How is there not a law protecting an employee from being fired for self defense, especially with no harm to others?

That guy could be charged with simple battery as he is not a property owner. As for a property owner they have the right to use reasonable force to eject trespassers. Google "Right to Eject Trespasser From Real Property" on your own time instead of writing this kind of nonsense comment.
