After my experiences on dating sites, I’d be happy just to receive a message that indicated they actually read my profile and decided to send me something personalized.

Dating apps force you to dox yourself. They need your location, real name, and photos. That’s…not something I want to share with strangers online, especially those that are using dating apps in bad faith.

It’s been over a year but I definitely remember seeing this!

I got cancelled so hard on my own Discord server today because a girl made an anonymous confession saying she wants to start selling her panties and I responded saying that sex work is dangerous and not empowering. The attacks against me went on for hours and I got some very straight-for-the-jugular personal attacks. At one point I tried to say that a lot of young women are groomed into sex work by existing sex workers and I posted a link from this sub and was laughed at by many people.

I used to do the exact same thing on okcupid. Long, cold, bitchy profile. I got so much success and so many high-quality guys!! It made me feel so so confident and I really trusted the quality of the people I met. Additionally, they were guys looking to narrow down the generic girls and searching for someone specific too. One of my fears is ending up with someone who doesn’t care who he’s dating, just wants a girlfriend (any girlfriend), and not me specifically.

I completely agree. I believe 100% of men would choose woman 1, and the few men that say they’d choose woman 2 would just pump and dump her. I’m also inclined to believe that more women would prefer man 1 over man 2 than the comments reflect, but to me personally man 1 sounds disgusting inside out

I haven’t had a chance to read through all the comments yet (I was the first person to comment!) but what it looks like is that most of the women commenting aren’t into extrovert gym rats, and they don’t like that he’s cocky about the fact that he can get other women. The description says something about him not putting up with any shit because he has other options. I wouldn’t want to be with someone that makes me feel so replaceable and makes me feel like I’d have to walk on eggshells and never…

Man #1 turned me off with almost every single sentence. Man #2 sounds like a better match for me. I’d wish he was a little more ambitious career-wise but I’d definitely still choose him with that caveat over someone stereotypically “hot” and super popular.

Im in my 20s and I’ve watched season one with my mom! I loved all the books when I was young. I remember being a 7 year old and my mom and I would go to garage sales all over town searching for the books, and we set up an eBay account together to buy the ones we couldn’t find locally.

Just this morning I walked in to find my mom watching the movie about Tina Turner where she’s played by Angela Bassett! I think the first time I ever heard of Tina Turner was in the context of learning about her song What’s Love Got to Do With It and the meaning of it. It was explained to me as an anthem for all battered women. Sort of sad, actually, that my first (and only, for some time) impression of her was linked to her abuse.

Yesterday alone my ex used four discord accounts to contact me. In the past week it was six discord, one Instagram, and three reddit accounts. Yesterday he wrote “girl it takes five minutes to make a new account.”

My ex made a post on relationship advice flipping the genders and ages and asked about sex then showed it to me purposely like “see, I’m right about this” but the fact that the genders were switched was probably a MASSIVE part of the answers!

I feel the exact same way. The world is filled with overweight bearded blue collar men, or tan blonde muscly fuckboys. I’m exclusively attracted to pale skinny guys with dark curly hair. I’ve said this in the comments of another sub before and got called a lesbian, and someone told me my taste was “emo boys.” Not the same thing at all. Recently went through a breakup with a cute British guy, skinny and pale with black curly hair, adorable voice. It’s especially tough because all my options going…

Learning to walk in high heels. Shaving my legs and underarms. Wearing thongs or no-show panties. Makeup. I was just recently thinking about how these things were stressed so heavily to me as a child, like my mom forced me to wear a thong as early as 11 years old, and now as an adult it’s just…not a huge deal culturally? None of those things are a big part of my life and cross my mind? Mainly the heels and no-show panties, though

My love language is physical touch and that manifests as me giving a lot of hugs, a lot of hand holding, and putting my hand on someone’s shoulder. I mostly do this with my family. Touch as a love language does not have to be sexual.

If this gets played off like the similar tropes in Normal People “it’s not meant to be a love story. It’s a story about two very flawed individuals crossing paths.” 🙄

Men act very passive-aggressive and very nonchalant in order to make women look like they’re hysterical, and therefore should not be taken seriously. This reminds me so, so much of my most recent relationship. So many things I learn about Gabby and Brian remind me of it, but that sentence specifically. Making me out to be the villain or the aggressor by projecting the things he’s done to me.

Personally I also play some video games and don’t agree with 100% of what you said, but I do have very similar views about male anime consumption. You’re not alone. You’re not in the wrong. You have every right to not date men who make their entire lives about the consumption of media that just doesn’t mesh with you, and you deserve to find a partner who shares your beliefs. As someone else pointed out, typically women that play video games don’t do it for 18 hours a day like men. We remember to…

So they’ll send it and then immediately remove their message after they see that it’s been marked as read. I don’t know if Bumble has a feature to remove your own message, but many other sides (Reddit, Discord) do.

I’ve only ever known one guy named Ivan my whole life. We went to elementary school together and when my mom was working as the librarian there, he went to check out a book, asked her if I was her daughter, then immediately started trash talking me to her. Even for like an 11 year old, who does that? She took his ass straight to the principal’s office.

I met a guy in his 20s who told me the best year of his entire life was 2008 or something. He would’ve been like 10 years old. Nothing in your life since then has made you as happy as running around with your little boy friends?

This is the sole reason I joined this sub after hearing that you’re “femcels” and worse. Because I was made to feel like a frigid bitch for not wanting to date homeless drug addicts. God forbid I say I want to date someone that at least has a bachelor’s degree or is obtaining it (I’ll have a master’s this time next year), or someone that doesn’t have a hentai tentacle fetish.

The past five years I’ve been made to feel like a frigid bitch simply for not wanting to date unemployed weed smokers. So at this point my only freaking standard is not to be a druggie.

They don’t ask for consent so that they can do it anyway and “technically you never told them not to” or “they had no idea you wouldn’t like it.” Asking consent is risking having you say no, which wouldn’t do.

This is high-value material to me because some of my favorite foods are Mac n cheese and goldfish crackers. I’m a college professor and I have a very childlike appetite. I’ve tried to expand my palate to no avail. I would prefer this meal to a home cooked meal of steak or lobster because it means that the man paid attention to what I said I liked rather than selecting an expensive food that he assumes all women like.
