05:05 PM

I think it’s pretty obvious the blue is for boys and pink is for girls. Blue is a boy color and pink is a girl color. It’s pretty stupid, but that’s how our society views it.

In concentrated amounts, things can be bad that would be good with a smaller dose. Assertiveness turns to aggressiveness when there’s too much of it. That would be the kind of thing I think toxic masculinity is supposed to mean, it’s just that it got twisted to be basically just masculinity in general.

Why just a son? Why not just a child?

The vocal feminists are the anti men ones. Feminism is less about equality as it was in the past, but there are still those who believe in equality.
/r/MensRights27/07/18 08:19 PM

Feminism is not an anti male hate movement because it no longer is a very organized movement. There’s too many subsets of feminists that have differing views. There’s those that want men to have equal rights and those who think men are evils, those who think trans people are anti feminist and those who think transgender issues are feminist issues, and many others. It’s not organized. There’s some subsects of the feminist movement that are anti male, but not all of them are.
/r/MensRights27/07/18 08:08 PM

I’ve gotten a couple of my friends to listen to it, but I’m the only one who actually listens to it for fun. My girlfriend was confused when she heard a few seconds of it, and she’s heard other weird stuff that I’ve made her listen to, like Scott Walker, but Trout Mask Replica was too much for her.
/r/MensRights27/07/18 06:17 PM

I can’t imagine how hard it would have been for me to get into it if I wasn’t already into avant garde jazz. I think the only reason I finally fully got into it around the third listen was because that was after I started listening to avant garde jazz.

/r/MensRights27/07/18 05:33 PM

A better example would be all of the emo rap and trap rap that all sounds the same. Trout Mask Replica is an extremely important and unique album. It might not be easily enjoyable to an average person, but it’s incredibly important and influential (it’s even influential outside of music, considering that it’s the favorite album of both Matt Groening and David Lynch).

/r/MensRights27/07/18 04:25 PM

Your body builds up a tolerance to heroin. You keep doing it and it keeps taking more and more to give the high you want. It’s also highly addictive and it becomes your life and is extremely hard to get off. There’s also the risk of STDs when people share needles.
/r/MensRights27/07/18 01:31 PM

“Men should be allowed to defend themselves if a woman hits them” “Are you saying women should be allowed to just hit women?” It seems like a dumb distinction between just hitting someone and self defense, but this is a situation that will come up regularly.
/r/MensRights02/07/18 03:44 AM

I think I clarified myself in the other comment. It’s not an issue that the right to vote is based on Selective Service. It’s an issue that not signing up for selective service is a crime and that women don’t have to participate. The issue of selective service is somewhat arbitrary and mostly symbolic though since it hasn’t been used since 1973 and it doesn’t seem to me like there’s going to be a need for it soon without some major unexpected issue, although I’m not the most knowledgeable on tha…

I don’t think it’s an issue that the right to vote is dependent on Selective Service, the issue is that Selective Service is only required for males.
/r/MensRights27/06/18 11:27 AM

The main thing is Selective Service is bad, the rest is hard to explain because it’s so particular, and it doesn’t matter all that much anyway.

The numbers they have are 1 in 6 females and 1 in 33 males. IIRC the only inaccuracy is that it doesn’t include women raping men, which, if I’m remembering correctly, is 40% of rapes in males. Just to make the math easier, ill have it as 50%. If they miss 50% of rapes against males, then the number would be about 1 in 16 (rounded for easier math). So even with making slight changes for the ease of math that increase the number of rapes against males, it’s still well over twice as common for a wo…
/r/MensRights25/06/18 03:16 AM

If it makes sense, what I’m trying to say is that the results of you not joining Selective Service make sense, since it’s considered a felony. The problem is that it’s considered a felony. It’s really particular what I’m trying to say, so it’s hard to communicate clearly.
/r/MensRights25/06/18 03:09 AM

I’m saying that the problem is Selective Service. It makes sense that you can’t vote for committing a felony. It’s not a problem that you can’t vote if you don’t join Selective Service. Selective Service is definitely a problem. I think I’m just having trouble communicating my position and that’s why I’m getting downvoted.
/r/MensRights24/06/18 07:57 PM
-6

So it is arbitrary. Every male is required to sign up for Selective Service, and if you don’t do that you don’t vote. That makes sense. The issue here isn’t to do with voting, it’s to do with the male exclusivity of Selective Service.
/r/MensRights24/06/18 07:10 PM

Can you explain the men have the privilege to vote when women have the right to vote? I’ve always heard everyone has the right to vote, and even if it is true that men have it as a privilege and not a right, then why does that mean it can just be taken away easily? And even if it can be taken away easily, it’s not being taken away, so isn’t it just an arbitrary distinction between words?

I mean it makes sense to have a women’s sports charity over a men’s sports charity since women’s sports are underrepresented relative to men’s sports, but the others and the fact that a sports charity is above any men’s charity is stupid

From my experience as an autistic person, I’ve never had trouble with guidance. Maybe I’m just lucky, which is definitely possible. I also have mild autism, so that’s probably part of it.

It makes sense that there’s lower rates of rape in female inmates because female on female rape is probably the lowest rate and male on male rape is the highest rate for males.

Where? I don’t see it saying more males are sexually assaulted than women. I’ve heard the statistic of 1 in 5 women used frequently, and, assuming that true, less men are sexually assaulted than women. Even in that case, in my opinion the major problems we need to work on with sexual assault for males and females are different. With women, the problem lies mostly in the rate, while with males the biggest problem is how it is dealt with. According to this (https://www.rainn.org/statistics/victims…

The point of this post is the word choice though, so that’s kind of irrelevant. That also shows that he could have gotten a better example though and used a case where the woman was a punished. OP isn’t smart.

