I have to point out that mace is illegal in many places, however it's less effective than pepper spray. Mace is a form of tear gas, and is ineffectual on people who are very drunk or very high. Pepper spray however works on everyone.

I'm not sure about always wrong, but the people who are going to side with the guy are few and far between. What I'd most likely do is just try to help the guy by telling him to get way from her. Still this situation would piss me off too much to not do anything, I would really want to help.

One of the things that they said in the video is that it could just be that they fucked up with this ad, since it's confusing and poorly executed. I remember documentary we watched in my high school psych class, about a man who's entire penis was burnt off by an alternative circumcision method. His parents decided to raise him as a girl. He eventually committed suicide in his late thirties or early forties after finding out the truth, and struggling with his gender identity for many years. That is enough of a reason to get rid of it. It is a practice that has the ability to ruin a life in that substantial a way.

I see no indication whatsoever that the boy "raped" the girl. He had sex with her and stopped as soon as she said to stop. I think that is a decent point in that when consent was categorically refused he wanted to stop. I can only begin to imagine why this 12 year old girl wanted this whole situation to take place. I mean she seems like she's on a fast track to be diagnosed a sociopath when she is the legal age to do so.

Plus it's fucking gross. I mean come on, there doesn't need to be any intellectual points made to demonstrate public disapproval of this. I actually had NO FUCKING IDEA that this was done, until Hitchens mentioned it in God is not great, and I read that only a few months ago. I was shocked, and I think anyone who hasn't heard of it by now, would be as well. I know I'm being reactionary here, but that's a visceral response to something that is fucked up, and that is rational in this case.

It seems a bit condescending in the way it's written but I agree with it's overall point. She seems to be saying that men are being unjustly demonized, however she also seems to be saying that we can't help it in some cases. Testosterone has nothing to do with violence, war, genocide, or rape.

This is dumb, it is exactly like something I saw a on /r/atheism. It was a cover about the war on Christians. Everyone thought it was the bullshit thing that Christians are claiming in America and was a biased right wing propaganda piece. Nope, it was written by an atheist, about the killing of Coptic Christians in Iraq. It does seem like sexist bullshit from the cover, so if you can get the full article then I'll have no trouble criticizing it if it's premise is prejudiced.
