I agree… some days I just have to keep myself from looking. I hope you’re doing well regardless. ☺️

As someone who will struggle with infertility and wants to be a mom so damn badly… this thread really hurts to read. I really hope that someone would find joy in the journey of battling my degenerative disease. It’s a big ask, but I just want a little bundle of joy. Thinking about it makes me cry quite a bit. I hope my value isn’t attached to something that is completely and entirely out of my control. I hope some of you maintain grace for those who have chronic illness.

My reading comprehension flew out the window. Sorry for misunderstanding you, thanks for clarifying
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/23 12:35 AM

I just said I’m a low N.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/23 12:13 AM

Who said I wanted a relationship with a virgin? What?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/23 12:05 AM

Thanks so much, seriously. I appreciate it. Turned 28 this year and the closer I near 30, I feel sick. I just feel like I failed at something along the way.

Thanks—appreciate it. I’ve been trying really hard to see both sides of the coin, but it sucks to be told you’re a skank by these huge influencers. I’m useless because I don’t have kids, because I have nice tattoos, I’m useless because I’ve had long term relationships that ended, useless because I have a graduate degree, or my hair isn’t long enough. It fucking sucks

Conflating what exactly? Does sex with a boyfriend not count as sex?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/23 10:01 PM

Free of disease and STIs
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/23 09:54 PM

Yes I agree. As a woman and someone who tries to maintain a healthy life, it’s important to keep myself clean. I do think that, if one is to judge their partner on their body count, then it should go both ways.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/23 09:51 PM

I see. I’d say 10. But it depends on your partner. Each of my former partners have been in my life for long periods of time. I just think it’s too nuanced of a situation to slap someone with the conclusion that they’re a whore
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/23 09:47 PM

Not sure I understand what you mean.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/23 09:43 PM

I’m curious what the definition of a partner is—one night stands or a long term sexual relationship? Edit/ highjacking my comment to say that the majority of men reported 15+ sexual partners versus the majority of women reporting less than 10. Seems 5-9 is the true median.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/23 09:35 PM

Makes me feel like shit. My number isn’t even high, but it’s like I’m not allowed to have a relationship with some guys. I’ve even been told that I’m lying about my count. Why tf would I lie. Like if you think I’m a dirty slut, leave me alone. They all want high-value women until they meet their match and then they grasp at straws to make you feel like shit.

Women would figure out right quick how many men truly abide by chivalric code. Assuming their partners aren’t deadbeats or Crowder 2.0s.

I’m not denying that in any extent. I know some women who greatly appreciate being catcalled, just as much as I know some men who abhor the idea of being on the receiving end. I suppose it also depends on the definition of unwanted sexual behavior. I find compliments are the most kind gesture without being sexually charged.

I wasn’t stating that they don’t respond differently in certain situations. It’s certainly not insane to think that both genders don’t appreciate unwarranted sexual behavior in some degree. Please reread my above comment.

It’s a super dangerous presumption to make that all sexual attention is gratifying to some degree. It can be welcoming in some cases and degrading in others, but one gender does not appreciate it more over another. Just let people exist for the sake of existing and stop seeing them as purely sexual objects.

Sure—guess I’ve never equated fuckboy to having a sexual attraction to someone, just my opinion.

My impression of the term “fuckboy” isn’t a guy who gets laid constantly, but someone who is emotionally immature, lacks empathy, and has no enjoyable personality traits. I think the sleeping around part is fine or whatever, but the whole point of a fuckboy is that they typically /are/ an asshole about things.

Right. It’s very frustrating, and the dating game is hard to navigate with these implications. If it works with someone I enjoy, I’m all in. My parents were engaged within six months of meeting each other, and they’ve been together for 30 years. Of course, the men I meet have nuances to them, just as every person does. But I’m more aligned in doing the work to make a good life for myself than most, which can be intimidating to some.

In my eyes, absolutely nothing. In their eyes, they see it as “conforming” to a “draconian” way of life. In specific feminist circles, matronly/motherly roles are seen as cowardly and dangerous ideologies, therefore inherently anti-feminist. I disagree with this sentiment. I find it empowering to be able to decide what life I want for myself, and people are not good/bad for wanting a specific way of life that conform to traditional societal roles. Being a mother is the highest honor and I look f…

For me (28f), personally, I think it has to do with being raised in such an independent way that it’s actually toxic. Being able to hold my own self is a positive trait in some ways, but it’s difficult to want to rely on someone else, which is ultimately what men are looking for. Combine that with societal pressures for women to remain single (e.g. the pop culture phenomena of serial killers, anti-men tropes played by musical artists, third wave feminism). On top of this, I am often shamed by ot…

This is why I take pride in helping raise my brothers. I taught them to be loyal, stand your ground, family first, and don’t compromise your happiness for someone else’s benefit. Never lay your hands on a woman. Never tolerate abuse from a woman. Be honest and genuine. Be able to live your life on your terms.

Ha! I’m definitely a traditionalist as I’m learning more. Thanks for the advice.

This is what I want to learn more about. I’m just now realizing how unbalanced dating is. I just met someone who I vibed really well with—we had great physical chemistry, same morals/ethics, same stance on families. But he just wouldn’t believe that I am a demure, gentle, kind and family-oriented woman. Flat out denied it. Said I was lying to him about my body count and more (why would I lie about that?) It’s just odd. I’m trying to understand how men feel in the “life partner” arena. I understa…

I agree with this. Wish I could find someone who felt the same, or a man who will commit

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