That’s why I’m saying he should have found another article. They should have used articles where the crimes committed were similar in severity as opposed to one where the female commits a significantly less extreme crime
/r/MensRights31/05/18 12:27 AM

What the man did was worse, so they use harsher language. OP is cherry picking stories. There’s probably another story about a female that would be more comparable in severity that would still make the same point.
/r/MensRights30/05/18 11:20 PM

Why does OP have to post some cherry picked bullshit like this? There’s probably some more easy to find stories that support this point that are more similar in nature. A 25 year old having sex with a 13 year old that the 13 year old consented to (not legally consent, so it’s still rape) isn’t the same as a 49 year old with four 7-8 year olds. Neither is okay, but the male criminal had more victims and younger victims and victims who were not as willing. The most fucked up part of the story of t…

There are two problems I have with this. Specifying women could turn some people off for one. The second is that it shouldn’t be the sex offender registry. It should be a separate list or a sub-list or something like that. It shouldn’t be put with people who legitimately raped or molested someone. A sex offender is someone who rapes or molests someone, not someone who makes a false accusation of a crime. Maybe there should be another list for people who knowingly falsely accuse people of crimes.

I’m trying to show you that you’re answering your own questions. Why put pressure on the Girl Scouts to improve when the Boy Scouts already do it better? It takes a lot more to improve the Girl Scouts than to make the Boy Scouts available to both genders. There’s nothing harming males in allowing both genders into the Boy Scouts.

The Girl Scouts were unwilling to improve, and the Boy Scouts took over for them

The Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts planned to merge before, but Girl Scouts were unwilling to do so. Girl Scouts didn’t just give Boy Scouts the responsibility so they didn’t have to, Girl Scouts were unwilling to improve, so Boy Scouts just let anyone in.

How does it destroy a boy’s opportunity to be a boy? It just allows people to do it regardless of gender. Girl Scouts also doesn’t get to do a lot of the outdoor stuff that Boy Scouts do. There’s many girls who would have loved to do everything Boy Scouts did, but they were forced into Girl Scouts. Now they can join it, and it allows so much more for them.
/r/MensRights06/05/18 02:39 PM

It doesn’t affect males that girls are allowed in Boy Scouts. Girl Scouts doesn’t matter to employers, being an Eagle Scout does.

I do understand why you and others might see some problems with them publishing this, but I don’t think the publisher should be taking any responsibility unless they are explicitly endorsing it as opposed to being neutral towards it. If there were many articles like this, that’s where I’d start to question it.

I’d say there is no line, unless they’re just saying it without any facts to back it up. I think the fact that anyone wrote this is disgusting, but it shouldn’t be up to The New York Times to take responsibility for those claims. That’s just up to the author. The quality control at The New York Times probably would stop any opinions that don’t have anything to back them up, and allow anything that has some sort of justification for the opinion to get through.

Don’t say that The New York Times thinks that. It clearly says “opinion”. They separate their opinions from their actual news because they have so much journalistic integrity.

From my experience, the reason women are less likely to commit suicide isn't because of a different reason, but because of women being more open about emotions. This is not a male specific issue, but society looking down upon men being open about their emotions is a male issue.

One example? Suicide. Even if men make up 80% of suicide cases, 20% is not negligible and is a huge amount of people.

I don't agree with these feminists, and I stated in my post that I agree with this sub more than I do any feminist sub. I think there was a time when feminism was necessary. Women were not allowed to do many basic things men were allowed to do. Now, I believe that there's no need to specify gender in almost all issues. I feel like almost every issue should be treated as applying to everyone. Edit: So if there was no feminist movement trying to put down males, then men's rights groups would be un…

I think you're just misunderstanding what I'm saying. Suicide isn't a gender issue because it affects both genders in a significant amount. Even if it's more male, it's a significant amount of both genders. The workplace deaths is the same as the wage gap with how I view it. The wage gap doesn't take into account what jobs men and women are working, education, or anything else. There's more factors to the data than just how much people are paid. Men account for 93% of workplace deaths (I think t…

Suicide isn't a gender issue, it's an issue that affects both genders. Men generally are more willing to take jobs that are less safe in my experience, and are generally more physically capable, so they can take more physically demanding jobs, which are generally less safe. That's what I mean by it being a job issue as opposed to a male issue. It's a job issue that mainly affects males. I don't understand what you were saying about domestic violence. I was just wondering what the source was for …

That can happen, but it isn't everyone. I wouldn't put alimony as something related to that. It's not often that a woman will just quickly get a divorce after getting married just to demand alimony payments. Generally, there will be time between the money on marriage and alimony payments. Even then, if the man truly loves the woman and should be marrying her, he should be happy to spend his money on their wedding.

If you spit on the man after, you're just being an asshole. Also, nobody is stopping you from being the pursuer, it's just expected of men because of biology.

"Shit" is generally not enough to get called explicit on iTunes, this isn't a sexist thing. The pop songs are both more subtle and based on innuendo (although the "naked in your bed" line is not subtle in any way), and the rap songs are much more sexually aggressive. Both deserve to be targeted, but the rap songs definitely deserve more of it.

Normally, women are pursued and men pursue in relationships. This is why men are expected to be chivalrous and give gifts, while its not expected of women to the same degree. These things, in a good relationship, extend both ways, but it is more from the man because of the male being the pursuer.
/r/MensRights16/02/18 03:15 AM

Women should be polite to men too, but biologically, men pursue and women are pursued for relationships. This means that a man needs to prove to whatever woman he is into that he is the best man for her, and in our society, it makes sense that this is communicated through gifts and chivalry. If you just think about it at a surface level, yes it's unfair, but if you look at it as a men being the persuer and the woman being the pursued, it makes more sense. Being polite and giving gifts should ext…
