I translate all this to mean "He wouldn't put me first (above himself)"

Forward this conversation to the current husband immediately. Somehow I think the fact that "This thing here is over" will be quite a surprise to him.

I have but one upvote to give you, good sir... But, a correction to the last line, in my opinion, should be: And the laws and society would [not only] do nothing to stop her, but would actually encourage and reward her for doing so.

Well, Millennials according to wikipedia are: "early 1980s as starting birth years and the mid-1990s to early 2000s as ending birth years." So if you were born in 1982 you'd be 36 and born in 2002, 16. Since the average age of first divorce is somewhere in your mid/late 30s, that would mean most Millennials aren't there yet... just give it time. Funny how one can twist statistics to mean whatever they want it to sound like? https://divorcescience.org/2017/02/06/age-of-first-marriage-first-di…

My most common response to that question is this: Who hurt you? You want the whole list or just the ones from today?

Professional athletes get paid proportionally to how much money they bring in. Not sexism, but rather pure capitalism. When the women's sport brings in as much in revenue as the men's then they deserve to get paid the same. I fail to see the problem here...

Ironic that the name of the boat is "Hakuna Matata."

Wow. Just wow. Reading this thread, I thought I'd go educate myself about paternity tests. So I went and looked it up on Wikipedia. Interesting stuff, but then I looked at the first reference at the bottom and read an article in the NY Times (caution direct link). In that NY Times article, it said this: Besides relieving anxiety, the test results might allow women to terminate a pregnancy if the preferred man is not the father — or to continue it if he is. Well that's just horrible.

The most shocking thing to me is that these men would actually take her back after the divorce proceedings got that far.

Of course they are... just as is a prestigious job is to a man. Hm, funny how that works, isn't it?

I was very careful to not have any children while I was younger, why would I want to be with someone who wasn't as careful as I was? Seems like a red flag about decision-making abilities to me.

I had to resurrect my old unused Reddit account to make this statement: I am 47 years old, alone, unmarried and I haven't been happier in my life. Going your OWN way is the only way... My experience. Do not believe this kind of hype, brothers.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
