Jung was a student of Freud. Some of Jung's work is a refinement of topics Freud touched on or didn't explore thoroughly. So you're technically correct, in that Jung could more accurately be credited with the "discovery" of certain psychological concepts, but Freud laid the foundation for them earlier.

Freud was a pioneer who did two important things for psychology: He introduced effective application of the scientific method to psychology (psychotherapy) He discovered fundamental questions and concepts (unconscious mind, developmental psychology, etc) While the conclusions he reached were wildly off base and have been discredited, the underlying science that he helped develop was sound. For that, he's still known as and taught as the Father of Psychology.
