Those do look nice, and tough. I like how the Field Notes books look as they wear in, but the truth is that by the time I fill each one up, the cover is almost falling off.

Is 0 an element of the set "few"?

Well nowadays these books end up full of todo lists, notes, electronic waveforms, circuit diagrams, sketches, and half assed calculations. Few phone numbers and field reports.

Lol, it's a Fisher Space Pen the best pocket pen I've ever had. Folded up it totally disappears into my pocket so I'm never without a writing implement. It's also part of Mythbutser Adam Savage's every day carry.

Yeah that is a downside, but there's something about a physical notebook that I prefer. I've tried evernote and other apps and never got into the same note taking habit that I have with a small notebook and a fisher space pen. Also, more on topic to this subreddit, it's probably easier to number close when you slide a notebook and a pen across the table than your iPhone. Been in a LTR for a while now and I'm rusty on tactics.

I'm a programmer too... that's a good analogy, this is just a nice big code, run, debug loop :D

I've tested the cube on a couple of my female friends and you're right, it does work really well... I think I'm more worried about openers being saturated, since at this point I just want to get over approach anxiety and successfully open a few sets and keep them going for a while. If I can get that far as a first step learning this stuff, I'd be pretty happy.

Total newbie here, been reading up and I think I know enough theory to get started in the field, but this post brings up my current biggest fear which is that things are so saturated in the field that every girl will have heard the same material 100 times and I'll end up nowhere. How saturated are things really? Should I just try anyway and hope for the best? I'm trying to come up with some of my own material but I don't think I have anything decent yet.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
