That sounds a bit degrading, don’t you think? In addition, a 'female' could be anything, not necessarily a human. Your dog might be a female. This is a public forum, is it not? I'm replying to that mindset because I think it's toxic and unhealthy in relationships. If someone doesn't care about having a healthy relationship, sure, they can have "backups" all they want. Now I'm done replying so you have a nice day.

I'm literally a woman and I couldn't fathom doing that to my boyfriend. He's an absolute catch and treats me well. I don't keep friends around as back up. It doesn't matter what narrative you're spouting, it's unhealthy to be in a relationship while simultaneously not trusting in the relationship and your s/o. I disagree with the "us vs them" mindset anyways. Sure, certain women and certain men are going to behave like that, but there are nice people out there that aren't always playing into tha…

Wow, the amount of comments saying to keep the other girls as backup... yikes. If you're in a healthy relationship you'd be committed and wouldn't even be thinking about needing backups. Ignore those fools. God. This is why some of these people are still single...

Yeah, no. That screams insecure. Keeping them around as friends is just fine as long as boundaries are stated firmly, but keeping them around for the sole purpose of having "backups"? Yikes.
