I was circumcised as a four-year-old without any anesthesia, right here in America. the only thing that is worse is living in a country where I am the only one who cares about what was done to me. Even on subreddits such as our /r/nursing, no one gives a shit about consent for young males.

I already stated that the restored skin is not as specialized as the original. I was simply countering your absolutist comment about how it's just stretched skin or that it just creates new skin cells "and nothing more." My firsthand experience speaks otherwise. You don't regrow new nerve endings, but that doesn't mean that the new tissue you do gain isn't innervated. It is. It most certainly is.

the word for many cells together is tissue. So its not a stretch to say its new tissue growth. hah c wut i did thar? Anyways, this new skin/tissue you grow in fact adds to the feeling you have in your penis. Source: I have new skin, completely different colored from the shaft skin, its new erogenous tissue. You actually do grow new tissue. Stretching induces mitosis. Mitosis triggers more cells. More cells eventually equal more tissue. Evenetually you have eneough tissue to extend the tip of your skin tube (from your circ scar below the glans) to past the glans. It is not streched, thinner skin like you are talking about. Ill never know if the feelings I get from this new tissue is as good as the original(probably isnt) but its certainly worlds better than being cut and tight. Just to clarify Sourc…

I was born 3 months pre-mature so I avoided getting circumcised...until I was 4 and it was simply done to me for no medical reason whatsoever. Reading this just makes me sad all over again for what could have been :(

Or even worse still, that same person lives in a country where circumcision is the norm, and no one will ever share his ideals for wishing he had his foreskin. He is forever alienated and humiliated for his ideals save for the smallest of safe-havens.

It bothers me when people say "it up to the parents" when talking about the infant boy's genitals. As a circumcised man, I couldn't possibly disagree more. What % of the female's body do we leave it "up to the parents" to cut off without their consent again?

The day I was circumcised. I was 4 years old when the procedure was quite simply forced on me without my consent, without any anesthesia. The physical and mental trauma that is having the flesh ripped away from you, and then cut away from you is not something that will ever leave your mind. That day will be BURNED into my mind for as long as I live. I will never stop speaking out for the rights of the child and its bodily integrity. This goes for both genders. I will never stop.

I physically couldn't bring myself to watch it. After witnessing the procedure done live a number of times, it brought those screams right back into my head, and the tears right back to my eyes. Lets just all remember to do our part and continue to speak out for the rights of the child. We will get this practice stopped.

I was deceived into being circumcised at the age of 4. I remember the procedure entirely. Never was it explained to me, never was my consent asked for. Deception of that nature should be illegal. I am fucked for the rest of my life because someone else made a permanent body-altering decision for me.
